I’m happy to entertain! ๐Ÿ™‚ It is all fun and games until your Mom brings the situation up during the “joys and concerns” portion of church…. and the congregation joins in on her plight to get you engaged while you try to blend in with the pew. Wait… doesn’t that happen to everyone?

Got one for my daughter and my son’s fiancee. Awesome …

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Ha ha, I totally understand about our significant other getting the hint! My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 11 years! The other night we let our family know that we will be tying the knot next fall!!!!!! I am so glad that I can get this magazine, thank you Collin!!

    • Emily

I am so excited for you… and a little jealous. I thought 9 years was bad but you’re giving me hope that it’ll eventually happen. Hopefully, not in another 2 years.

LOL!!!! Well how about living together and being engaged for five years yet no formal ring??? ๐Ÿ˜• lol

    • Ashlyn

Haha! no worries, I think I got my rings a week before my wedding! We had been together 6 years. Hey, just as long as you have them before the ACTUAL wedding day, right?? ;D

are there any catches for these free subscriptions? My sister is getting married in April and this would be a cool thing to just show up in her mailbox ๐Ÿ™‚

Ladies, if it’s been THAT long of an engagement/boyfriend type of relationship – ESPECIALLY if you are living together – THINK!! For some reason, with guys – the paper CONTRACT is VERY binding – like CHAINS! I’d get rid of the guy! You’ll be missing out on IF you were to remain married to him and were able to receive his portion – to help you out after he’s died. Also, if you’re married for a portion of time – UNTIL Congress gets rid of this one – Married for 10yrs and divorce – you can STILL draw off of him when you retire – GREAT for the receiver, but, that’s one of the problems w/SS solvency – more than one person could draw off the guy – someone whom marries 3 or more times – each lasting more than 10 yrs – could ALL of the exes draw SS off of the HIGHEST SS of their own or the ex? Anyway, DUMP THE LOSERS!!!

    • Sigh

This thread is lighthearted and fun. Don’t bring it down. You don’t know people’s situations. Your weird awkward rant probably won’t make anyone here dump anyone.

WINNER Ding! Ding! Ding! You win the turd in the puch bowl award of the day on H2Save. Don’t ruin our party!!!

You know absolutely nothing about our situation. Nothing. My long-term boyfriend is certainly not a loser. For all you know we have been together since we were 15 and have waited 9 years because we were going to school and we are too young to get married. Or we are in the military and have been on deployments and planning a wedding hasn’t been on our mind. Or maybe we are happy and don’t need the paper to make us happy. Or maybe despite having a great job he doesn’t feel like he makes enough money to start a family and having a wife is starting his own family and he is saving every penny he can to build a large safety net to support us. He isn’t a loser for taking his time and planning. The last thing I want is a pity proposal because people are pressuring him or calling him a loser. He is awesome and we are happy. If more people took their time, maybe the divorce rate would be lower. You made it seem like the best reason to get married is so you will get money when he dies. How romantic.. When I think about him dying, I do not think about his money, I burst into tears at the idea of him not being here. I don’t need his money, I have my own. We are the beneficiaries of each other’s life insurance without being married. Before you start judging people that you don’t know, maybe realize that you are not the first person to tell us that we need to get married or get off the pot, and you won’t be the last. Even so, I’m going to bed, where I happily sleep next to the love of my life and a wedding ring won’t change anything about that situation.

Kudos to you. Sounds like your marriage will last the rest of your lives once it happens. If it doesn’t then who cares – you know how much you love each other and no ring or piece of paper will change that.
