I got the espresso maker too. I found it’s easier to work the steaming wand without the black plastic cover they put on it. There is also a metal piece underneath that cover that when I got mine was not screwed in all the way. I wasted a few cups of milk before I figured out of was wrong. Once tightened it worked like a charm.
