My almost 10 year old daughter wants something to build with. We have Legos and blocks. Would these be too juvenile for her?
Probably not! My 10.5 year old son is an excellent builder and still plays with his set. My 5.5 year old daughter also plays with them. They fight over the pieces, though, so I’ll definitely be getting this set!
I’ve been eyeing this kind of toy that helps with creativity but are always kinda expensive, this is great! thanks!
Perfect! You are so welcome Ellie!
How do I get it to recognize free shipping for rewards member?
You need to sign up for the FREE Staples Rewards Program and then once you add this item to your cart, it will ship free (just be sure you are signed into your rewards account!).
The link takes me to signup for a staples.com account but not a staples rewards account. It says they are different. How do I get a rewards # online? Everything asks for a rewards number or is staples.com only that I can find.
The site advertises free shipping for $25+ order for rewards members. Is it ANY order or staples site correct that needs to be $25?
Any size order from Staples.com ships Free when you are a rewards member. Hope that helps!
I was really excited to see this post but it looks like TinkerToys are now plastic? I might be dating myself but when I was little they were wooden. (I’m 35 so it wasn’t THAT long ago) 🙂 Can anyone confirm if TinkerToys are wooden or plastic?
They are plastic, they’re great though. My mom still has a set of wood ones, and I find the plastic ones to be easier to work with.
They are plastic!
I hate that these are plastic. We had them before and they didn’t last any time at all.
I’m not sure but I just ordered two sets and was able to ship to store for free.
Awesome!
I was debating about getting these but for this price, debate is over. I also did free ship to store. Thanks! My little girl will be happy to add to her collection and build bigger things.
You’re welcome Susan!
There’s no box pictured on the Staples site, but if it’s the right one on Amazon they had a video. Video says some rod pieces are bendable to make other shapes. All pieces snap together, so no falling apart like the old wooden ones did. If the sets were still wood, they would be a lot more expensive.
Thanks for the reviews. I got a set. If I decide not to give it to my 3 year old then I’ll save for the gift closet. Sounds like its great for a wide age range… boys and girls! perfect.!
Glad you could snag a set!
