Just my 2 cents: if you can’t get this deal for whatever reason, I find that the larger thrift stores often have these in good shape, second hand for about this same price. I think many people plan to use them, then don’t so they end up for sale. Great appliance though, many foods can be made! Good luck.

Yup. It’s not hard to find deals on “specialty appliances.” Lots of people receive one-trick ponies for wedding gifts or buy them themselves and don’t use them. I found a brand-new, highly rated Cuisinart ice cream maker for $8. Pasta machines, bread makers, ice cream machines, waffle makers, and so on tend to be donated quite a bit. Take note, gift givers! ๐Ÿ˜‰

We got one of those ‘free after rebate’ waffle makers from Kohl’s around Christmas and can’t seem to get properly cooked waffles out of it. They are usually darker in the crevices than the other parts. Not sure if we’re just not setting the heat properly or what. Any hints?

    • MrsMassone

I got he same waffle maker from Khols. You need to make sure you are using waffle batter and not pancake mix not general baking mix like bisquick. Mine come out perfect but gave one to my friend for Christmas present she said same thing as you. When we talked she was using bisquick but the recipe for waffles. She switched to waffle only mix and has not had anymore issues. HTH

I got both the sandwich maker & waffle maker on black Friday, the sandwich maker stopped working after 2 weeks and I ended up changing it for a cuisinart one that was $19.99 but the waffle maker is still going strong
