Sent from reader, Stephanie:

We needed some body wash and I told my husband about the deal at Rite Aid you posted where we could get free Irish Spring (deal no longer available). He said he would help me out and go get it with my coupons. He came home excited he saved us money and handed me the receipt. See anything anything wrong with this picture?

He went to CVS and spent 13 bucks on 4 bottles of body wash!

This is my brother – I gave him an assignment – hit no when the Mperks comes up regarding saving money – he CLAIMED that it was something about his credit card – in the end – he BLEW my $8 that I was receiving as a reward toward my next shopping trip – his purchase was free – cause he used up ALL of my $8 for his $4 purchase – Goodbye rewards! Could’ve shot him – he was getting himself something in the store – he didn’t think it mattered! Any other time,he would’ve called to find out what was going on at the register!!!

  2. Melissa

Hahahaha that is awesome! Made me laugh because this is totally something my husband would do. At least his heart was in the right place ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ladies if anyone is interested I will be glad to clone my husband for you all. LOL My Hubby is in charge of the C book, I print he clips and files. He knows where every C is in the book. I find the deals and he hands me the Coupon. He even likes to look @ the ads and gets really excited when he finds a better deal then I did. I am truly blessed. Honey your the best Hubby a girl could have.

    • Erin

I would love to coupon with my Hubby, the best he can do is MAYBE remember to price match at Walmart. Nice you have someone to get excited about a deal with. He enjoys the variety of snack available in the stock pile.

    • Marc

You could skip one of those orders Allie, just please forward me the information since I am single and love shopping/couponing.

  4. Mrschessiepup

My husband would NEVER use coupons no matter how hard I try! On the other hand, my son is getting ready to move out and I have been taking him shopping with me and assigning him some of the deals to go get on his own. I show him the deal on the blog, give him the coupons and send him on his way to that side of the store. He has really done great!!

    • Tara in TX

Great thing you are doing with your son! This will be an awesome life skill he will appreciate in the future.

  5. cheapcheapgoesthemommy

I sent my husband to the dollar General on 5 off 25 day. I told him to use it (he had a long list he had to get off stuff) When he came back I said, “so did you use it?” He said “nope, I only had $20 dollars worth of stuff!” I explained to him..he could have gotten Five for Free! if you he’d used the coupon…He is trying to learn. He even found a coupon for our local scrap yard… and often searches for codes online now. Super Proud A for Effort! ๐Ÿ™‚ God Bless our Husbands!

  6. Jeff

Return it for a CVS card and use the credit for the Charmin deal!!!!

  7. mikeB

I know plenty of women who don’t use coupons and could have done the same thing.
    Let’s all remember that this site isn’t called “women’s hip2save” right…… Collin!

    • Lenore

Hey mikeB you are right my husband loves my couponing and I think it’s wonderful so many men and young boys and girls are couponing. The majority of you tube video’s are from men. I love it. Wish I would have been taught this skill when I was young. That’s what I admire about this and other sites is that Colin and her team are teaching old, young, men and women a life skill that can better their future and their families.

  8. Michele

At least he gave them his Extrabucks cardโ€ฆ. My husband always forgets the store cards and never gets the sale prices.

    • jean

My bf always loses the card so he doesn’t have to do anymore deals.

  9. c

My husband will go to the store and call me a hundred times . So much I do not pick the phone when he is sent to the store. And with coupons that’s another story! I end up returning stuff he gets home cause he could not figure out the deal.

  10. Lindak

Most likely my husband would have lost the coupons before ever entering any store. On the other hand, a couple of weeks ago I myself bought candy at CVS and then later wondered why my total had been higher than expected. Then I remembered the candy deal was at Wags. Oh well, live and learn.

  11. Jeannie

Lol…I guess all husbands are alike in this respect! My husband, though well intentioned, always spends double or triple.

  12. Susie

Looks like he just went to his “go to” store. CVS is my fav too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Jeannie

Old adage “if you want something done right, do it yourself” seems appropriate here. This type of thing happens frequently when Hubby runs an errand for me. I have learned it is worth it to not have to do it myself, even though I cringe at times at what he pays

  14. Jane

i thought they were 50ยข each at CVS this week after ECB too? and should be 2/$7!?

    • mel

It was probably last wk, as they were not on sale at CVS, but Rite Aid. If my husband did that, I would bring the receipt & items back to do a return/exchange since they are on sale -this- wk.

  15. Ashley57

    Love this, so cute!

  16. Candy Clark

“A” for effort. And it’s pretty cute he was so excited he’d saved money. P.S.- this scenario totally could have at my house ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. C

This is so funny :). I think its so sweet that he made the effort to save money.

  18. SJ

Although this would frustrate me, the thought of it is endearing. CVS will take them back.

  19. Melissa

Thanks for the laugh!! At least he used the $2 coupons! LOL

  20. jhnicole

Lol I was like wait rite aid why is the receipt for cvs too funny.my husband will ask for one coupon. Then he goes to the store to use it.he has never asked to help me with a deal and a stack of coupons.I would love for that day to come.I hope he goes to the right store lol.thanks for sharing.

  21. Sonya

I don’t see this as endearing. I know a lot of people will be against me, but because so many women follow the “boys will be boys” motto, men continue to not pay as much attention as they should. It’s not a big deal with body wash, but as a whole, letting the small things go little by little, men think they can get away with paying attention to only what they want and be celebrated just for “trying”.

  22. Nichele

Very funny story. Sent my hubby to Rite Aid to do a deal before. List in hand, clipped with coupons, and with instructions to be friendly to the cashier. Not a problem with the last one because we are good friends with them. AND I know they would say something like “are you sure” that is the deal? Got to love my rite aid girls.
And the upside with them if you forget a coupon or don’t have it at the time you can go back and “post the Q” within a few days. Awesome!!!

  23. Americhick

Oh, ladies! I have gotten such a kick out of reading this entire post! I have been laughing so hard that I’m crying!
I must get one of these things called a “husband”! I’ve been without one for far too long! I’d forgot what a great source of entertainment they were!

  24. Lori

This is funny. Similar problem…my husband will get the deal…but find other things tp buy when out, so it negates any savings I send him to get.

  25. carrie

at lease he tried!! he was properly so proud: Iike a kid with a painted picture for you and a big mess left behind for you have to pick up.
