I have been interested in buying one. Does anyone know if it’s worth it? What if it is my fault. I have one in each car, one of them dual. It worth every penny. Almost every brand of DashCam have the motion sensor capability which if someone hit your car while park start the cam, recording those who hit you and leave.
Recently I had an accident where the vehicle in front of me made an illegal sharp 90 degree left turn and left my lane, then suddenly backed up and hit my front left bumper while I was in motion. The insurance company said its a comparable negligence, meaning I was 50% at fault. Mostly that’s because the other driver was dishonest in his recorded statement. I had no evidence to prove I did not rear end him. But then I was able to obtain the footage from my dash can and – BINGO! I am not at fault. Saved me at least $500 deductible AND possible insurance rate increase. I am so glad I had a dash cam.
