Just want to remind everyone to check the expiration date if you purchase. The manufacture date should be on outside of box, they are good for 6 years from that date.

I purchased one of the previously mentioned/posted evenflo booster’s from Walmart earlier this month, and when it arrived I was disappointed to find it expires in a few months(it was made in 2011). Not all of them are like that, just be sure to check the dates!

Really? An expiration date for a booster seat? what would be so perishable about it? It is based on weight, if your child is heavier than listed then throw it out. I have always passed it to my family and friends, no ill effect past six years.

Yes boosters expire too….plastic weakens over time and in a crash, the forces exerted on an expired booster could break the seat causing the seatbelt to move and not protect the child as intended. Also, expired boosters possibly dont pass current safety testing. Anybody can find more information at csftl.org.

Also, not all carseats and boosters have the same life. This evenflo booster is good for 6 years but some are good for as long as ten years.

I heard carseats were good 6 years after you started using them. Boosters are just a modern phonebook. All they do is lift the child so the seatbelt (attached to the car) fits the child in the proper locations on their body. They have inflatable boosters called bubble bum. We have one for my oldest because our huge suburban does not have enough room in the third row for 3 of the 16″ wide boosters to sit side by side. Just make sure the seatbelt fits across their body properly.

I am still finding the Goody Two Tones available for store pickup and the Peony option available to ship. Hopefully you can snag one from your local store. Hope this helps!

I got the Peony booster seat the last time another Evenflo booster seat was recently advertised on here for being on sale and it’s a nice booster seat.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Super glad to hear that Shannon! Thanks so much for the feedback!

Hooray! So sick of moving the big car seat on the rare occasion we need to move cars.

Thanks! I wanted to get a booster for my daughter when she turns 4 and this is a great price for a high back booster and she’ll love the pattern!

      You’re so welcome!

Did anyone else get a promotional 10% off their 2 day shipping products? It’s good for those items up to three times and seems to be for select customers. I paired it with the baby trend jogger for only $50. Check your emails/account just in case!!

What age group is this for?

I’m so confused on when to move my son up. He is currently 4.5 years old and about 38 pounds. Some things I read say he can go to a booster, others say no. Any one have some good advice on this?

    • april

I’m confused, too. My son is 4 years old and just over 40 pounds. According to the specs on the Walmart site, he should be able to ride in this… but then at the bottom it says for ages 5-7.

    • ashley

I highly recommend joining a carseat group. Carseats for the littles is on fb. Or csftl.org. legally most states allow booster riders at 4 but laws are behind and it really isnt safe til atleast 5 when they have more developed bones and they are mature enough to sit up for the entire ride even when they fall asleep.

    • Sam

I switched my son once I could no longer extend the straps to fit him with the 5 point harness. This January I let him switch at 6 years old and 58 pounds.
For me, it really wasn’t a hassle to leave him in the old seat because he knew how to buckle himself up, takes the same amount of effort now that we have switched.

    • Ginger

8 years ago forwardfacing was ok for 12 month old, then 2 years later they switched it to 2 years, now they recommend rear facing until 4!!! That is why some carseat companies have extenders on the carseat. They say really all riders should ride facing backwards. It is safer in a crash. So as far as I’m concerned, make sure what ever seat you install is in as tight as possibe in your car. If you are not ruining the padding in the original seat of the car, then it is not tight enough. Most carseats are NOT installed properly. Local firestations should be able to check your carseats to see if they are properly installed.

      • parkerspantry

I have had the State Troopers show me how to install their current car seats so I feel safe on those. I kept both my kids rear facing until 2 (even though my mom kept telling me to turn them around because that’s how we rode growing up and we are okay…. one of my most hated justifications for anything….) I think I’ll keep him in his car seat until 5 or until he gets too tall. Thank you everyone for the responses. I really appreciate it.
