DIY Wrist Corsage

Sent from reader, Erin:

Hi Collin! With it being prom season, I wanted to share the wrist corsages I made for my daughters for a daddy daughter dance. I had planned on ordering their corsages, but changed my mind when every florist in town quoted me $25 a piece!

DIY Wrist Corsage

I discovered that Hobby Lobby has a large selection of corsage and boutonniere making materials. All of the materials I used happened to be on sale for 50% off, but you could use a 40% off coupon when they’re not. I was able to get everything I needed to make two wrist corsages (including the plastic boxes) for a little over $14! Way better than the $50 I would have paid at a florist. Even better, my daughters had no idea they didn’t come from the florist until I told them. 😉

Nice! I was a free agent for most of high school and went to more than twenty formals. Didn’t take long before I figured out how to make a boutonnieres. DIY for the $ave!

  13. Mary

  14. corinn

    Very pretty Erin! Good job!

  15. SCS

That’s so awesome! I bet your daughter thought that was so thoughtful of you to make them! Some of the best, most thoughtful gifts are homemade! The cost savings is a bonus! Way to go!

  16. Stephanie

Great job! I actually did my whole wedding from the flowers at hobby lobby and they looked great! I paid them to make the men’s flowers and didn’t cost but a few dollars each. The ones that me and the bridesmaids carried I found already made on clearance for 50% off and they were the exact colors I was going for!! Yay for hobby lobby!

  17. Amelia

  18. Rose

Too bad hobby lobby is anti-birth control for their employees. Businesses are not people, they shouldn’t be able to pick a religion

    • Wehaf

I agree 100% – I refuse to shop at Hobby Lobby for exactly this reason.

      • Lori

Hobby lobby is not anti birth control. They cover 16 of the 20 approved birth control options. There are only 4 they don’t cover, such as the morning after pill because they believe life begins at conception.

        • Michelle

The irony of that is that it takes up to 4 days for conception to start; the morning after pill prevents this from happening. It does not cause an abortion because conception doesn’t even happen, if it’s successful. The morning after pill is a totally different drug from the abortion pill.

    • Faith

I love hobby lobby for the stand they take. Pro life!! Aren’t you thankful your parents didn’t take that morning after pill!?…we each have a opinion and that includes business owners. That is each person’s right. Why does it only upset you when you don’t agree?

      • 5pink1blue

        Well spoken!

Wrist corsages for our prom a few weeks ago were $35-45 each! I couldn’t believe how much they’ve gone up!

  22. Micaela

My mom made both my corsages for prom and more recently, all the bouquets for my wedding!

  23. Laura

    They are beautiful! Awesome job!!

  24. Casey Meyers

For Thanksgiving and Christmas my dad would buy cheap flowers from the grocery store. The ones on sale that would only last a couple of days. We would get nice fresh flowers and when they started to die a day or so later no big deal they served there purpose and cost very little.

  25. Gretch

    Great job!!!

  26. Erin

Nice job! They look professional–maybe better! The ones I’ve seen tend to be too “busy” for my tastes.

  27. cindy

These are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your tip!

  28. ihearthip

My family likes these for Mothers day. This is a good idea.

  29. Shari M
