Your balance should show the amount. I believe it was limited to the first 20,000 to do this though.

I registered with a card also but I didn’t get the credit I put STARS in on the promo section. Not sure what I could have done wrong.

After you buy the card, click on it like you are going to pay with it. This should cause the card to refresh and will show the $5 reward. Hope this helps.

Click the refresh sign on your card, if you don’t see the $5 bonus it should show once you refresh your balance. Worked for me.

if this is relevant to anyone — i did this deal in the past, and the free drink was only coffee or tea.
In Tucson in June, it was HOT, and i was pregnant, and they said i could only have coffee or tea! i asked could they please just let me have free water or anything else cold or a soft drink.
I was also purchasing a sandwich at regular price, and even then they said they don’t give away water to customers.
i would have been happy with just tap water in a cup i could take with me to run the rest of my errands, i explained i didn’t even need free bottled water. i thought this was unreasonable of them.
If you are a coffee drinker, this is probably a great deal. it did not sound refreshing to me, and i didn’t want coffee during my pregnancies anyway.
The Dunkin Donuts perks states you can get any free beverage regardless of size for your perk rewards. You DO NOT have to purchase coffee or tea. Dunkin has several beverages in the summer such as smoothies and frozen drinks if you are not in the mood to drink coffee. Dunkin also sells decaffeinated tea or coffee. You get a free beverage every 200 points earned!
thank you– i wish i had had a copy of Perks Rewards terms & conditions handy. i just took the employees’ statements as fact at the time. i did not think to start digging around online while at the register and see if i could challenge the cashier.
i wonder if they have updated the perks since last year, or made the terms clearer in the program?
actually, i just pulled up the email from 2015 that i got about my award last time i did this. here is what the email says in the Perks Rewards T&C:
“A Reward Coupon for a free single serve beverage (any size) will be issued for every 200 Perks Points earned. A free beverage is defined as any size single serve hot or iced coffee, tea, latte, hot chocolate or Coolatta®, and excludes all bottled cooler beverages (e.g. bottled water, soda, milk, or bottled juice)”
to be clear, i did not expect a bottled item out of the cooler. i just asked for tap water in a cup. (this should be free to paying customers anyway, even without a reward program.)
but i had not read the T&C first, and this seems to clearly indicate coffee or tea beverages. NOT smoothies, etc. my fault. i had thought it would be nice if i could get a lemonade or other soft drink or something when i signed up.
perhaps program is different now.

Yes, Miss Baileys reply is correct. And if anyone here ever feels like they receive poor service, bad product, etc. please let DD customer service know – (there’s a contact us on the app) I did one time and they replied to me promptly and gave me a free drink.
I’m a frequent customer to DD and had a few issues lately which I’ve reported to corporate. DD’s corporate response has be been lacking. They have a new line of espresso drink (likely to compete with Starbucks) & there has been very spotty training about how to prepare them. On several occasions, they’ve been undrinkable or I’ve received barely half full cups. DD’s corporate customer service refers it to the stores & the response from them is basically “oh, sorry”. Pretty pathetic when they’re charging nearly Starbucks pricing!

It still worked for me just now, at 8:45pm eastern time. Followed the steps just as Collin presented them. Then used the tip the other poster mentioned by tapping as if I were going to pay (don’t just tap Pay, also then tap the card itself–then it will refresh again and show your new total with the $5 bonus included). Yay! 🙂
I just did it at 9:15pm and I got the $5 credit!! It didn’t show up until I refreshed.
Worked for me. Got a coupon for free drink with no mention of $5 credit. Went in and refreshed gift card balance with the little refresh symbol next to the balance and magically it was increased by $5! Thanks!! (Just did this 5 minutes ago)
