*Hip tip regarding Walgreens scenarios: Be sure and have the cashier scan the manufacture coupon BEFORE the store coupon. The store coupon will adjust down the penny IF scanned second.
Will the Walgreens deal work because the item is $8.99 and the coupons total $9?
Here is our “hip tip” regarding that 😉 “Be sure and have the cashier scan the manufacture coupon BEFORE the store coupon. The store coupon will adjust down the penny IF scanned second.”
Just bought both of these at CVS and the Fusion rang up $9.79, and the Zantac 150 rang up $9.99 (both regular price). Also- NO extra bucks printed.. 🙁
I wonder why?!??
Its a regional deal. If its not in your paper ad or online myweeklyad, then unfortunately it’s not valid in your area.
hmm I see.. thanks for the info, Mel!
Walgreens wouldnt take the coupon because of the CVS logo. I tried 2 stores.
There is a coupon on the Zantac website without the logo
My Walgreens wouldn’t take the coupon. Said it wouldn’t round down and I gave them the manufacturer coupon first.
I was very frustrated at Walgreens tonight. CVS — in and out, no problems, worked like a charm. Walgreens?? HUGE ordeal. I asked the question on another post, but maybe someone will read this and help me here:
Help!? Am I misunderstanding the Walgreens policy? If I use a coupon like the Kellogg’s $3 off 5, can I use 4 RR from other transactions with a total of 5 cereals and 5 coupons? I’ve been able to before, but tonight I had a cashier (and had something similar happen at a different store several weeks ago) that said the $3 off 5 coupon takes care of all the cereals and I can’t use any more coupons. I know I can’t use more Kellogg’s, but why can’t I use RR to pay for the items? I tried reading the coupon policy and I’m no further ahead in understanding.
A RR is considered a manuf coupon. If a coupon is $3/5 that coupon will “attach” to all 5 items. In order for the RR to apply, you need to throw in a filler item. Try to find something cheap that you don’t have a manuf q for, so your RR will apply.
If I clip the coupon to my card, will it come off after the $5 coupon or will it come off before and thus the $5 coupon won’t scan?
I still have the $5/1 cvs coupons which I printed few weeks ago. I paired them with this manufacturer’s coupon and got 2 free plus overage towards another merchandise. Thanks.
Sweet deal Ella! You’re welcome!
Huge ordeal at my Walgreens as well. Gave manufacturer coupon first then Walgreens one. Manager said it won’t work, coupon won’t adjust down.
Oh bummer! 🙁
My Walgreens manager was one of those “not gonna let you get a good deal” types. Coupons scanned fine, but he did some quick math and saw that it had deducted $9 on an $8.99 item. Went into full Paul Blart mode….I’m sorry ma’am we can’t let you do that. Even whipped out the “coupon fraud” line. Whatever dude….keep your Zantac. Moving on to the next deal.
Sorry to hear about that Mindy! Thanks for sharing your experience!
I went to Walgreens today bought Zantac 150,8.99 and candy bar .59,used both coupons and paid .63,and I will be sending in the rebate,I live in NY
It’s useless and a waste of precious time to shop at Walgreens. I just go there to pick up my FREE 8X10 photo!
Remember. If your using both coupons you need 2 items… Throw in a filler item. ( a cheap eraser etc). Then both coupons should work.. Walgreens usuasly works when you gave same amount of items as coupons not less.
Funny, mine took the CVS logo one fine (they scanned it first) then scanned the Wag book coupon, then the smartsource one from the website wouldn’t go through. I had tons of other things though, so I think the filler item(s) are necessary, plus as Collin stated, scanning the manufacturer coupon first.
If the coupon has a CVS logo on it, will Walgreens or Target take the coupon? I’m kind of new to this, so the input would be so helpful! Thanks!
Target will, but YMMV (your miles may vary) on Walgreens. One Wags store in my area will take a manuf cpn even if it has another stores name/logo, but another will not.
The local Walgreens here refused the coupon because it was a CVS coupon. 🙁
