I have seen so many people that are going to ruin it for people who are actually going to get married my friend showed me her Instagram page and all I saw was people bragging of how they made 3 or 4 false accounts. It’s sickening sorry for those that are really going to get married

    • kcmiami88

I agree I seen the same thing. Smh I’m not even going to bother wasting my time on this!

    • jordan

Yea bummer to those who really are needing this for their wedding..pass on this one..

      • MommySpendsLess

How does someone “need” this for a wedding? A wedding is a big party to celebrate a happy event and a registry is a list of gifts that you want people to get you. I can think of other transitions or life events (divorce, leaving your parents’ home, first place without roommates, etc.) when people would really “need” the $20… Target just hopes that giving away $20 will lead to $500 in sales when people buy stuff off the registry from Target rather than their competitors. The false registries are really the most harmful to Target (and I’ll concede that creating multiples may be a bit greedy when it’s very obvious there’s a set limit…)

        • Heather C.

          Agree!

          • Jen

If you choose to have a wedding and spend thousands on a party it doesn’t mean you “deserve” a special promo. I doubt target did this to celebrate marriage.

    • Melissa

Agree makes me sick cuz I’m actually getting married

    • rachel

I don’t feel guilty at all. My boyfriend and I have been together since we were 17 and we are 26 now. We don’t believe in marriage, but could still use the $20 to get something for our home. According to past statistics, half of the people legitimately signing up for these registries will end up getting divorced anyway.

        • rachel

Just did some reading on that lady. She sounds like a nutcase. I’ll stick with a more reputable source.

          • Leslie

I would trust a Harvard researcher, who is highly trained in data collection, statistical analysis, etc. So what statistics are you citing when you are saying, “According to past statistics, half of the people legitimately signing up for these registries will end up getting divorced anyway.” Cite your sources, or the stats didn’t happen (don’t exist) and you are just making some random statement about non-existent statistics of your own opinion.

            • rachel

I believe the American Psychological Association over some random lady who did one study… But that’s just me.

            • Leslie

Who do you think makes up the American Psychological Association? “Random” highly educated ladies and men who do statistical analysis on data they’ve collected or from databases.

  2. TayaFaye

fingers crossed! Hope I get it!

  3. Janis

The site is already having issues. All I get is the message “Oh no, something went wrong…”

    • Judy

it was already super slow at 1215am

  4. arastic

you have to do it on a desktop

    • rnieves

Do you know for certain it needs to be done on a desktop?

      • Barb

I don’t think you have to do it on a dekyop, I tried to do it on my phone and it kept giving me a technical error then I did it on my desktop and I had no problems, I think it’s just easier and working better on desktops bit of your phone is working then it should work fine

      • Brittnee

I did mine on my cell and no problem.

  5. emj

    Thanks, just created one! 🙂

  6. Krista

That’s a shame that people are creating fake registries. Target was our 2nd registry for our wedding in May so this was perfect! Thanks, Colin : )

  7. Laura

How do you know if you’re one of the first?

  8. Kelly

Just created one! On my phone.

  9. sarah

  11. Bonus

    Done!

    Thanks for the heads up!

  12. Hunterwoody

I remember how poor my husband and I were when first starting out 13 years ago. $20 would have gone a long way. I hope you engaged and newly married couples enjoy and actually get this one. What a great help it would be!

    • Melissa

Thanks hunterwoody from refraining from doing the registry just to get $ .. Site is already having issues so looks like I’m out 🙁

  13. Melissa

Issues with the site no offense but it’s probably acting up bcuz so many ppl that aren’t actually getting married are doing it 🙁 I’m actually getting married July 18th would’ve been nice to sit down and do registerys cuz my fiancé is off today & then works straight for 2 1/2 wks

  14. Michelle

I’m was so excited to have done this. My husband and I are re-newing our wedding vows because we eloped 15 years ago next May. My mother ruined my wedding the first time…it was horrible. We ran away and go married and I wore a rented wedding dress. Our marrige is so solid but I always regret not having a wedding or a reception. It was tough when we first started with nothing, no gifts or money. But now that my mother is completely out of my life and so many things have changed we will do it right. My kids are super excited. We plan on going to NYC to Kleinfleds to get dresses for me and my 2 daughters. There is so little about my marriage I would change, but having to explain to my kids why we didn’t have a wedding is one of them. I know that in the end it doesn’t matter how much you spend on a wedding, it is who you marry and the love that you have for each other. Life is so short…

    • Claudia

Michelle, congrats on renewing your vows and your story attracted me cause me and my husband eloped as well. Were going to be married for 5 years this July and were hoping to have a small wedding with our closest family and friends when we complete 10 years. Your wedding is going to be special and memorable cause you enjoy it more now that you have your kids to share it with.

  15. Lindak

Too bad target doesn’t wait to issue the gift card until some items have actually been purchased from the lists. I hope all hipsters who are getting married are able to participate in the deal. Best wishes to all

    • Gretchen

That’s a good idea, when I was pregnant and registered for my Kohl’s baby registry, you had to email it to at least 5 people to get the gift cards/coupons. That would keep people honest – or at least force people to let their friends and family know what kind of people they really are!

    • K

Where does it say that? Details state 72 hours after registry is created.

      • M

I think she is referring to the registry at Kohl’s…..

  16. MilasMom

Can’t even get the pages to load, probably hit too hard. I am actually getting married on the 21st too! Bummer that others are abusing it. :/

  17. Ramon

Target should have one of these for collage registry! I’m not getting married anytime soon!

  18. Kitty

I did this earlier this year before I got married. It was very helpful and easy to do 🙂

  19. Glenna

I never got the GC or any email after signing up for the Amazon Registry. Hopefully Target will honor theirs.

    • K

I didn’t either. Wondering what happened there

      • Laura

        Me either😢

    • Bailey

I got mine about two months later. Maybe it’s just running late!

      • spifftiff88
