Smellyann, OT but I recall that you were one of the people to score the Cedar playhouse back in October 2015. I did too. How did you like it, if you don’t mind me asking? My granddaughter’s is still waiting for her 2nd birthday in October. I read somewhere to not do the full name because strangers can call them by name then, something I never thought about!) and it’s cheaper then I was anticipating spending! When would your child be around strangers with their book bag? maybe if they walked to school. my child rides the bus. so I guess I don’t get the stranger danger.
Stranger Danger is very real, the child could just be walking from class to the car and a stranger looking for a victim could be watching. When they watch enough times they see what the pattern is and wait for an opportunity to call the child by name and try to get them to go with them.
I actually was with my little brother when I was 11 years old and we had gone to the park and were walking home when a van pulled up with two men in it. They told us they had candy and asked if we wanted some but I told them no and told my brother to run with me. Stranger Danger is very real and it can happen anywhere the opportunity exists. Full names on coats, backpacks and hats is the worse thing any parent can do for their child. Think safety.

Paid $18 in January for my daughter’s LE backpack for this year, so I’ll watch to see if prices drop. Plus I got the matching lunch bag for $7. She carried a medium size for K-3 and just moved up to a large for 4th.
