If you download they Kohls app on your phone, under the wallet feature in the menu you can enter in the 15% off code in the box labeled discount and it will create a barcode that they scan at the register.
Those barcodes don’t work, register won’t accept. The typical in store coupon does not have a barcode.
Grab an ad scan from online, Kohl’s will accept the picture.
That’s not correct, I have used the 30% code numerous times from my phone. In fact when you make the barcode, on the back it specifically says in store and online. Any cashier that says it won’t work, show her the find print. Trust me this works.
The barcode itself doesn’t work. But many of the cashiers will manually put it in when you show them the picture. The coupon that you receive through the mail is good in store and online…but the barcode created will not work.
It’s not the cashier saying its invalid. I’ve used the app, they scan it, register doesn’t accept barcode, they look at phone and manually enter the % into the system.
Oh exactly, if the register doesn’t accept the code, just show the coupon to the cashier and they should take it off. Like I said, the coupon fine print on the app says “present in store”, so just pitch a little fit and you should get it.
I’m trying to use the $10 off mens to buy my husband some Chaps brand clothing and the $10 juniors coupon to buy items from the juniors department, but it won’t take those amounts off. Im using a desktop computer. Is it possible that only a few selected items work with those coupons?

I just placed an order and was charged different than what my total was showing on the place order page. They also charged me shipping even though I put in the shipping code (and it stated it was taken off on the place your order page). Just be careful and watch your statements.
That happened to me today too. It was so weird it jumped almost $20 and I placed it at 2 in the morning- so had to call when I woke up. They put a request in to adjust it, but I thought maybe I did something wrong?

Just got off the phone with them. The rep said they have been having big problems today with the website. Lots of people being charged the wrong amount. She cancelled my order then re ordered everything using the correct discounts.
It just happened to me as well. I sent an email so I don’t have to wait on hold. I hope that works. The email has worked in the past!

I’ve always gotten my boys nike & adidas clothes at Kohl’s, and have never had a problem using coupons until recently. I have 2 men’s adidas sweatshirts in my cart and it won’t take the $10 off 25 men’s apparel coupon. It says “items in your shopping bag do not qualify”. I’m guessing they can’t accept coupons on certain name brand items anymore. Does anyone know where to find the exclusions for the coupons?

Yes, you can no longer use discount or percentage off Nike. I’m not happy! Nike is what my family likes to wear. So, guess I’ll skip buying them at Kohls. I’ll check our local Nike outlet. 🙁
I bought nike sweatpants in store the other day and tried to use the 15% off and they wouldnt let me. Said Nike decided it won’t take coupons anymore….

The exclusions are such a hassle! Kohl’s WAS my “go to” for all of our name brand shoes, and clothing. I’m not going to waste my time shopping somewhere, to get to checkout and find I can’t use my coupons. I see it says “select online exclusive merchandise” as well. Both of the adidas sweatshirts in my cart were “online exclusive”, but adidas isn’t listed as an excluded brand.
I know! I just used my $15 off $15 mailed coupon and bought my daughter 2 nice toys for $2. As I walked out of the store I was thinking the best coupon thing I’ve ever done was getting Kohl’s charge card and started shopping there. Seems like all these exclusions just popped up since last night? So disappointed. I will not deal with Kohl’s again unless I see people are getting their time/money worth.

I figured it out. Click on “today’s deals” on the homepage, scroll down to “department deals”, and click the “shop now” under the coupon you want to use.
I tried purchasing a car seat and neither codes would work and it kept asking that I use a kohls charge card even though I was using one. Anyone else?

I called and after 40 minutes on wait they told me I can apply neither code on the car seat I wanted to purchase.
I don’t know about the credit card issue, but car seats and most baby items no longer work with any coupons. :0(
Pretty much any baby gear item that says online only is excluded from all coupons. This sucks. Kohls won’t get my money anymore.
Remember, if you have the app you can enter the 30% off code and it will create a barcode that you can use in store too.
Ive tried doing this in store and they wouldnt allow it. They told me there was no 20% available at that time, despite me having generated a barcode for them to scan.
Oh weird! I’ve done it multiple times in store and it worked perfectly. I love always having 30% off in store.
Say ok. And know your right. And go to a different checkout. Pick your cashiers wisely. I have to teach myself this every time. If they are smiling and old go for it. If they are old and somber Pass!
The barcode that it creates will not scan at the registers. If you notice on the mailer/scratch off coupons, there is no barcode. Not sure why the app even creates one. So, in some ways, the register is correct, there is no valid coupon with a barcode. The cashiers always have to manually enter the coupon, depending on which % off you received. But when I show the 30% off to the cashier, she usually puts it in for me. Or if I show her a picture.

