Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

For a limited time, Jet.com (a members-only shopping club that launched earlier this year and was started by the founder of Diapers.com, Soap.com, and Wag.com), is offering new Jet Insiders a FREE 12-month membership (a $49.99 value!) after making your first purchase when you use the promo code GOOGLE at checkout! Keep in mind that a FREE 3-month subscription will automatically be added to your cart, but will change to a 12-month subscription whenever you use the code GOOGLE in the final stages at checkout.

If you’re not familiar with this site, Jet.com competes with Amazon and Costco prices and promises to offer Profit-free pricing (all profits will come from membership fees and not the products they sell), a Membership guarantee (they guarantee you will save the $49.99 cost of membership or they’ll refund the difference), and FREE shipping on $35+ orders and FREE returns. For more details on how Jet works, head on over here and watch the short video.

Have you purchased anything from Jet.com? If so, how do you think prices compare to other online retailers?

Crazy that you just posted this ….I heard about this company on the news this morning (or was it yesterday???) and was planning to sit down tonight and do some research on the company before I posted about it. From the little blurb I heard on the news, it does appear that their prices currently beat those of Amazon and Walmart. One item they profiled was not cheaper on Jet. I think this may be very good for us consumers since the price wars may start ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m in …I’m all for convenience…love having heavy detergent and bulky items like tissue and paper towels shipped to my front door

      Love shopping from home! ๐Ÿ˜€

The code is for only google employees … that is what JET customer service told me today. I was a beta user for them and tested out their website and made a couple purchases with them. When google wasnt working they told me it was for google employees only. I will be interested to hear if the code works for others.

    Thank you

      Worked for me.

Pricing is ok.. if you get a $ sign at the bottom of a product there is a specific amount of money that comes off when you add it into your cart and then if you use debit card you get another 1.5% off your order – with the above discounts some bulk items like diapers (huggies came out to .18per diaper in 174 count box) and I had to return an item which they seemed pretty good about (you can waiver your return and get some money off each product too)

Collin, is the the website that you won the contest for? I remember reading about it several months ago that you had the most people sign up using your link and that you won 10,000 stock shares for this company!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yes, it sure is. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • karen

How did she know you won the contest?

        • Ashley57

Wow! Great job Collin!! I got a five year membership from all the sign-ups, which I was pretty excited about, lol.

  5. Cassandra

Actually, I saw the code on another website: Accel0721A

It offers a free 12-month membership after you make your first purchase. But, a lot of complains about the shipping charge. Haven’t scoped out the site yet though!

  6. awlrain

They are def very heavily promoting and offering free memberships left and right. I scored a 1 yr membership by spreading word while they were gearing up and they sent me a Jet paraphernalia package complete with a bunch of 1 yr membership cards to hand out to friends.

    • I Luv InO (@anml_styl)

do you have any memberships cards left to share? I’d appreciate a couple…

  7. Dana

Jet will never take off in my opinion. Prices don’t even come to close to Amazon’s prices. Even if they beat Amazon’s prices, Amazon will wipe them off of the floor, it’s never going to come close.

    • awlrain

I think you’re right. I admire their chutzpah to take on the giant though. There is so much [insurmountable] love for Amazon out there. And i do find it ridic that even with the membership fee, members still have to make $35 to get free shipping. They may lose on that front alone.

      • Dana

I agree. It would be different it was completely free shipping, but that $35 shipping minimum KILLS it. Not shopping there! I’ll stick with Amazon Prime

  8. debbie

OMG, the cereals are so expensive! an 18 ounce box of plain Cheerios was $6.66

    • Dana

      Wow that is crazy!

  9. carrie8

I bought Blue Naturally cat litter. It was price matched to amazon ($22.40 for 14 lbs) and then another $9+ via jet. 2 bags met the $35 minimum shipping requirement and also increased the discount to $10+ per bag. So I got 2 bags for just over $25.

  10. Wendee

From what I saw the prices were not better.. and with free 2 day shipping with prime, I don’t see how they can compete ๐Ÿ˜•

  11. Jessica

wow I’m surprised, everything I checked was lower prices than amazon. I actually order from amazon several times a day, and just decided to cancel several of my orders and stack them together at jet. Saved $12 for the same stuff!

  12. Jessica

    looks like code is over

  13. carla

There’s not nearly as big of a selection of products yet, either.

  14. sharon

I checked the price on one item. Family size Lay’s. $4.81. That is ridiculous.

  15. ali

I got free shipping and a great deal on bento boxes that I needed for the kids for school. Paid $23 for all 3 kids.

