If you’re looking to save on dining out in your area or to save on eating out when traveling, here’s a great deal for ya! Today & tomorrow only, Restaurant.com is offering up a $25 gift certificate for ONLY $4.25 when you use the promo code SANTA at checkout.

Here’s what you’ll need to do…

*Click here to find a restaurant in your neighborhood (you can search by zip code or city)

*Browse through the list of participating restaurants in your area (you will be able to view the menu, location, and phone # for each restaurant)

*Pick your restaurant and the appropriate gift certificate amount and then click add to cart; be sure to read the restaurant’s special instructions before purchasing the certificate; many restaurants require that you make a minimum purchase in order to use the certificate (i.e. minimum purchase of $35 is required to use a $25 restaurant.com certificate), many add 18% gratuity prior to the certificate being applied, some state valid for food or dinner only, and some restrict the days that the certificate can be used (i.e. Monday-Friday only).

*Enter the promo code SANTA into the “Promo Code” box in the shopping cart; your discount will then be applied to your purchase. AND your final cost for a $25 certificate will be just $4.25!

*When you complete the transaction for your gift certificate, you will receive a confirmation page and an email that will allow you to customize, print, and/or email the certificate to someone; certificates can be customized with a choice of a background picture, a specific message, and the recipient’s name and you may also opt to receive notification when the recipients receives and opens the email…makes it super easy to send the certificate as a gift to someone special!

    Has anyone bought these before?

Unless I’m seeing something else, all I read are bad reviews for restaurant.com

    • Ana

I have gotten them free with my virzon points and I live in the middle of no where so not worth my time. If u live in big city this is perfect you!!!

    • Cassandra

Yes, but the reviews are only bad because some restaurants do not accept them. Before your purchase, I advise calling first to make sure they accept it.

  2. Heather

It’s all local restaurants that I’ll probably never eat at 😕

  3. Gilly

I don’t see how these work. If they did everyone would buy them

  4. Laura

Yea they have restaurants on here that I have never heard of around my area… Not a good thing! Thanks for the feedback

we used to buy them all the time. they are a great way to save about $10-$20 average on a dinner out. they are easy to use, and we never had a problem with the restaurant accepting them or anything.
in my town, i have noticed that a lot more certificates are available at the beginning of the month. by the end of the month, the places you want or the amounts you want may be sold out, and then you can wait until the new month starts and the available ones will be restocked.
also, make sure you are aware of the minimum purchase required. for example, to use a $25 off certificate, you may need to spend $50 (not including drinks or tip). sometimes for lunch or if it is only dinner for 2, you may be better off getting a $15 certificate because it will be hard to reach the minimum purchase required.
but it’s a nice way to try new places. it’s like buying a coupon to go someplace you may not have thought of trying before. (usually chain restaurants don’t offer this in my area, so we try locally owned places.)

The only thing I don’t like about them is that you HAVE to spend a certain amount when using the gift certificate. It usually isn’t too difficult, but sometimes defeats the purpose of a “cheap” night out. You still save tho I guess…save to spend 😉

WARNING!!! The local Restruants in my area do not exist or are CLOSED!!!

I have used these before. They work but choices are limited. And like someone said you need to live near a big city. I used some in charleston SC.

I brought some a few weeks ago for a coffee house and the minimum purchase had to be $50! I won’t ever spend that much at one time. So now I’m just stuck with $100 worth of these gift cards. Make sure you look at the minimum purchase before you buy. I wouldn’t recommend them.

I think there’s an “exchange” button on restaurant.com. You just have to verify that you haven’t used the certificate!

I bought them before and it was a great way to try new places to eat. Sometimes we get in the routine of eating at the same place and this helps you find local places. Just read the fine print before you buy a restraint there are restrictions.

I have used these before. Yes, definitely pay attention to the minimum amount you have to spend. Usually only worth it toward the end of the month when they are discounted more. But every certificate I have purchased has worked at the restaurant but a good idea to call first.

I have used them before and have found several places I would have never gone. I always yelp the place first. But if I buy one and change my mind for another restaurant you can always exchange it like the pp said.

What a terrible experience. I purchased a few certificates, received a confirming email with the link to my account and….no certificates. I sent 3 emails with complains, no response. My card got charged, still, no certificates. I was finally able to locate their phone number and got hung up on with the first call. Second time was better, I was even promised a new email with my certificates loaded properly….It may take up to 24 hours though…So no news yet. Do not order from them, it’s spam.