I was just at kohls the other day buying Nike shoes for my daughter and the cashier said coupons no longer can be used on Nike. I’m not sure of the exclusions but it appears that there are several..

Sent the wrong items in last two orders and all they say is you can return to a store for a refund. So im out the items i wanted and have to mess with returns.
This has happened to me about 4 times since December…they are becoming a joke.
I was at Kohl’s over the weekend and my discount didn’t look correct so I asked the clerk. She said their contract with Nike changed. They will no longer use discount coupons on Nike. (They will clearance those items but you can no longer discount the item). It was a sad day – I had two pairs of Nike shoes and 3 sports pants. BIG BUMMER
Does a anyone have success at JC Penny’s? or any Midwest gals have success at Herbergers with coupons, discounts and using their credit cards?
I have my best luck at Penney’s, they drop their prices low on clearance to begin with, and then there’s always a 20% off or $10 off $25 coupon. Herberger’s, not so much. They sometimes have coupons for $10 off $10 or more, so you think I’m going to buy something for $10-15 and get a great deal. Well, their coupons are so restrictive, they exclude bonus buys, incredible deals, doorbusters, and the yellow/black dot clearance. And everything is on one of those sales, so pretty much everything is excluded! If you have time and your store has a price scanner, eventually you can find something, but it takes time. I opened up their credit card because they have these $20 rewards cards you can earn…what they aren’t very up front about is that it’s $20 off $50 and again, all those exclusions I mentioned before. However, they did send me a postcard for a completely free full size Clinique lipstick yesterday, so I guess all is forgiven!
So true on JCP. Love their clearance+ coupons. And thank you for comments on Herberger’s. I was just too lazy to shop there, now I know I didn’t miss much.
Herberger’s, Yonker’s and Boston Store are all related. Their coupons have many, many restrictions. You really have to work to find things to buy that are not excluded. However, I did have luck last weekend with their Community Charity coupon book.
JC Penny is great saving with coupons, although they as well will no longer accept coupons on Nike items (not their fault, it’s Nike who wont allow it)
I got 2 pairs of Angels jeans, 4 cuddle dud fleece shirts and 2 Olaf shirts for $56! Plus $10 in Kohl’s cash! (The intimates coupon works with the cuddle duds!) Thanks!
Is anyone else unable to apply the SHOWERS30 code with a Kohls charge? I’ve tried 2 different browsers and my phone and every time it says I must be using a Kohl’s charge. I even tried removing all of my credit card info and adding it again and it still won’t work. I’ve been on hold with customer service for 15 minutes already.

Just got off the phone with kohls customer service. The showers30 code isnt working on mobile devices. The free shipping might have the same problem. Neither worked for me on my phone order. They said they were having extended wait times. My wait was around 22 minutes. The good news is my order was corrected and i used my wait time to get caught up with clipping my coupons 🙂

i wasn’t going to get anything from kohl’s right now, but just reading about the exclusions on nike and baby gear is so annoying! i bought both my carseats from kohl’s during sales plus 30 percent off, and i wanted to do the same for my sister later on when she has a baby. boo, i guess ill look for deals elsewhere.

I stacked the $10/$25 men’s apparel code, the 30% off code, a code that Discover sent that was $10/$30 purchase and the free shipping code. SEVEN items for just $16! That’s fantastic!

I am VERY upset! Did Kohl’s update their system or why can I not use a giftcard to pay and enter my Kohls card and still get the 30% off and free shipping! I used to do it allll the time and now it’s not letting me. I just lost interest in Kohl’s! People always give me giftcards and now I cant even use them to buy online and use a coupon code????? I could cry!
I hope not! I placed an order 2 weeks ago with a giftcard and logged into my kohls account where it had my kohls card checked and I got the discounts fine.

I am extremely upset that Nike will not allow Kohls to give coupons on Nike anymore. That is all I bought my boys. Apparently Nike is considered an exclusive brand and will not allow them to offer coupons. I hope people contact Nike and let them know they are not happy. If customers don’t stand up to the companies this will continue to happen. Their number is 1 (800) 806-6453. Please bombard them with complaints.

Ordered several Nike items last night after customer service was closed. My 30% didn’t work on most of my order. Thought it was a website problem so I called Kohls customer service this am and was told that Nike would no longer let them use coupons on any of their items. I then called Nike who directed me to call Nike Corporate. I just got off the phone with them and they said Nike sells their products to Kohls wholesale (no pricing has changed recently) and Kohls makes the decisions on what they sell the products for. On that note, if Kohls continues to NOT honor the coupons, I will buy Nike products at Modells or Macys where I will get a discount. That’s too bad because I like shopping at Kohls and they used to give you great deals!