  16. mary

got it went to check a price page went blank another still like bsj you can use there coupons n manufactures coupons on top

    • mary

      sorry bjs

  17. Leighann

Prime also offers unlimited video streaming and free books, which makes it worth it to me.

I want to check out jet, though. More shopping options never hurts.

  18. Kristen

I found some great deals on things I normally order (diapers, wipes, soap, etc). They were better deals than stacking coupons and deals instore or through amazon! Thanks Collin!

  19. Trish

I am a beta tester and my first search didn’t come close to Amazon. I gave them that feedback. I’m not impressed.

  20. Sheryl

So, I made an order and I was actually impressed. You have to search, but I found many things better priced. For example, if you have FROZEN fans, they have the new Ultimate Frozen Sticker book (the one with over 1000 stickers) for $11.69 (which is Amazons price)minus $5.60, making it only $6.09. ๐Ÿ™‚ Just thought I’d share. I also got some shampoo, gummy snacks…brown rice noodles and raw honey. Each thing was much cheaper than what I usually would pay at Amazon or Vitacost. I’d love to hear what other deals people have gotten. Thanks!

  21. Caroline

I needed to get pur water filters and packs of tom’s toothpaste for my children and face wash for myself (kiss my face). The toothpaste was priced higher and they didn’t even have the big box of pur refills. Just box of two so per filter price is much higher, so Amazon was still cheaper overall.
Also, Google nor the other core provided above gave me 12 months for free (though I don’t understand what membership is for if you still have to shop for x amount to give free shipping)
    :/

  22. LL

What’s the point of the higher price and then “x.xx amount off your order?” Is there a good reason they can’t just put the lower price to begin with? It pisses me off that I have to do some quick math whilst searching every single product I may intentionally want to buy. That right there made me close the tab to that site.

  23. FosterMom

We have been beta testing for a while, and placed two orders.

Take into consideration that we were beta testing.
One order they sent expired food items, they refunded us easily. The second order they overcharged us, and after complaining a bit they credited our account.
For us the shipping took a lot longer, some items claimed 2-3 days, but took two weeks.

  24. Kathleen

Promo code “GOOGLE” did not work ๐Ÿ™

  25. Carrie

I used code TKERSHAW and it worked for me. I am an Amazon prime member and I love it, I thought I would check this out, especially since I love to online shop for household items …it helps me avoid having to run to our local Walmart. I love not having to meet a shipping minimum for free shipping with my prime membership the most. I placed an order for a couple of items that I had been needing. I am getting low on trash bags and I am also close to needing a new crystal roll on deodorant. I was able to order 2 boxes (70 count) glad force flex trash bags and 1 crystal brand roll on deodorant and 1 naturally fresh brand roll on crystal deoderant for 33 dollars for 33.17 total. I put all 4 of those items in my cart on Amazon and it was just over 50 dollars. I still love Amazon but if this order goes smoothly I might order from here at times as well.

  26. rachael

I just got great deals on cat food and litter through Jet.

  27. Michelle

The โ€œgoogleโ€ code has expired. The code that worked for me is CURISMA. Hope this helps someone! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Colleen

Thank you that code worked for me but my order is still waiting to be placed??

  28. Angie

I beta tested for them & saved a lot over amazon by $40 on the same items in one order. Items came the next day for me as they shipped from a wharehouse by me in rural Nevada. I ordered Venus razor refills, organic tampons, regular tampons, earthpaste, organic lemon juice, shaving cream, many cooking spices & things I usually purchase via amazon subscribe & save. So far I like it but I also love amazon.

  29. Jenny

I beta tested for them a few months ago and they had the lowest price for my specific item plus free shipping. After ordering, I received a hand written thank you note from one of their workers. I also made it on their wall at their HQ for being one of the first customers! I’ll definitely use them again!

  30. Kris

TKERSHAW WORKS on 7/23/2015 for a Free 12 month membership

  31. Funbuns

TAPNY code works for free 1 year too

  32. Funbuns

Sorry I meant TAPJET for free 1 year membership

    • Katie

Thanks for the code, just used it. I got free shipping with just a $32.97 total. My order was for 11 kids’ books in Spanish or bilingual editions (which I can never find discounted), and each of them was at least 50% below the Amazon price! I’ll definitely be using Jet for books in the future.

Referral Coupon Code: 6B66748 – $15 of first jet.com purchase of $50+ (expires 9/2). Free shipping at $35+. Stacks with CURISMA for 1 year membership. Btw, all $15 of $50+ first purchase codes are referral codes, so when you use it I get a $15 credit as well. Just wanted to make that clear.

  35. Annie

Hello! I was wondering if jet.com accepted manufacturer coupons?
