The emerald is the best for durability, ease to paint with and primer in one. It’s $46 with the 40% off at my local Sherwin Williams. Since we bought our house in October, that’s all I’ve used. I stock up on a few colors I have picked out. I have 2900 square feet of house to paint. Lol. So I buy a couple rooms at a time so it doesn’t get old and settle.

I had my house exterior painted last year, used super paint for the siding and the mid grade for the trim, it looks amazing and has held up really well, cleans easily. I bought it during this sale and it saved me hundreds!! Totally recommend.

I am a professional painter and we only use SW paints, unless client requests ben moore. If u r not sure what color u want the paint but want to take advantage of the sale, you can buy the paint as plain white now and bring it back later to have tinted. Same for primer, it can be tinted too! Best if u know you will need 2 coats. Paint the tinted primer first then tinted paint, especially on new drywall. It is cheaper this way too.

Love this paint. My husband and I recently had new siding put up on our house and garage and used Sherwin Williams paint for all of the siding and trim work. We were SO HAPPY with the paint!!! It is a bit pricy, but for a good reason. I can’t express the great quality of this paint, except to say that you won’t be disappointed if you buy this. Good luck painting everyone!!!

      Thanks Lauren!

One tip I learned is to buy your paint in white when it is on sale and then have it tinted the color you want when your ready to paint. Seems like picking out the perfect paint color is the hardest part and takes the most time. This way you won’t miss out on a great sale even if your not ready to paint right away. They have this sale a couple times a year too.

Well just read the bottom of the post and realized someone already mentioned this tip… Oops. I should have read all the way down lol

      • Sandy

Does it cost extra to have your white tinted?

        • Randy

No it is included in the price just get it mixed just before painting day and shook

Just don’t forget to use it! Paint actually does have a shelf life.

My dad has been a paint Forman for the school board for many years. Sherwin Williams when tested with all the other brands was the worst on the list in every category. I recently bought some with a coupon and it was a giant waste of money. With paint you do get what you pay for a lot of times, so if you want it to last and look professional steer clear of their paint.

Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore are the two best paints on the market. Premium paints will last longer and the finish shows versus bargain brands.

Ditto. Like a lot of college students, my husband painted while in college on breaks. The only paints he’ll let us buy is Sherwin Williams & Benjamin Moore.

It’s by far the best I’ve used and I’ve tried que a few. Benjamin Moore is next on the list.

My husband works for Sherwin Williams and while you’d expect me to say the quality is top notch (it is), it’s also proven by the fact that the majority of paint they sell in stores is actually for contractors who refuse to use anything else. There’s a reason they have over 4,100 nationwide stores. You wouldn’t believe the quality control they have and the highest safety standards anywhere. You can ensure you won’t even be sold a paint gallon with a crooked label.

Darn! Sorry to hear that 🙁 Thanks for the honest review!

Personally you don’t know what you talking about try doing some research most schools don’t use very high grade paint they likes you so cheap stuff

    • Jewell Lowe

I’ve always had the best results with Sherwin Williams! It’s all my professional painter will use.

I love what the poster above said, buy your paint now in white, and decide on a color later. Or head to Lowes and get a bunch of samples for .99 cents (few days left) then get your paint tinted after you’ve tried out a couple samples on your wall. I love SW paint, redoing a couple rooms in my house with the same color Collin has in her basement – perfect timing! Thanks H2S!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s awesome Barb! You’re so welcome!

Can you use the $10 off coupon in conjunction with the 40% off? Thanks:)

    • Diana

Yes! I was able to yesterday! They let me stack the promotions.

      • Lauren

        Wow! Thanks:)
