    Awesome!!

  2. Angela H

It’s great that they are offering other options besides dairy or soy. Wish it was a cleaner coconut milk though. It’s full of additives/chemicals. Definitely not clean/paleo/whole30/etc. But it’s a huge step regardless, to offer a choice like this!

    • Chris

      Hi Angela
Where do you find this information about starbucks coconut milk?

      • mel

I did some googling and this is what I found it contains –
water, coconut cream, cane sugar, tricalcium posphate, coconut water concentrate, natural flavors, sea salt, carrageenan, gellan gum, corn dextrin, xanthan gum, guar gum, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol).

        • Dee

YUCK! Is that even really coconut milk?

          • irene

Unfortunately, all the refrigerated non-dairy milks contain thickeners to mimic the consistency of cream. Unless you make your own, they are all processed foods.

            • Rae

There is one variety of canned that doesn’t have additives but so far I have only seen it listed on Amazon. Though while on vacation visiting family I found one brand in the Asian section of their grocery store that was also additive free. No such luck near me so I typically just use Thai Kitchen which the only additive is Guar Gum. I attempted to make it myself and that didn’t turn out so well in my $30 blender it was way too gritty.

            • Nicole

So Delicious brand does not contain any emulsifiers.

        • Lindsay

We are talking Starbucks. They put just as much crap in their food and drinks as any other chain restaurant.

          • Sandra

I’m pretty sure Trader Joes coconut milk is just coconut cream and water.

        • Krista

Can you post a link to where you found the nutritional information? Thanks so much!

  3. tams

wow, awesome news! i am vegetarian and soy intolerant… finally i can try one of those holiday drinks everyone talks about! counting down the months til christmas 😉

  4. Autumn

It’s been available in my area! NE Ohio.

  5. lucky

I wish it was almond milk instead.

    • Heather C

      I’m with you, Lucky!

    • KathieS

      Dunkin Donuts uses almond milk!

      • Tia

My store in South Florida doesn’t. The manager said there isn’t a demand for it.

        • Nydia

I’m in south Florida and I’d like to demand it! Lol

      • veronica

Really?! I’ve been avoiding dunkin donuts because I thought they only used dairy products. Thank you! This just made my day. I can finally try out their red velvet drinks 😉

        • Jessica

Ditto. I think coconut milk is disgusting but love almond milk. Would much prefer that. To each their own, I guess.

      • thecents2save

I didn’t know this either. Now I have a reason to try DD coffee out. Thanks for sharing!

      • Leigh

I’ve had almond milk at DD several times and I don’t think it mixes well with their coffee. It’s not a smooth brown, it looks and feels grainy, which I really hated. The coconut milk at starbucks is a much better consistency for my taste.

  6. Tonya

Yaaa! I’m excited to try it with hot chocolate. Delicious !

    • Amy

Wow…i didn’t know that! Thought they only had milk as an option! DD on my way to work later!

  7. Melissa

Thats great. I wished it was almond milk but hey its better than soy milk.

  8. Babs

Isn’t coconut milk full of saturated fat? Just wondering…love the coconut taste though!

    • Leigh

Coconut is full of medium chain fatty acids. It’s not the same thing as butter.

  9. jenny

I was super excited until I looked up the nutritional info and found out it has sugar as an ingredient.:(

  10. Katie

They’ve had it in Portland, OR for a while now. I do love the alternative but it’s very sugary, not like regular coconut milk. Maybe they’ll add Almond milk

    • thecents2save

I wish they would too, but it is highly unlikely.

“A Starbucks spokeswoman declined to say how many stores were offering coconut milk.
She added that the coffee chain is not testing almond milk, a popular non-dairy option, at this time due to the ‘critically important safety of our customers with nut allergies.”

      • jessie

Don’t they have other nut products, though? Hazelnut, etc.?

