Just wanted to thank you for posting about Pinecone. My husband actually applied for it and does surveys all year-long (he’s a stay at home dad). It hardly takes any time at all and sometimes we even get free things to try out. We saved up our points all year-long to use towards holiday shopping. He checked his balance just now and we have almost $250 in credit to cash out with! We were amazed. I would have never heard about Pinecone, or assumed it was a fake scam, without your posts!

(Thanks, Rachel!)

My husband signed up too and we have around $60 so far and have received 3 products to try!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for the feedback Deidre!

    • bharri

can two(husband and wife) from same family sign up?

  2. Andrea

I love pinecone. I’ve made over $150 practically doing nothing. I’ve also got to try some new products.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      That’s great Andrea!

  3. Elizabeth

I am a part of Pinecone Research and I actually got something to try in the mail today! It is super easy to take the surveys. I like how they have household questions to answer to pre-screen you for surveys so you don’t have to try taking a bunch of surveys and end up getting a bunch of “Sorry you don’t qualify for this survey” messages. They also have great customer service, from my experience. Also a tip, if you won’t be able to take surveys for awhile let them know ahead of time so you don’t get cut from lack of activity. I did this when we moved, I wasn’t going to have wifi for 2 weeks and emailed the person in charge of my surveys to let them know.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for such a great review on this Elizabeth! Good to know!

      • Elizabeth

Thank you for all your hard work and for being so sweet and encouraging!

  4. Allison

Unfortunately it said there were no openings for my profile and the questions I Answered. Hopefully one day! Thanks for posting About this though Collin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  5. Angela V.

Signed up about 9 mos ago and have earned about $100, plus received several samples to try. Some of the surveys seem long, but overall I enjoy doing it. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Oh awesome!

  6. Carrie

I signed up for it from the last time you posted this Colin, thank you! It hasn’t been long but it looks like I have $18 worth of stuff on my credit page. Hopefully it will reach the $100 mark (hopefully even more!) for my shopping next year. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are very welcome Carrie!

  7. Me

If you get a message that says thank you for signing up does that me you were accepted? This is the first time I have tried this site I a while and forget the messages I get when rejected.

  8. Tarri

I have been with Pinecone for years when it used to be $5 a survey. I am still doing them even though they are $3 and I don’t think they are as long, so I think it comes out the same.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Cool! Thanks for sharing Tarri!

Joined about 4 months ago. I cashed one small check. It’s slow for me.
I get about one survey per week even though for the last month I set it on “unlimited.” Could be because most of the products are not something I am interested in trying. And for the ones I said I would give a try if offered, I heard nothing about/no samples in the mail, so not sure how that works.

Unfortunately, sometimes I do not earn credit if there is a technical error 🙁 Once the options for selecting a number were sliders (some odd thing), so I could not select a number from the menu/did not complete the survey even though I was on the last step and spent about 15 minutes on it. Another time they had a follow up question and their system kept taking me back to their homepage instead of the question. And since they have expiration dates on surveys their solution was “wait for the next survey” instead of giving credit for nearly completing those surveys. Aside from technical issues it could be worth it for some people. I hope it gets to be more fun for me, waiting… They do ask if the survey was interesting, so that’s a nice touch 🙂

    • Susan

Olga, your post was helpful because I’ve done Pinecone for years and never knew you could change the frequency of surveys. I just went in and changed mine to unlimited. Thank you!

    • Allie

I also realized just now from your post that I can change the frequency. Thanks, Olga!

  10. Christine

I made it through the registration process, so hopefully I get picked for some surveys;)

  11. Lori

Highly recommend. I’ve set my surveys to “unlimited” and average about one a week. I love that once they send you an actual survey (not one labeled “household questions”) you can’t be disqualified as with other sites. I once had a technical issue, which was resolved quickly after a single email. Very professional survey site!

  12. Erica

I have been doing it for about 6 months now and I have about $100. I haven’t received any products to try yet. I am listed as unlimited but only receive about one a week. So all in all its ok I will continue to do it. I hope it picks up a little since I am a stay at home mom. Thanks Colin!

  13. Rebecca

I have been doing pine cone for several months now and confused by the comments. How are people getting money? All I get is points for their reward items.

    • Toni

Go to the redeem tab. Select featured awards on the left hand side. The very bottom one is cash option.

