I looked on Raise and didn’t see them as a vendor, did I miss it?

I signed up via your link but I didn’t get the $5 credit on my account. I confirmed via email—didn’t get a text.

Looks like a lot of people have links. A word of advice if you buy cards immediately transfer the credit to a new card. I bought one recently and the first time I used it it was fine, but then the next time the balance was $0 and not from me. Raise was great and refunded the amount that was used by someone else.

I second this. My card was fine and then suddenly 0. Unfortunately I did not notice until after the guarantee period so raise only offered me $5 off $50 coupon. It was a Panera Card and they could tell purchases were made in another state, far away but Raise is not an authorized vendor for their cards so they said I had to resolve with Raise. It was a lesson learned that pretty much negated any savings I would have had. Not the end of the world but hopefully I can prevent others from sharing this experience.

I had a similar experience and raise tried saying they had nothing to do with it, even though it was was within 30 days of purchase. Thank god for visa credit cards I filed a dispute and got my money back. Raise support (3 people I dealt with) didn’t care at all about what happened! Would never buy from them again.

That’s interesting b/c they wouldn’t let me sell a card w/o using a valid credit card ( I was trying with my debit card) stating that if the card balance is not true I would be charged the amount.

    • Gerta

Had similar experiences like Susan & Jill. Raise is an awful choice for an actual gift. No one wants to give a “gift” with a zero balance. Never again 😞

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So sorry to hear that Susan! Thanks so much for sharing your experience and your tip!

I have used Raise about 10 times successfully, but how would I transfer the credit to another card? Thanks

Also be very careful buying Starbucks from Raise. My checking account was used fraudulently to buy Starbucks gift cards. From my online research a very common scam and if you buy a Starbucks gift card and add to your “good” Starbucks card ,Starbucks user agreement allows them to cancel your card including your original balance. Raise will refund your money but you could end up losing your original Starbucks balance.
I purchased a Barnes and Nobles and used the entire amount that same day with no problems.

Darn! Thanks for the honest feedback!

I’ve used Raise many times. Once I purchased target gift card with $0 on it. I contacted them through chat (bottom right corner of the page) and raise refunded my money within an hour! So service looks nice and honest to me.

But you always have to keep in mind that someone who sold this gc to you through Raise still has it (if it was electronic one) and possibly can spend it after you paid for it. Raise will refund everything within 150 days, but always try to spend it as soon as I can. And never give these gift cards as a gift to somebody to avoid surprises.

Anyway Raise is definetely worth using. It saved me a loooot of money!

I bought 4-$25 chick fila gift cards all worked but the 4th card had a $0 balance. I called raise refunded me my money for the missing $25. Just be careful, but I’ve bought since and no issues yet on my online electronic cards.

I did use raise found it frustrating when the gift card you purchased initially has the correct amt then 2 weeks later 0. Glad i did not give it as a gift to someone.

  11. Emma

Please be careful with Raise. I bought a Petco gift card and after about 2 weeks, an amount of $25 was missing from the gift card. I contacted Raise and they refunded $16.11 to me (within the 100 days guarantee). Guess what! After the 100 day passed, they contacted me and want the $16.11 back because according to them, I used the whole amount. Fair warning. Be careful.

My gift card that I purchased never came with a pin that I needed to use it. raise never responded to tell me why they never sent the pin so I pretty much bought a completely useless card and their customer service was terrible after I finally got ahold of someone but it was after their guaranteed period… To get your money back go figure! I will never buy from this place again way way too shady.

I have been using Raise for about 2 years and had 3 problems with the GC but Raise fixed it very quickly. The most recent one is the restaurant gift cards. I bought 2 physical gift cards instead of the electronic cards just to be safe and turns out both physical cards were never activated. $0 on both. Luckily, I had the receipts from the restaurant that show cards not valid and Raise refunded my money.

  14. Mayra

I thankfully haven’t had any problems with the electronic gift cards but the one physical gc I purchased was a Shell gas card that for some reason never arrived. Waited the full 14 business days to contact them and thankfully the refunded the money within a day.
