   The samsonite luggage is great but the set that I have is so heavy, even when empty. I liked my older, cheaper stuff better. I also don’t think that the set I have has held up all that well but my parents took it to China and back and the airline bag handlers were not so kind to it, but it still works.

   I travel A LOT! Air travel will be hard on luggage no matter if it is expensive or cheap. I usually buy whatever is on clearance at Marshall’s or T.J.Maxx and whichever bag is the lightest. Most of the time I never have to pay of $50 or $60 dollars for a piece of luggage and wind up replacing it every year. Baggage handlers are cruel to your luggage (I even had a Roku, laptop charger, an emergency $25 dollar stash of csh in my socks and medication stolen from inside my bag). If they don’t respect your contents, they sure aren’t going to respect the outside. Keep your eyes open throughout the year for clearance items BEFORE you have to travel.