        • thecents2save

They use the same steaming pitchers for all types of “milks” as well as the same steaming wand on the machines. I suspect there is no way to remove all traces of milk out of the wand mechanism unless you completely remove it and clean it — which probably cannot happen during normal business. I suppose even though they rinse and wipe them there is still a high probability of cross contamination there. The hazelnut syrup is via pump (i.e. deliberately) and probably is less likely to have cross contamination or be mistaken.

          • thecents2save

Edit: There may be separate pitchers for dairy vs. non dairy and I presume they could do the same for almond milk — however, they are still limited to the same steaming wands on the machines.

          • Samantha

Their hazelnut is actually an artificial flavor. I have a severe nut allergy and an accidental dose of almond milk would probably kill me.

            • thecents2save

I did not know this. How interesting. Thanks for sharing!

        • Kim

          Artificial.

  11. Pon

My Starbucks account has $10 more today!! I am thinking if that is the bonus from reloading $25 two weeks ago! That will be a treat for me today!!

    • Karen T.

Yes, my $10 bonus was added yesterday!! Woot, woot!!! 🙂

  12. Angela

The quality of coconut milk does not surprise me as their milk is not good quality 🙁

Starbucks is definitely a special treat for us due to their lack of quality in any of their milks!

    • Ana

Hmm… Considering that the type of milk they use is the same milk from the grocery store you buy your milk from then I’m not sure what better quality it can be…. If they used the organic kind, they would hike up the prices and everyone would complain…

      • pixiepoe

I stopped drinking Starbucks because they don’t even offer the option to have organic milk…so for our family the quality of milk does matter conventional vs organic is a very real issue to many families.

        • michelle

Yes, it is definitely an issue for many families who don’t want to be exposed to artificial hormones or antibiotics from regular milk for health reasons. Their prices are already pretty high IMO for what they serve. I think they would be quite surprised at how many people would opt for organic over regular if they offered it.

          • Ang

Agreed! People who don’t want to be exposed to all of that will pay for higher quality. After all, we do at the Grocery store!

      • Ang

They should try Organic as a pilot option. People who want quality will pay for it, we do at the Grocery store.

  13. Saver

For those of us who have peanut/nut allergies this really stinks. The possibility of cross contamination in the drinks will definitely increase.

    • thecents2save

I think unless you are specifically allergic to coconut, you wouldn’t have any issue.

“*The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) states: “Coconut is not a botanical nut; it is classified as a fruit, even though the Food and Drug Administration recognizes coconut as a tree nut. While allergic reactions to coconut have been documented, most people who are allergic to tree nuts can safely eat coconut. If you are allergic to tree nuts, talk to your allergist before adding coconut to your diet.”

“In a national registry of 5,149 people with peanut or tree-nut allergies, only four self-reported an allergy to coconut.”

      • Saver

yes I am specifically allergic to coconut (anaphylactic response) and peanuts and I know the baked goods I cant try but I usually can have the drinks.

        • thecents2save

Darn! Maybe you could talk to the manager and ask if there is anyway to prepare your drink on an alternate (freshly cleaned) machine due to severe allergy.

    • Kim

There is already a issue with their artificial syrups. Coconut is not a nut it’s a fruit. Peanut is not a nut it’s a legume.

  14. Kay

Finally something for those of us who don’t do dairy and have a soy intolerance. I’m pleased. But honestly I wish it was almond milk instead. Coconut half is high in fat especially if you have it all the time.

  15. Hill

    Thanks goodness
I have milk and soy issues so this is perfect!

  16. browniesmomma

I am still wanting Almond milk!!!!!

    • llanna

      me too!

  17. Dee

    Woohoo

  18. Candy72

    It’s about time!!!

  19. Spring

As a person with no allergic and organic or not is never a matter to me, i dont understand why they offer coconut milk. But now i know why 🙂 always learn new thing everyday ☺️

  20. Cassandra White

That is nice. I am lactose intolerant.

  21. Edy

Love coconut water ! I just buy the real coconuts when I want some! Love their Starbucks orange Valencia drink cold drink it as a treat

  22. llanna

I am curious how much they will charge for coconut milk (i.e. 60 cents for soy milk)
