Hi Collin! This Christmas, I decided to use recycled candle jars to make frugal DIY gifts for our neighbors and friends. Thanks to Hip2save, I scored a deal on Bath and Body Works candles. They come in beautiful glass jars with Christmas tree lids. After I was done burning the candles, I cleaned them out and took a hot glue gun and glued satin red ribbon around the candles. I filled the jars with mini candy canes. A box of mini candy canes is $1 at Dollar Tree. I then wrapped the candy jars in the FREE cellophane and ribbon I got at the store when I bought the candles! Each gift cost only 50 cents (from the candy!).
Is there a tip on how to clean out the candle jars?

I recently searched online how to get the rest of the wax out without breaking the jar. You put the jar in the freezer without the lid for about 30 minutes this causes the wax to become brittle and shrink a bit away from the glass. Then carefully using a sturdy dull knife (butter knife works great) you can pop out the wax (some of mine came out in 1 solid piece; while others broke up in several pieces). I soaked the jars in hot soapy water and then cleaned them and removed the labels. I used the left over candle wax in my glade wax melt warmers. I made some of those cute candy jars that H2S posted about last week (I had a red candle jar and used a silver ribbon and added Hershey’s kisses with the Christmas tree lid).
This actually works, I’ve been using this trick for years 🙂

Some stores may allow stacking but it is not policy. You can only stack coupons that come together in a mailer. Just an FYI incase you get denied by a store following policy!
I was at the store last Friday and they were giving out $20 off $50 coupons after purchase. Maybe purchase something small and then use this coupon to buy the candles. That would make four candles $7.50 each.

You cannot. It has to be a item $14 or under (regular priced) and the 3 wick candles are $22.50 regular priced. Some stores do it but they are not supposed to.
