Used my $5 Amazon gift card from the Cricket wireless deal and got it for $7.99! Really want to try this with peppermint oil for when I have a migraine, has anyone else done this?

    • Katie b

Peppermint is great for headaches of all kind. I put it on my temples, roof of my mouth, or belly. Depends on the type of headache. Most of my migraines are hormone induced, so I use an essential oil blend for hormone balance daily. Haven’t had a migraine since I started using the oil.

      • StephB

Oh Katie I have terrible hormonal migraines around my period. I would love to know what you use exactly. I’ve never used essential oils. TIA

I just purchased one of these diffusers but have no essential oils. I would love some suggestions on what oils to buy that won’t break the bank. ☺️
I know nothing about essential oils. 🙈

I bought this set of essential oils & like the smell of all of them.https://m.puritan.com/kit-brand-1070/pparomatherapy-sampler4kit-059447. I drop about 10 drops into my diffuser (you may not need as much if you have your diffuser in a smaller room). You can google what each oil does for you. I like when someone comes in my house & tells me house nice my house smells!

Be prepared. People become intensely loyal to their preferred brands and will tell you why “their” brand is the best (therapeutic grade, organic, controlled from field to bottle, etc).

    • Shanny

Don’t buy cheap essential oils. They are cheap for a reason and they are mainly for fragrance. They don’t have any health benefits. I like doterra and young living brands.

I personally love Plant Therapy. Great quality and definitely budget friendly plus no MLM!!

    • thediyparent

I’m a wellness advocate with DoTerra and I love our oils for many reasons including their purity, their sourcing, their commitment to helping people from all over the globe who grow these wonderful plants that we use, etc. Yes, quality should be your first concern, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing oils from an MLM! In doing so you support an individual and their family who run a respectable business. There’s always going to be a someone profiting from your purchases whether you are buying from Walmart or the corner mom & pop small business or the MLM-business owner. 🙂 Also note, quality is important whether you are using it topically, internally OR diffusing it into the air (you don’t want to breathe in impure oils!!). If I can be of any help to you, let me know. Best regards, Jenny thediyparent[at]gmail[dot]com

    • Fern

I also use ONLY doTerra oils and totally agree with all that Jenny said. What she failed to mention is that some oil sold by Walmart and other discount stores actually contain NO natural essential oil, and are all synthetic, even tho that is not what it says on the label. So if you are trying to reduce toxins in your home or support your body for wellness, you will want to be sure that the oils you diffuse or use any other way are pure, and have been tested to prove that! Good luck, Fern. 1YummyLife

The main thing to focus on when purchasing essential oils is that they are 100% pure. There are a few oils that can be purchased pre blended with a carrier oil, but I don’t diffuse those oils. For topical application of most oils you need to purchase a carrier oil, like avocado oil, jojoba, sweet almond or grape seed (there are many others). I love my essential oils and have used many brands, including several affordable brands. I find that while there are some “cheap” brands that aren’t the best, most work just fine when diffused. Heading over to snag another diffuser!
