JCPenney

Sent from reader, Dulce:

I wanted to share the two awesome deals I got today at the mall. My first stop was JCPenney. I went in for the mystery coupon they were giving out at the door. I scored two shirts and a pair of shorts for free!!! I got two coupons because I took my kids – they didn’t give me one for each of them(I had 3). But because I asked, they just gave me one more.

I was so glad I went in to the store to grab my mystery coupon because when I opened it there were two coupons inside – one to use today and another one to use starting the 25th! So with the school uniform shirts being on sale for $5 today, I grabbed two for free with my first coupon. With the second one, I grabbed a pair of shorts that were on sale for $10. I still have two more $10 off coupons to go back and use next week!!

My next stop was Sears! I scored a backpack for less than 2 dollars. I have been accumulating points playing the instant sweeps where I have won a few times over a week – I have played just about all of them everyday. So I had a little over 8 dollars in points to use and when I went into the store my daughter found this 4 piece backpack she loved for $12.80 – great price! Successful day for back to school shopping!!

Hello H2Savers. My LO will be starting PreK next month, the school requires uniform, polo shirts, does anyone know where I can buy these at good prices and good quality? Thanks for any input. 🌺

you might want to try children place

    • Sarah

I agree. The Childrens Place is great for uniforms. Walmart also has some good deals online.

I know JCPenny has most of their Polos for $5. Check Old Navy they tend to have sales on uniform basics.
Tip: buy uniform pieces around spring break for next year. I found navy uniform pants for $2.50 each. Oh and buy one size up if you can.

Old navy is having a uniform sale right now. That is where I bought my son’s uniform from kindergarten in sept.

I love Walmart’s “George” brand for school uniforms. They hold up really well. I’ve tried Old Navy and other brands and none of them have worked as well as the George brand. Also, my kids’ school has a uniform resale a couple of times each school year. Lots of great deals there!

Omg! Preschoolers have to wear uniforms?! Is this in all preschools ?

If you have a tiny one like I do they have pull on khaki pants at Target in the toddlers section. I think they were capri cut. My youngest will turn 7 next week and could still wear 4T and 5T last school year! 🙂 Old navy, target, and academy were great places to get uniforms. If they’re going to be in uniforms for a bit, academy usually has pretty deep clearances mid september or so.

Thank you all for the suggestions, much appreciated. 🌺

My kid’s school also had a used uniform closet, and sold each piece for only $3. The uniform pieces were either donated from kids’ outgrown clothes or in the lost and found too long. It was a good way for me to uniform a growing kid in clothes she was destined to get covered in paint, mud, glitter glue, fabric paint, etc. It also gave me a preview of how well various pieces held up. Lands End items still looked great. Also I learned the kids were wearing clothes from all sorts of vendors without an issue. Depends on the school, but I learned there was no rule about the plain old pants/skirts/shorts being from a particular store, so long as they otherwise were the right general style and color.

    Awesome score!

Nice! I also was able to score some super cheap things at JCP with their coupon! There are lots of good deals there to pair with the coupon!

You’ll probably get your points that you spent at Sears back too! I got an email saying if I use my points by tomorrow, Saturday, that I’ll get 100% back in points! Hopefully it’s something everyone gets and isn’t an invitation only type thing:)

I got the same offer last week. Spent my $11 and got it back immediately.

I was kinda bummed that our jcp isn’t handing out coupons till tomorrow because we had planned to go to the mall today. We live about 30 min away so I try to go all the places I need on the same day… We still got some great deals… Sandals for $.41 at lane Bryant, and good will had 50% off got a pair of brand new jeans for $3… My 14 year old was so proud of herself because she got several items at different stores and only spent $4… We love to “free” shop… Came home and saw the post for nordstroms so I was able to get a lip gloss and 5 samples for $.70 shipped… Because I needed to shop more after 8 hours of shopping with 4 kids… Lol

Sweet! I went in today and got two $10/$10, over good for the weekend& another for after. With their sale you can get all sorts of things for free with the coupon. I got two Arizona tees for hubby. They also had camis, tanks, Stafford tees, and pillows for $5. Towels were $3, hand towels were $2, washcloths $1.50. Definitely worth checking out.

  10. Marie

I won the $100 with $10 for next week! Yay!

    • melissa

      Me too, such a blessing!!

    • Nickole

My son pulled the $100! We got tons of slightly too big stuff that will carry through the school year, and hopefully some of next…. he’s a 4t/5t, so we bought boys 4/5s. I am so pumped!!!

    • Sarah

Me too! So excited. I have to go back tomorrow so dad can watch the kids. I want to stretch it as far as I can and no way I can shop with the little ones! Congrats everyone!

Love WalMarts George polos. I recommend buying darker colors if possible. It will save you lots of time trying to get stains out 😉
