I was trying to buy something at gilt.com and my total was 0 at checkout but they’re still asking me to add payment method. Has anybody experienced the same thing?

Awesome! Also, check your local public library. My library has a bookstore which sells used books. I bought the highly rated “brown bear” board book for $0.50!. You will also be supporting your local library.

Oh cool! Thanks for the tip!

As used books, what kind of shape are they in?

    • Sara

It can be hit or miss with the “used good” being that some are in really good condition while some are more questionable but still readable. Look for “used like new” and I would steer clear of anything below “used good.” They have a satisfaction guarantee, although I have not had to use it. Hope that helps!

      • MamaBearSar

        Than you Sara!

i ordered from them a few years ago and was disappointed. The books were in very bad shape. Ripped, written on and just not what I was expecting.

      • MamaBearSar

Hmm, good to keep in mind. Thank you!

I’ve been buying from them for 3 years (over 100 books) and have been very satisfied. Like what someone else posted, don’t buy anything below “good” quality and look for “like new” if possible. The one time I wasn’t satisfied with a book quality, they replaced it and let me keep the first book. Shipping is slow. But, it’s free.

      • MamaBearSar

Thanks, I’ll definitely keep your tips in mind ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve used this website multiple times. A couple of books came in “well loved” condition. I wrote and they immediately sent replacements and asked me donate the older copies.
Excellent cause. Great service. My lil reader loves the idea of the donated books.
“Mommy imagine another kid somewhere loving the same book I do!!?!”

I’ve even gifted from this website to close friends and nieces. Once I explain why it’s used books, they’re quite proud to be part of the process in recycling books and sharing them with kids who may not have the same opportunities as the kids in our family.

I just ordered 2 days ago, I kept waiting for a sale but just couldn’t wait any longer. Wish I would have had the patience to wait!

I just bought 5 teacher resource books for less than $14. I searched in the bargain bin for my favorite publisher, “Evan Moor”. They had a lot of science resource books.

  7. Tiffany

How do you get the discount? It isn’t showing up for me at checkout.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hmm, did you grab them from the bargain bin?

  8. Christine

Just FYI if anyone is looking to sent books oversea it does work. I wanted to test out ordering books for my sister who lives in Ghana. Since most of my personal shipping doesn’t even get there I thought I try out Better World Books. Well she got the books….but it did took 6 months ๐Ÿ˜›

  9. Lori

I LOVE Better World Books!! I discovered them through H2S and have placed many, many orders over the past couple years. I’ve always been really happy with everything that I’ve purchased.

I love them the most for the free international shipping. My sister lives in japan with 2 little ones, and I love I can send them something in the mail without it costing me an arm and a leg. They love getting the books, and share them in an English story time the host for Japanese friends:)

I purchased 100 2nd grade books for my class for $59 (free shipping) from fifthstreetbooks.com and was quite pleased. The books are in great condition and some even look new! Not sure if they ship international though ๐Ÿ™
