Restaurant.com: $25 Gift Certificate ONLY $4.25

Here’s what you’ll need to do…

*Click here to find a restaurant in your neighborhood (you can search by zip code or city)

*Browse through the list of participating restaurants in your area (you will be able to view the menu, location, and phone # for each restaurant)

*Pick your restaurant and the appropriate certificate amount and then click add to cart; be sure to read the restaurant’s special instructions before purchasing the certificate; many restaurants require that you make a minimum purchase, many add 18% gratuity prior to the certificate being applied, some may state valid for food or dinner only, and some may restrict the days that the certificate can be used (i.e. Monday-Friday only).

I read the details…thought it seemed like a great deal. The restaurant I chose said that you have to spend $50 on one visit. So I bought $100 worth. Thought that I could use 2 certificates at once. It doesn’t say BEFORE you checkout that you CANNOT do
that. Once you check out, it says…only one certificate can be used per table per visit so in essence you still pay the first $25 out of pocket when you go there. I think that is VERY SHADY.

You can exchange your certificates for different restaurants if you want. Since you bought $100 worth of cert. to one restaurant, sign into your account and next to your list of certificates there is a button to make an exchange. So you can trade each of your certificates for others that total the same. So a $25 can be exchanged for another $25, or a $10 and $15, etc.

Also, it tells you BEFORE you buy the certificates what the minimum purchase must be at each restaurant.

Code also works on the smaller denominations. Just got a $15 gift certificate to a local Taqueria for $2.55! And yes, you do have to spend $30, but still…..$17.55 for $30 worth of food is a good deal.

      Great score Karen!

Thanks Hip2Save! We go to Los Cucos in Sandy, UT ALL. THE. TIME. This is a great deal on something I was going to buy full price anyway. I think I may even go tonight…

      You’re welcome Manda! Enjoy!

I bought a certificate for one of our local restaurants and tried using it today. They had a sign up by the cash register that stated they would no longer accept Restaurant.com certificates and to contact restaurant.com for a refund. Customer service was nice and did credit my account but there are very few places near me where this can be used. Not really a great deal for me. Hope it works out better for others.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh bummer. Sorry to hear that Shelley. Hope you can find another that will be accepted at a restaurant near you!

      • Kimberly

Ours also did this same thing. They are on the list but will not accept

    • Vicki

I called the restaurant I was interested before purchasing, just to be sure they were accepting them. Didn’t want to come up run into that.

If it turns out you can’t use a certificate for some reason or other, you can exchange it for other restaurants at any time. there is no expiration on exchanges.

thank you collin! we have a new gastro pub/wine bar that opened in our city, so i was able to grab a $10 gift certificate for $1.70 for my hubby’s stocking! since it’s only valid on food, i figure we can easily spend the $20 on that and enjoy some cocktails as well……will make a great date night after the holidays! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Aww, that’s great!

    • vicki

so i ended up going back and purchasing a 2nd certificate to a restaurant that has been in our city since the 1930’s, that we’ve heard has excellent food, yet we’ve just never been to. another great stocking stuffer for a future date night in the new year! i just wish we had more selection in my city to choose from.

You can exchange your gift certificates after you buy them for certificates to other restaurants, if you want.

So if the restaurant you really want does not have certs available right now (which often happens at the end of the months), or if you just can’t decide right now, go ahead and buy a certificate to ANY restaurant. Later, you can exchange it…..so if you buy a $25 to a so-so restaurant, you can exchange it for another $25 at a different restaurant, or a $10 and $15 to others, etc.

THIS DOES NOT EXPIRE. I bought about $200 in certs four years ago when I lived in Pittsburgh, and I’m still exchanging the ones i did not use for new certs for restaurants here in Illinois since I moved back home, lol
