I got some hanging plants today. Wish our store had the blue pots though. Those are cool.

    • Susi

I agree those blue pots are certainly more attractive than the black ones!

      • Christy

My store has some with blue and some with black pots.

I was thinking the same thing. The pots here are tan. Anyone have any hints on keeping hanging pots of petunias healthy and productive? I keep mine nice for about 1 month then they start to look a little sad. I give up on them in August.

You could try sprinkling on a fertilizer every couple months if you don’t already. They make a granule kind you just put on top of the soil. Then every time you water it adds nutrients to the soil. I have some I got from Lowes that’s just made by miracle grow. It’s in a shaker bottle.

truthfully the hanging pots they sell them in are too small for them. There’s not enough soil to stay moist in a full day of sun plus within a month they are root bound, So those poor roots are dry as a bone most of the time with no where to spread. As much as I love petunias they are labor intensive. They must be deadheaded constantly and actually pinched back quite a bit or they get leggy. I wouldn’t recommend hanging baskets in general in full sun. I would, if possible, stick to very big planters on the ground using moisture retaining soil for full sun. Hanging baskets are easier in part shade. HTH!

Thanks for the info. I have a very large wrap around porch. I love the look of hang ing baskets. My house has no shade. It is in the hot sun all the time. I was thinking of maybe putting in a drip system. They are not that costly. We shall see. Thanks again for the info.

every so often take the pots.. off wherever you keep them , and put them in something where they sit in the water and just soak. i do it all the time. you will notice the different weight after a while.. when its dry or not.

Does Lowe’s accept competitors coupons or price match ads?

  4. Luz

Thank you so much! I picked up one of the hanging baskets to sit on my patio (popped the hanger off) for Memorial Day. Appreciate being able to spruce up for 5 bucks! Thanks for posting 🙂

      You’re very welcome!

Best Deal is 1.5-Gallon Hanging Baskets or 2.35-Quart Planters – 2/$10 or $5 each on this memorial day sale.

  6. Brittany

The fan says $119, not on sale. Do I need a code or something? Just bought a house and needing new ceiling fans so this would be perfect!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Looks like that deal has gone up in price. Thanks for letting us know!

Love the blue pots! My store had a variety of colors for the pots…red, white and blue.
