i have a recommendation– we use these and have tried MANY dishwashing soaps. these are the best, though of course more expensive than other types of detergents.
SOOO, i tried an experiment about 2 years ago, and have saved money ever since. i break the tablet while it is still in the package. i use 2/3 of the piece for washing a full load. i save the other little piece, and when i have 2 smaller pieces that are each 1/3 of a tab, i put those in for a full load wash. (i know, only half of my loads have the “powerball” red thing, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.)
each box of the tabs lasts about 33% longer that way, and my dishes are always clean and spot-free.
FYI, our water is super hard, and this still works. i imagine if you have nice, soft water your results would be excellent, too. you probably don’t need a full tab if your city water is good.
