This is one of the greatest inventions ever! I absolutely love that I can “vacuum” everyday without having to do any work. I still run my regular vacuum about once a week, but I will never go without my Roomba. We love it so much in my family we gave her a name… Reba the Roomba. Now instead of me saying I need to vacuum, I say I need to let Reba play
I’m vacuuming right now, too!!! My Roomba is named “Robert”!! Haha. We say “Can you let Robert out?” It is the best. I usually put Robert out before I go to the grocery store or run errands. It is so nice to come home to a clean house.
Love, love, love, oh, did I say I love my Roomba!!! We are on our second Roomba now, not because it was defective or anything, it was simply over-use.

Is it loud?
It’s a bit loud on hardwood and tile, but pretty quiet on carpet. We have 2, one for upstairs and one for downstairs and we love them! It’s a life saver with pets. I turn them on usually when I leave the house so the noise is not an issue for me.
Gail, “loud” to me might not be the same “loud” to you! 🙂 While you can set it to take off on a schedule, I choose to lock it up in a room and let it work. In the common areas, I simply put up the virtual walls and run it when I am out of the house running errands. I couldn’t have it running in a room I am reading in or need concentration if that gives you an indication. We also live in a house where my son sleeps in a lower bedroom and our family room is atop his bedroom, so I certainly would not run it when he is sleeping/studying. Hope this helps. We love our Roomba. Works great particularly if you have fur babies!
Does this model pick up short pet hair well? I have a dog with short hair that sheds bad.
Lisa, yes! I have 2 cats and it works great. O have this model and 1model above this one and I would say they both work just as well. The only difference is you can’t pre set times to run on this model.
Agreed as well. We have a Rat Terrier mix who we were told was a medium shedder. I think she must shed a coat of fur every week! The Roomba really does pick up a lot. We love it because not only does it pick up pet hair but also that little sandy grime bits that track in. I have long hair, so the only thing you have to watch for is you do need to clean the brush mechanisms because my long hair does get wrapped up in it.

Anyone know if this is comparable to the pet specific roombas like the 552 pet series?
Does anyone know of a robotic vacuum that is shorter than most of these? I think this is 3,6 inches tall and I need a smaller in height one due to my low cabinets. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you!
I have one and I love it. I run it twice a day and rarely get the big vacuum out. Two Great Pyrenees, 4 children, and two adults in the house
