I would like to give this a try, but a little nervous about switching brands. I’ve been using the frontline on my pup and he hasn’t had any flea or ticks. The price difference is pretty significant…. maybe that’s what worries me.

I’ve been using PetArmor Plus for almost a year on our puppy, and we have never seen any ticks on here. Living in MN, we see ticks all the time; they are already out!! I highly recommend PetArmor Plus.

      • anna

Thank you Steph!. I was hoping to get some feedback before I try.

    • Erica

I use it too. I think it’s awesome! No fleas or ticks on our kitties

    • Emily

We had only ever used frontline for our dog and never once had a flea or tick. We switched to this over the winter and have still never seen a flea or tick. We had a mild winter so the ticks were still out and we needed to continue protecting her. We were happy with the results and have applied it this month as well and again, no fleas or ticks. We’re happy with it and once you switch, you’re going to LOVE their tubes. They are 1000x’s easier to open than Frontline!

Does flea and tick medicine have expiration dates? I’d love to stock up, but don’t want to buy too much if it expires quickly.

Of course I just bought 3 of these today! Will be returning and purchase again, lol. Thank You!!!!!!!

I tried Pet Armor Plus last summer after reading such good reviews from people about the plain pet armor (not pet armor plus). I always used frontline but was trying to save a bit of money. I bought a package for my small dog and my large dog. It had such a horrible chemical smell, I actually felt bad and the smell was so strong to me I couldn’t imagine how strong it must have been to them. I felt awful about it and ended up not using the other two applications in each package. I looked it up online and found a lot of similar complaints about the pet armor plus – just wondering if anyone else had experienced that? Maybe they have changed something and it no longer gibes off such a strong smell? I would give it a try again if I knew it wasn’t going to smell so strong.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry to hear about the strong smell Carrie. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

    • Emily

We’ve used it for the last 4 months and do not have any chemical smell that I notice.

    • Rachel

Carrie we used it not that long ago on our cat and the next day she could barely eat and was real lathargic. It took about a week for her to return to normal. We will not be using this product again.

There’s a cartwheel for 20% off Pet Armor Plus. Can you use cartwheel when price matching? Thanks in advance!

    • Ashley

Nevermind, I just read the Target price match policy. Cartwheel cannot be combined with a price match. Darn 🙁

I’ve used frontline and started to use pet armor about a yr ago. Our lab had a reaction to the product — it wasn’t horrible but it became apparent about 6 months in. She was loosing hair by the clumps in the application area. We discontinue immediately. I think it was a slow progression that we didn’t notice at first and then it was like BAM! Anyway we decided to change to the Seresto 8 month collar. I just purchased another one on Amazon for $46 and it last 8 months. Very similar price to this petamour product. This is the second purchase of this product and we are really pleased!! No more chemicals. Don’t have to worry about reapplying. No issues with small kids touching the collar. I think it’s a much better solution without applying pesticides directly to our dogs skin. Our lab is 13.6 years old! So I don’t think we did anything wrong with the liquid flea and tic but I really like the collar and the vet I go to has been using it on her 4 dogs for the last few years.

    • kari

Good to know… Was thinking of switching to this collar, heard was a great alternative option to frontline! Thanks for the Amazon tip too!

      • Jamie

If you do, make sure you watch your dogs closely for a reaction. There are quite a few reviews on Amazon stating their dogs developed rashes within a few hours – a few days of putting the collar on. Not everybody’s did, so I am sure it depend on the dog…just like we react to medicine.

      • Lisa

You are welcome. FYI — You may be able to find it even cheaper. I had an Amazon gift card so I wanted to use it and it was about $5 more? I stick with USA companies like Entirely pets and chewy.com. Very reliable companies. I tend to order through them directly but sometimes Amazon has their products and it can be a better price. When I ordered —entirely pets had them on sale (they provided a code at check out and the ode was in their home page). I ordered thru Amazon from entirely pets which included shipping charges (I don’t have prime). Hope that helps.

And I will add a plug for chewy.com. My dog is in early kidney failure and we buy prescription dog food from them. Awesome company and service. I get the food within 2 days delivered to my door. No more running to the vet. Actually costs me a little less then the vet too. Prices are pretty standardized in the prescription foods. I buy Hills KD.

        • Emily

I love chewy! We had our dog’s prescription food on a subscription plan and she died suddenly, (at age 15) right after a new shipment arrived. I called to see if I could return the unopened package. They were so great about it. Refunded my money and told me to donate the food.
