I really like the style of these jeans and the price can’t be beat. Am I the only one disappointed in the quality, though? I got these jeans at this price last fall and the knees didn’t even make it through the season. Every single one ripped because the material is so thin. I have 5 and 7 yr old boys and they’re very active but the jeans should have at least made it through the winter. Anyone else run into this? Suggestions for a higher quality brand that isn’t very expensive?

Hi- I have a couple pairs of old navy toddler jeans. They have been worn by two of my girls and they still look pretty good. That being said, they were pretty pricey. I don’t think they go on sale much. Hth!

    • jen

In my experience it’s pretty typical for that age range for both boys and girls to wear holes in their knees no matter what brand you buy. I have 4 kids (2 boys and 2 girls) and all of them have worn holes thru the knees from about age 5-10. GL!

    • wishinitwas

I had the same problem. I still buy them but not for playing as much as for nicer occasions. My ds would wear holes in the knee one time literally the 3rd day he wore them to school. No suggestions but I totally agree with you!

    • Nicole

I agree with the holes in the knees for Children’s place jean for my 7 yr old boy. Old Navy jeans seem to hold up a little better and I try to get them on sale. I ordered some maybe a month ago when they were $6 a pair.

Kohl’s Levi’s I think have a 1 year money back/replacement on their jeans. It says right on the Levi tag not the Kohl’s tag and it is even for holes in the knees.

Yup a bought a bunch of these jeans last school year and every single pair are torn now. But… My boys pretty rough. For the price i can’t complain. I just make sure to put a couple jeans aside for when I want them looking nicer.

Yes, unfortunately CP jeans wear out FAST! I had the same problem with my 6 year old boy last fall. some of his CP jeans got maybe 5 wears before the holes started. He wore through a pair of Old Navy jeans last year too but maybe not as quickly as the CP.
I just checked his drawer and the only jeans with no holes are a pair of Mossimo from Target (they are the light color denim and you can feel the difference between them and the CP jeans) and a pair of Levis. And another pair that I think came from Kmart? Said “Authentic Graphite” that’s all I could find. So I don’t really know what those are.

You can’t beat this deal. I had a 25% off coupon, plus and extra 5% for using my TCP credit card. I scored 3 pairs of boys jeans, 2 long-sleeved shirts and 2-short sleeved shirts for $28.86 shipped. Got 2% cash back from Shop At Home and $10 in Place Cash. For that price, buy double the jeans and throw them out when they wear! You can’t even get Walmart brand jeans for these prices

I had the same problem and my 3 year old only wore them indoors on the winter and they only lasted 3 months tops. I was tempted to get them again at this price but just not sure if it is worth it if they end up with holes in the knees so quickly.

    • Gpcar

This happened to me with my 7 year old as well. All of his jeans from here have rips in the knee. To be fair, so do his khakis from Gap. Levi’s that we bought at Costco have held up great, though!

spent a good $70 dollars on newest arrivals on clothes and shoes! I am so thankful for this posting, I usually don’t notice sales until after everyone has ordered all the sizes I need online, so I have to go in store, which this store is in the mall and I hate going into the mall! I love the jeans from childrens place, I love the way they look and they are comfy for my toddler, I also got $30 in cash rewards to spend in September, Thanks collin!

  5. Kiwi

I have a very active 4 year old and he has never made a hole in his jeans. I think the quality is great, but this is just my experience.

  6. leanne

What a great deal! Thanks Colin! We swear by TCP jeans! Can’t beat this price for the regular denim.

    • nicolegammeter

      You are welcome! 🙂

I agree that the quality of children’s place jeans has changed a little since I first started buying them 3 or 4 years ago. With that said though, they are still good jeans and you’ll be hard-pressed to find jeans with any greater quality at this price. I’ve bought jeans from several children’s apparel stores over the years and they all wear out faster than I’d like them to. However, I’d rather keep replacing them at $6/pair than $20.

  8. shirley

I love the TCP’s jeans. They look great and hold up pretty well. I will keep buying until TCP does not have the size for my kids anymore.

    • Mayra

Lol this made me laugh! I’ve been buying this jeans for my kids for years and I was sad when my now 14 yr old outgrew this store..jeans get preety pricey after TCP

  9. Maia

What’s the deal with the boys skinny jeans? Boys really wear these tight pants? My son only wants the loose fit (which there is only one of) or utility/carpenter style and there aren’t any 🙁

    • Cassandra

It’s just another style. Many boys wear these jeans. They still sell the regular style in stores like JC Penney.

    • Shauna

Agree!!! We love the carpenter style for our oldest son and they don’t have them this year.

      • holly

Ditto on the carpenter style, just like his daddy wears to work.

        • Krissy

          They clearanced out the carpenter
          /utility jeans a few months
ago. I got 6 pair for my son (they were only $4 a pair) because they are his favorite. Hope they bring them back!

          • Maia

I hope they bring the carpenter style next year, too. I bought some of them when they were in clearance as well but I thought they offered them every year.

  10. Kristina

Thank you! I look forward to this sale every year to stock up on demin for my 4 children for the next year! Can’t beat $6 for a pair of jeans! I can’t complain about the quality. They seem to hold up well with my children!

    • Abby

The knees do get worn but my son actually puts holes in the knees in Gymboree jeans faster than he does these!

Do you know when the 20% expires?
