I was just at my local target. I talked to both the manager and the person they called the asset manager. They both told me target would no longer accept internet printed coupons. I am really sad about this as target is a great place to get deals using them. I am thinking of contacting their corporate offices to see if this is really true. Have you heard anything about this?
    Thanks

    • Karen

Rita, my local Target is also no longer taking Internet printed coupons. I hope this policy doesn’t last.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh Bummer! Super sorry to hear that Rita! 🙁 Their policy sure does not exclude printable coupons.

    • Nikita varney

Its up to the manager and how she feel that day… she/he can say that its a copy and wont take it…It happen to me! I even use the red phone at target to talk to customer service. Target can now make their on policy ..that what customer service told me.

According to Target’s coupon policy, internet coupon is still accepted (for now??):
    https://help.target.com/help/subcategoryarticle?childcat=Coupon+policy
    ——
    Internet (Print-at-Home) Coupons:
We gladly accept valid internet coupons with a scannable barcode.
We do not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.
    ——
Are they planning to change the policy soon?
But for now, I think you can still use internet coupons, show them the online policy if they refuse to.

Too many extreme couponers are making pdf copies of coupons and clearing shelves and even selling copies of pdf coupons. It’s unfortunate.

      This is so true!

Last week when I was at a Target here in Austin, TX, I had 4 legit printed copies of a coupon for Oral B toothbrushes. A manager had to be called over to check (and she did so very carefully), they said they are doing that now. I understand the need for checking for fraud, and it is too bad some bad apples ruin the barrel!

I phoned back my local target from home and evidently talked to a different “manager”. I read her the internet coupon policy and told her what happened to me. She said they were still accepting internet coupons and to bring them in. I took them to her at the store and she verified they were legit. evidently they had an overzealous “asset manager” guy. she said she would talk to him. I asked her if I could have a gift card for my trouble of having to make 2 trips to the store and she gave me a $5 gift card.

awesome thank you for posting this deal I just got back and I only had to pay 1.11 for 4 bottles of mouth wash. A nice fellow couponer was there with her binder full and gave me a coupon cause I was short one of the 2.00 off ones. I went to self check out and one of the coupons wouldn’t work but the nice cashier manually put it through. I didn’t get the GC at first I asked the cashier about it and she said oh you should have and just gave me 5.00 cash back instead. Not all Targets are bad this was a awesome deal thanks again Collin I have mouthwash for awhile now 🙂 I got them all for free really just payed some tax for them.

      How cool! You’re so welcome!

Did 4 mouthwashes, 3 toothbrush sets, 1 twin pack toothpaste and had an issue with the toothpaste $2 coupon scanning as 8 cents…spent longer-than-necessary time at customer service figuring it out because they (cs and cs supervisor) were being very careful checking the coupons again and trying to understand what and where each coupon goes. So it can be a hassle (a lil time consuming). Our church runs a food pantry that has benefited greatly from couponing. And there are low-income members of the church that have seen how it can help them save $ too. Thanks Hipsters for providing these deal scenarios to help those who want to help others.

    • Maddison

you where able to do the deal 4 different times for the mouthwash so you got 16 of them?

      • AndreaCOMO

I bought total of 8 items in same transaction. I have 2 computers. There were enough left for others so I def did not clear shelves. I went after lunch too. I do try to be consciencious of others. (Missouri)

        • Misti

I didn’t know how many times we can do the deal I thought it was just to get 4 with the 30% off. I don’t use the cartwheel often so wasn’t sure it would work again. So I think I should be able to go back and get 4 more things sense I already got 4 yesterday. I go only mouthwashes so I wanted to get some toothbrushes and 1 more mouthwash.

        • Maddison

I was meaning it more as we can get the deal more than once? Not that you where clearing shelves.

          • AndreaCOMO

Maddison – Oh I didn’t take offense =0). I was just throwing all those info there in case someone else was reading and thinking I was hoarding all the goods illegitimately (cuz I think I may have been a lil unclear in my first comment on how I did my deal). I try my best to do my deals ethically and legally. And I don’t hoard, I do on behalf of my church and needful members. You can definitely do all the deals above if you have the coupons for them (it’s awesome to have 2 computers!) and follow the coupons limit and Cartwheel guideline. See below.

Misti – You can use Cartwheel (unless stated otherwise) on 6 different products, 4 of each product per transaction = 24 total items per transaction (so you can buy 4 item A, 4 item B, 4 item C, 4 item D, 4 item E, 4 item F = 24 items). So in my case, I had 4 coupons for 4 mouthwashes, 3 coupons for 3 packs of toothbrushes, and 1 coupon for 1 twin toothpaste = 8 items. But if you had 2 computers, you can print 4 coupons per toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash so you can get 12 total items using 12 $2 coupons and even do it all in one transaction and cartwheel would take ALL of them. The register automatically give you $5gift card every 4 Colgate item. That’s why I could do mine all together in one transaction.

I never found anything in my target, an associate said that I should come Sunday very early to get any of the deals, she said also even the other target is out of stock on these items!! I think target should make a limit per costumer. I never did a deal twice, I always consider the other customers.

  9. maya

I just came back from my local target and purchased what’s in the scenario#3 to get the deal. I followed everything and printed all the coupons needed. My total cost with the cartwell and the coupons are $14.17, then they gave a $5 gift card. So my final cost is $9.17. It did not much in the hip2save savings coz it said I’m supposed to be only paying $5.96 minus a $5 gift card and supposed to have .96 cents for final cost. I’m a little bit confused, it’s my first time doing this. We’ll I’m still happy for the total savings that I got, but I’m really wondering what I did wrong.

    • misti

Are you sure you bought the correct ones? Not all mouthwashes where 4.99

  10. Rachel

I had a problem at my target with the Colgate total not working even though it was marked and the 30% cartwheel didn’t work for that same item either.

  11. Amanda

I was at Target Sunday afternoon. I bought 4 of the blue Colgate mouthwash at 4.99 each but it did not prompt a giftcard. Manager had an associate check and I was told the giftcard offer was only for the “Enamel” kind. Needless to say I didn’t get them.

  12. Amorris

Same here. neither the blue nor green mouthwash didn’t generate $5GC (southern Cali). But I’m happy with the twin pack toothpaste and oral b toothbrushes 🙂 thanks Collin!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Sorry to hear you did not grab the GC! Were they marked with the GC offer on the shelf?

    • Ashley W

I think you most likely grabbed the 12hr protection kind. The daily repair mouthwash only comes in blue, but it looks like the 12hr kind. I almost made the same mistake, but luckily caught my error.

  13. Christie

For those who are unaware….Target has decided to let men in the ladies bathroom. I know the Hip2save community gives them A LOT of business. I know I am not OK with this and they will lose my business! Are you ok with your daughters being watched or even worse possibly fondled!!! Sick!!! Very disappointed in Target!

  14. Tisha

Mgr at my store said that you can only use 1 coupon if an item generates a gift card no matter how many items you are buying. Needless to say the Colgate deal was a no go for me 😕

  15. Gini Huttenga

Does any still see the $2 colgate toothpaste??

  16. TeresaAnn

So sad 🙁 my store does not have the gift card for Colgate…just Crest
