3 Ingredient Puffy Slime Recipe

Mine definitely do! I’m sharing our latest favorite puffy slime recipe that’s a little thicker than traditional slime and needs just three main ingredients. This is such a fun activity that’d be perfect to keep in mind for Summer break coming up!
DIY Puffy Slime
Create this fun puffy slime, this supply list makes enough for two kids.

In a bowl, stir together glue and liquid starch. Add any food coloring if desired.

Add shaving cream and stir well.

Keep stirring until solid slime forms. If it's too wet or sticky, just keep stirring and manipulate with hands.
Note: I recommend using Elmer’s glue and the Stay-Flo brand starch. I’ve tried another brand of starch in the past that didn’t work out. I’d also use the foam type of shaving cream instead of gel.
Here’s a batch I made using pink Glitter Glue!
Note: This recipe is very forgiving with exact amounts. I only had 1 cup of glitter glue and sort of eye-balled the other two amounts without measuring closely and it worked fine.
After you’re done playing with the slime, store it in a covered jar, Tupperware, or plastic bag and it will keep for a while! My kids love making this with their friends. I’ve got to say that I actually like joining in too! So FUN!

Glue sells out in many stores because of the slime craze.
OMG I hate slime! It has caused so many arguments with me and my 11 year old daughter! Slime seems to be everywhere! Over this fade!!
Hello I would like to inform you that if your child wants to do something recreational you shouldn’t argue about it,and if you hate slime you dont have to publicly announce it and stop looking at the recipes for it.
If you use the glitter glue, does the glitter get all over hands, etc?

For My forth grader slime is totally a thing right now
Michaels has the huge 1 gallon glue for $18. You can not use a coupon for it,but I can not find any glue in my city. This will last forever. Cheap cans of Barbasol Shaving cream and I use 1c warm water with 1tsp borax and dissolve. Come over any time.
I found a recipe on Amazon that uses just normal things you have around the house:
12 oz. Elmer’s White School glue
1 ½ tbsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. contact lens solution
Food coloring
Has anyone tried it using these ingredients, the one I’ve seen used Borax, I guess there are several ways to make it
My kid used this recipe and works great.
My daughter and I have made slime using those ingredients. Works very well! We stay away from borax have heard long periods of contact with borax can cause chemical burns so we only use this version.

What do you use to mix it? A spoon? Your Hands? When you say use 8oz of elmers glue you follow that up with 2 cups. Wouldn’t that be 16 oz of glue?
My apologies! Just fixed – I used two 8oz containers of glue, mix with a spoon then eventually your hands 👍
Followed the recipe exactly and this was a big, sticky mess. Yuck. Don’t waste your money. Next time we will try borax. Good luck everyone!
I don’t know what happened but we followed this recipe and it was a major sticky, messy fail!! 😔
You just need to add more starch.
We made this today & also a regular non-puffy slime. Was our first time making it. We followed all instructions but did need to add more starch. If slime is too sticky, just keep adding starch a little at a time & kneading. Once we figured that out, we were golden.

My daughter wants slime stuff for christmas!!
My daughter makes slime, it’s a big thing. She had made some last year and sold it at school to take me out for Mother’s day. It was such a big surprise. There are several ways to make slime (shaving cream, contact solution, borax) She watches you tube videos to find all the different recipes. It can be a pain, but she has a real interest and has shown initiative to making her own money. Having the large containers of glue is essential. If anyone has ideas on cheap plastic containers she can keep them in I’d love to know.
Check out winco or another bulk food place that lets you make your own peanut butter. They are a great size!
