I do a lot of volunteer work for a nonprofit animal rescue in Michigan and saw that they were not a choice for charity donation on Pledgeling. I just sent an email and moments later the Director of Outreach contacted me and had added Paws for Life Rescue to their database. Complete with our mission statement and they found our logo and address information to include. Wow. Here is the link he created for us if you don’t know who to donate to. 🙂 https://www.pledgeling.com/organizations/3520/paws-for-life-rescue

Joanne, I donated my $5 to your charity. From one animal lover to another! <3

      • Joanne

AG – oh my gosh thank you! Our rescue has been hit hard with vet bills due to the cold winter and lots of abandoned cats and dogs. Every bit helps. Thanks.

        • Donna

Joanne, I donated to your charity and sent it to my brothers and daughter to do the same. I take food to our local shelter all the time. I love animals and we have to be their voice. God Bless You!

    • RB

Joanne, I was going to skip this until I saw your post. My shelter kitty cat has been sitting in my lap the whole time as I type at the computer, and she gives me a great deal of comfort and amusement 🙂 You’re right– the animals can’t advocate for themselves. Thank you for your efforts. I donated, and I signed my fiance up to donate, too, since he’s an animal lover. My shelter kitty cat has been sitting in my lap the whole time as I type at the computer, and she gives me a great deal of comfort and amusement 🙂

Thank you everyone who is donating to Paws for Life Rescue. I am touched. The Director of the rescue has also posted it to our FB volunteer page and getting donations. Because we have no paid staff, every penny donated goes directly to the animals in our care. We receive no government support and operate solely on private donations. Every donation is tax-deductible. 🙂 🙂

          • RB

Yay!! I sent an e-mail to some friends and relatives, some of whom have a soft heart for animals, so I’m certain at least a few will donate.

Thanks. I sent money to St. Jude’s.

What I want to know first is if there are any catches. How does this organization work? It all sounds good, but I want to know if they take a percentage of your donation for their operating costs. If that is the case, I would rather donate directly to my charities. I am a big believer in donating to charities, but there are far too many that take huge percentages for their own operations with very little actually going to benefit the cause.

    • Joanne

I think they are legit – I searched the web, nothing came up questionable and also read their FAQ. Pledgeling is a 501(c)3 and 100% of the donations go directly to the charity.

Had tough time deciding between Salvation Army and habitat for humanity chose Salvation Army. because without Salvation their will be no habitat for humanity 🙂

I just donated to Compassion International (please do the same if you are unsure where to donate). We sponsor several children through Compassion and it is such a great organization (we’ve even gone to meet some of the kids we sponsor). If you want to learn more, feel free to email me any questions (I’m a volunteer advocate since I love the organization so much) or go to this link to see what kids still need sponsors:

    Thanks!

My donation is going to Compassion, too! We’ve been sponsors for years and have seen such amazing things done through Compassion for our kiddos.

I just signed up and donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! My niece has cystic fibrosis, which is a genetic disorder that causes breathing difficulties and frequent lung infections. As far as I can remember, she’s always had to have repetitive breathing treatments, medications, and hospital visits. Unfortunately, there is no cure for cystic fibrosis and the average life expectancy for someone with CF is 37 to 50 years. My niece is now 20 years old.

    • Kathy

A gal I know with CF has outlived her life expectancy – she is in her 50’s. Hoping your niece does as well!!

If you are still trying to decide where to donate consider donating to CHERUBS. They just added the charity because I emailed them when I noticed it wasn’t on the site. Cherubs supports research and families who have a child born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Half of all babies born with this defect (there isn’t.a known cause at this time) will die due to the complications, and the other half often has complications and struggles for years to come. It is as common as cystic fibrosis and spina bifida, but most people have never heard of it. These babies and families need your support. My son was born with a diaphragmatic hernia 2 years ago and cherubs was the rock to help me through. Thank you! https://www.pledgeling.com/organizations/3523/cherubs-the-assoc-of-congenital-diaphragmatic-hernia-research

You have been “Liked” on FB by me and my organization. Thank you for the service you provide to nonprofits. I truly appreciate it!

This is amazing! I had never heard of this organization, thank you for posting Collin. I started a nonprofit, Learning Dynamics, in California. We provide difficult to find mental health and educational services on a sliding scale and accept private insurance. For example, treatment options for individuals with learning disabilities or high-functioning Autism. We provide our services at rates 40-70% less than local resources. As the founder, I know I am bias. However, I strongly believe in the work we do and the difference donations make in the lives of the families we serve. Like some of you, I emailed Pledgeling and they are fast. They set us up an account in minutes https://www.pledgeling.com/organizations/3529/learning-dynamics-inc. I know there are many worthy causes for you to consider. I would REALLY appreciate it, if you would consider donating to our organization if you don’t have one in mind yet.

I just donated to your organization! I work in the social services field in Los Angelas California and see so many children and families that could use your services, espesally out in the San Fernando Valley. Please donate to this cause and like their page to help spread awarness that this organization is out there. Thank you for the work you do!

Thank you. We are up to $40, and I pray it keeps coming. We will be using the funds to purchase cognitive enhancement training materials for children and young adult clients with Autism and learning disabilities. Thank you again for your support!

Thank you!!! We LOVE Samaritan’s Purse and they had it on their website!! so, I was able to give the $5 to them!!!! thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

    • RB

Trying to help my friend donate to Samaritan’s Purse, but on their page under “add funds” it says add funds minimum donation is $10. (Above it is also an entry labeled “your donation” minimum $5 (also says at the top $10 raised from 2 donations, which would be $5 each), but I can’t see how to choose or proceed.

If you’re looking for a good organization, CCFA is a great one!! Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. It’s amazing how many suffer from this terrible disease and hoping for one day soon to have a cure that affects many lives.

Please check the Anita Kaufmann foundation. My daughter has epilepsy n coming up is purple day on march 26. It is all about promotion n education. Epilepsy is so underfunded yet it effects 1 in 10 people in their lifetime. Please consider funneling your donation towards them. Thank you!

    • happymama

I was looking for any epilepsy foundation but didnt find it. However, I was in contact with the owner of this foundation when my son was diagnosed. She’s fabulous! People really need to understand epilepsy.

On a a side note, I think you posted a coment asking for coupons for diastat. Did you read me comments?

      • Rachael

I did not see them, I will look at them though. Thank you in advance. I emailed plegeling asking them about any epilepsy foundation. There are some on there. Through my email, I began to explain purple day and the director emailed me and said that they are going to put up a page that links all of the non profits focused on epilepsy up on a special page on purple day to link it all together. If you look at the Anita Kaufmann foundation, I really loved the education and promotion aspect. They are trying to cut down the stigma through education and I love that.

Thanks for the info! I do fundraising for CARE Cat Adoption Rescue Efforts in Richmond, Va and just signed up our non profit as a charity on Pledgling! If you are in Virginia, donate to our rescue! We rescue cats in Central Virginia.
