You’re welcome, kat! π
Help: I’m not a nail polish girl (ie: I polish my toenails about 2 times each summer(and one time lasts good enough for me til the next time I do it and its lasts me from may til september) and then go bare nails til the next summer)
Can someone explain to me what makes one polish better quality than another? I generally just use the cheap stuff or drugstore brands I’ve gotten on sale over the years…
IMO, this polish seems to last a heck of a lot longer than drugstore polishes. I thought the same thing until I tried this stuff. $4.50 is a great price for this stuff, so if you’re thinking about trying I definitely would.
P.S. – I am just like you. Paint my nails about x2 per year… π
thanks…I might have to give it a whirl!
Hi. Most people judge a polish on wear time, opacity, ease of application. Some are also interested in polishes that are free from certain chemicals, such as Zoya is. Sometimes higher end polishes are worth the money, but there are equally as good of drugstore polishes. It’s one of those trial and error type of things. Some colors within the same brand even perform differently. Some people are polish junkies and love to change their color all the time and try new things. If what you have works for you, stick with it.
ooh, I like the point about the chemicals, hadn’t thought of that! thanks for your insights.
Does anyone know where to donate or how to properly dispose your unwanted bottles (either by mail or locally)? TIA
Anyone know what type of places take old bottle of polishes?
Your local thrift shops and/or Goodwill may take them.
I don’t get how it helps the Earth just to give it to someone else to use. I thought the point was to discard them safely and not be used at all.
Because it’s for old (dispose of properly) AND/OR unwanted (donate to someone who does) polishes.
Reduce, reuse and then recycle. In that order.
Similar to disposing of paint, make sure to let the polish dry in the bottle, but do it outside to avoid indoor air pollution from the fumes. After that, you can take it to your nearest Hazardous Waste facility: https://search.earth911.com/?what=nail+polish&utm_source=earth911-post&utm_medium=shortcode-search&utm_campaign=advanced-search
