Great idea–I did the same. And since my kids have bdays where the elf is already around (Nov. 29 and Dec. 6–he actually shows up for their bdays), we will write a letter for him to come for their “half birthdays”!!

My B&N’s clearance always sucks. They never clearance anything good.

Ummm epic awesomeness. It is all currently hiding in the back of my car till my husband goes to work tomorrow…. (He’ll find out tomorrow morning when he looks at our bank statement) 😉 now have Christmas covered, which I know is a bad thing with all the other epic deals to come! Haha I got the last zoom green Dino robot for $25, play mobile dinosaur set for $13, dinosaur memory game, Melissa and Doug car stack $5, lots of wooden puzzles… I could go on and on it was a landmine. I now have a b&n membership… It’s over half paid for already :😁☺️

Just got back from my local B&N and they had about 10 birthday elves left! They had lots of books, cute journals, cute little soaps that end up being $1.25! & my fave find was the kids Light Up Turtles forget what they’re called…CLOUD B LIGHT UP TURTLES I think. 😍
There were a married pair of resellers literally blocking the tables while they used their phones to scan each bar code. I, literally, grabbed 4 baskets, went around them and grabbed anything I thought was great. I quickly ran away to another area of the store to go through what I wanted. I overheard a mother complaining that she wanted to look at the Minecraft figures she just saw on the table a few minutes earlier. I shouldn’t have to go to another section of a store !!
I picked up 7 boxes of the Classic Solitaire game and a card game for donations to senior citizens for xmas. I bought two lunch boxes for a donation to a kids charity. This site has really helped me with donations.

Why can’t you use your Christmas elf to show up for the kids birthday? Why do you have to buy a whole other elf?

Whoa, glad I squeezed this trip in! Craft kits from American Girl, Fashion Angels, and My Studio Girl, cute magnetic bookmarks for kids, stationary sets, really nice quality notecards, board and card games, nice puzzles by Lang, high quality hand lotion and decorative soaps, artists sketch pencil set … $230 worth of stuff for just under $60! And I only bought stuff I knew I could use/give, had to turn my back on all kinds of other great stuff!
And yes, bday elf set was there. Funny side note: they were hauling in Elf on the Shelf sets on dollies while I was there. “Here they come” said the employee pushing them in. 😆
Picked up ; first science kit, first excavating Dino kit, 2 Alex knit & wear kits, ace genuine poker set, Jonod underwater puzzle(beautiful!) with carrying case & mudpuppy stencils all for $45.82…great haul.. Will have to check this afternoon for elf as they were still adding more items to clearance 🙂

I got 6 things for $20! Super Mario bros checkers, barrel of monkeys ($1.72!), a finger puppet making kit, etc… the sales girls said they will put more on clearance as Christmas approaches!
