Ok im a new mom again so i have a bit of experience with my older son.I bought this same sweet potato and beets last month on S&S for the same price. Its mostly sweet potato and not much beets. Its good for travelling but its so easy to bake a couple of sweet potatoes in the oven and grinding it in ur blender that i wouldn’t buy it even at this price for everyday use. Just my 2c.
I have 4 kids oldest is 7. youngest is 8 months. These pouches are great at our house. The time it takes to get the blender out, use it, clean it, dry it, put it away, it’s not worth it. also heating up the entire house to bake a sweet potato is nuts during the summer, your paying to cool the house down with AC. I am super busy not worth it, I’d rather work in vegetable garden, clean out animal barn, play in the pool with the kids, read with the kids, then spend time glued to the kitchen washing my blender. Just my 2 cents. Everyone have a great day.
Angie, of course these are easier but when i say to bake the potato i meant make at least 4-5 and then use ur ice cube tray for portioning them then freeze…everyday just before bed take out a few cubes and keep in the fridge…i agree heating up the oven just for that day’s meal is not worth it…I make around 4-5 veg/fruits like this on the weekend so during the week i have other things to do.
That’s how I fed my first one. He was a 10lb baby with an enormous appetite! Plus I worry about the plastic in the pouches. Not good.
I’m not a fan of heating food in plastic so I squeeze the pouches out into a glass baby food jar and put it in a ramekin filled with hot water to heat it. Stir with baby spoon until warm.
