Why is it asking for my ssn? Is this just for military families?
Emily, yes, the Exchange is only for military, active duty, retired, and I forget the rest of the criteria, but yes, they will ask for our SSN to verify eligibility.

Glad to see the great deals posted for military families. We take for granted that family will be together at Christmas and easily forget that’s just not possible for a lot of military families. We thank you for your service and appreciate the sacrifices you make for us.

Thank you for your kind words. My husband deployed 2 weeks after our second baby was born and was gone during Christmas. It was a hard time for us!
I understand what you’re saying but they willingly enlist. They know that there’s a high possibility that they will be away from family, and they must be ok with it if they enlisted. My point is that they know they will be separated from their family at some point. They willingly sacrifice when they enlist.
It takes a special person to willingly serve, just as it takes a special person to be a first responder, both who run toward the danger as most run for their own safety. Aren’t we so fortunate to have people willing to choose that path.

No trying to influence anyone against utilizing their benefit, if eligible, at the Exchange, but we were in need of a new artificial tree just before Christmas. Hated paying the before Christmas prices but found a great tree at Lowe’s and it was LED. We will never go back to regular lights. This LED tree had like 20 different setting for the lights. It was like we had a different tree every night it had so many different settings. The tree was regularly over $300, but half price right before Christmas and then Lowe’s is great about giving a military discount so another 10%. We love, love love it, and thankfully, we got it when we did as there were no more after Christmas.
The exchange is typically way over priced. No worries!

What is the exact website. We have a family of former and active military and I know some who could really use a tree for next year, they missed out this year with different things going on in their life. I would be a great if they could get a tree, better late then never 🙂