    • kim

It is slightly confusing but do exactly as toni stated. You can then redeem every 300 points for $3 cash reward 🙂

    • hello

Or if you go to the reward tab and search “$3.00 cash” it will show up as well. 300 points=$3.

  14. Linda

There’s no openings for me it says.

  15. imawaken

    no more spot

  16. Nicole

I’ve made prob $30 the past couple months as well. Super easy extra $$$

  17. John

So far I’ve made just under $100 and have been sent a few different products to try. So far so good.

  18. The Beauty Stalker

    No spot for me. -.-‘

  19. Kaylan

I don’t understand how you cash out for money. All I see are points that I have. All I can see is that I can redeem my points for items. How to you get $? Can someone please help? Thanks!

    • Kaylan

nevermind, figured it out. Got a check coming in the mail. Woohoo! Thanks for posting otherwise I’d never of known of the cash option. Love unexpected $!

  20. April

I love pinecone research. I have received several products to test so far. They are the best 🙂

  21. TinaH.

No spots for middle age white women. 😛

    • Kay

Or 30something multi racial women 😭 lol

    • DonnaDB

      Yep!

  22. Susi

I am signed up, over a year now. I get 5-6 surveys a month, but have never been chosen for a product test 🙁

  23. Jenna

I signed up almost a year ago and have loved it! I’ve cashed out about $130 so far, nothing crazy, but for a few minutes of answering questions, it’s definitely worth it. (Plus, as a college student it’s always nice to be able to get an extra $20 or so every now and then when I need it). I’ve also received three products to sample, and that’s always a nice surprise to get in the mail. On average I get about a survey a week, but there’s some periods I’ll have a whole bunch in a short amount of time, and then none for a while, so it really just depends. Definitely make sure you keep up with them or they’ll stop sending them if you don’t answer the ones they give you.

  24. Brittany

I am not sure if I got accepted or not… do they email you and tell you? After completing the questions it says “Thank you for responding to these last few questions and completing the member registration process. It will be recorded as complete after you finish with this screen. We will then process this information and, based on your responses, place your name into the queue for survey selection. When selected, you will receive notification by email of your new survey assignment. Thanks for your help, we look forward to being able to include you in future surveys.”

  25. Jenn

Woohoo I was accepted. Can’t wait. Thanks for the info.

Ive been a member for about 2 months and have made $20, but just switched my profile to unlimited surveys so hopefully I’ll start getting more soon…they’re really not that bad, a little mundane maybe. Most have taken me around 15-20 minutes to complete…I would recommend doing them on a computer rather than your phone though because some things they ask you to do are difficult without a proper mouse/trackpad.

  28. Karen

I have applied a handful times and I never meet what they are looking for…. Whatever that could be.

    • Felita1

Same with me! Always tells me “Don’t have anything that fits my profile”! But the only thing I answer is my name and address and if I do all the shopping. Don’t understand what type of profile they are looking for! SMH

      • Brittany

I wonder if they only use so many people from certain zip codes?

  29. Samantha

Wasn’t accepted ☹ anyone else have any legit survey sites that they would recommend? Earning some extra cash would be awesome!!

  30. TS

I have been doing multiple survey sites over the years and this one is by far the best! I have about $300 in my account and am just saving it there for either Christmas or whenever it’s needed. Surveys are not long and are $3 each and I’ve even been shipped multiple free products to try and get paid $3 for my feedback on the products.

  31. Kim T

I’ve been a member for about a year. Got three surveys, no cash, and only 1400 points. Not sure why I’m not getting paid or more surveys?

  32. N. Stevens

Yasss Honey! I got an acceptance email this morning. It states I will receive my first survey with in a week. I’m on the Pew Research American Trends Panel, and the extra cash I earn from their surveys comes in handy. I took a 30 min survey last week and Pew mailed me a $10 check the next day. $10 for one survey…I hope Pinecone can compare.

  33. VS

I have been doing surveys with Pinecone research since May. I have 50.00 in my account and so far, I have tried out 2 products. 😀

  34. heather

I love PineCone Research. Been with it for about a year now. Originally got a nice Cabella’s sleeping bag w/rewards points, but just recently changed to check payout and got a $45 check within a week of request! Erewards and MyPoints also has surveys which can be redeemed for United Mileage. After a couple years of my husband and I doing surveys, we’ve almost got enough miles for 4 tix to Tokyo!!!
