We have saved over $700 since January. We’ve only had a few bad cards and Raise stands by their promise to refund your money! Do it!

Bought a $56 Walmart card a few days ago with $0 on it. Wrote to them and haven’t heard back yet…sigh.

Please be careful not to add any Starbucks card to your gold card because you risk being wiped out

      • Raise

        Hi Gilly,

We don’t recommend merging cards because once merged we are no longer able to track the specific card if needed. We do protect our members with a 100% money back guarantee up to 100 days: https://www.raise.com/members-protection. If there is anything we can help with or would like additional information on Raise, please do not hesitate to reach out!

        Thank you,

Why can you not add the Starbucks gift card to your Gold Card Account?

      • Lisa

        Wiped out how?

        • Gilly

The original card holder waits for you to add it to your gold card account and then wipes out your account by transferring it to another card

          • Melissa

But… If you’ve already transferred it to a new card with new card number.. I would think they wouldn’t be able to wipe it?

Interesting. I want to get this deal but I really like to streamline my cards to just the gold card.

I have used Raise for over a year, they are awesome, great way to save, especially when you pair them with coupons. Customer support is helpful. I had an issue with a bad card and they replaced it and also gave me a great coupon to use again.check site often, great cards go fast!

If you’re having a hard time getting through to customer service on the phone, try contacting live chat, and they will put you through immediately. This is what I had to do to verify my account, and all they did was ask for my name, mailing address and phone number. Worked just fine for me.

  6. Patricia Goff

My $5 isn’t there. I have never ordered from them so I guess the deal is over now.

    • Raise

      Hi Patricia,

Please give us a call at (888) 578-8422 and mention you signed up with Hip2Save, we will add $5 to your account to use. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  8. Megan

My order from a few days ago was canceled because I didn’t feel like waiting behind 10+ other callers every time I tried customer service.

  9. K

Same here, Megan. They emailed my boyfriend and made him call them, and then did a background check on him, asking all sorts of personal questions about previous addresses and student loans. I called and I cancelled my order. Ridiculous! Not worth the hassle.

A reader named Kaylee wrote the following message below on July 24, 2015 @ 5:57 PM MST. Raise never followed up on her comment and I’m very concerned as I myself bought two high denomination cards. This is what Kaylee wrote verbatim:

If you don’t plan on using the gift cards right away, you might want to think twice. I purchased several high denomination cards over a year ago along with some small amounts as well. I lost over $200 in the end because whoever they get these cards from, wait for them to be sold and then they use them or resell them. It is VERY embarrassing to go to a restaurant and be told you have a zero balance. This has happened on several occasions. At first, Raise fixed the one error so I bought more thinking they had great customer service. But as it kept happening and then being told I was out of luck because the card was purchased over 30 days ago, I got scammed. You shouldn’t have to use the cards right off. My purchase was because I knew I was going to be off work due to my pregnancy and wanted to save money and be able to go and eat and relax and not worry about dishes so much. But the hassle and embarrassment of being told there is a zero balance is not fun. Plus when they do fix the error, they only refund what you paid. Which I thought was kind of crappy because the savings on the gift cards to me was like using a coupon. So I wouldn’t have went there without the discount. And then to have to pay cash or worse yet, not have any money to pay is just not worth it. I did have a couple good experiences but several of my cards were not what I bought and was just told I was out of luck because it was over 30 days. And with the hours I spent extra at the restaurants waiting for them to run the card several times and them to call and check the balances and then to have to pay extra out of my pocket on top of the gift card loss, just be careful.

    • Gilly

This is what I’m talking about.

    • Raise

We have used them for a couple of years and never had a problem. Clothing, back to school, restaurants etc. We also combine these savings with coupons.

I have been a very happy Raise customer for quite some time, and have been very pleased. I sold several cards last fall and have also purchased several cards. If you don’t like it, don’t use it and move on – they are giving you their 800 # over and over again, I’m not sure what else they can do. I am personally thankful that they discourage loading the cards onto your Starbucks gold card because that protects YOU (once you do that, they can’t track your money any longer) I buy a lot of Starbucks cards and I take them right into Starbucks to have them set it up to make sure it’s all good. They keep telling you to call so that they can help you – I called to ask a question and got a nice pleasant answer right away, this is a company that is doing more than most – let them help you or move on.
Also – live support is very quick too! Everyone wants an easy $5, but this is also money they are dealing with so they need to make sure things are legit to protect the purchases, and I totally get that. I don’t normally find it necessary to defend companies, but this is one that I have been very impressed with, so just putting that out there. Thanks Collin for sharing these great finds <3 Also, just spotted, Macy's cards at 18% off right now 🙂
also – in case anyone missed, there is a $5 off $75 that stacks with the free $5.00 – the code is: RAISE75AF

    • holly

How about not selling $0 gift cards to begin with and not making customers go through the hassle of trying to sort it out? I understand it’s a deal, and I thank Collin for posting it, but some of us would like to share our experience so that others may make an informed decision. That’s part of the beauty of a blog like this…the comments. Just as you have shared yours 🙂

    • Bunny

I agree with Holly. The comments section helps readers make informed decisions.

Telling people “if you don’t like it, don’t use it and move on” is not helpful to those trying to figure out if this deal will work for them. Collin’s readers need to know if others have experienced problems so they can determine if this is something they should purchase. For example, some people purchase discounted cards and hold on to them or give them as gifts. Those folks should definitely NOT purchase these as they may end up with a $0 balance after 100 days.

Telling people to “move on” is like sweeping the problem under the rug. Some Hip2Save readers have had problems with Raise so buyer beware!!

    • Bunny

And one other thing….live support IS NOT QUICK. I waited 40 minutes to speak with a customer service rep the other day to verify my purchase.

  13. Ari

Have bought from them numerous times (probably 20+). Only had issues twice and both were refunded in full. One was a $50 Chick Fil A card with zero balance (realized after a few weeks of getting the card). The other was a $200 Outback card that never arrived in the mail. I will continue to use RAISE to save money at places we frequent.

  14. Tracy G

I’d say it’s a best practice to check the balance of any gift card purchased secondhand prior to using it as sometimes snafus happen; also be sure to read the fine print. I use most of the gift cards I buy from Raise online & I always check the website I’m buying from first to find out if there are limits on how many gift cards can be used. I get my haircut & colored at JcPenney & save myself at least 20% every time using Raise.

    • Ketsy

Yay. I thought I was the only one to spend the Raise gift cards at the salon. :D. I bought a CHi flat iron and the RUSk curler using these. Saved an extra 20% on top of JCPs sale and coupons.

  15. 4Ella

Keeps saying “unable to create account” when I use Collin’s code

    • Raise

      Hi 4Ella,

Please give us a call at (888) 578-8422 and mention you tried to sign up with HSave. We will make sure you receive your $5 credit.

      Thanks!

Just wanted to say that I just ordered a $10 gift card for Kohl’s through Raise. I used the $5 credit. The transaction went smooth. The egift card was sent to my email within 15mins. I placed an order on Kohls.com using the gift card and had no issues. So thanks Collin and Raise, I will be ordering from Raise again!

  17. Eric

I just signed up through your link. How long do I have to use the $5 credit? Is there a minimum purchase?

    • Eric

Never mind. I see the expiration date on the site.
