does anyone knows if this is a good printer or not? I read the reviews but some say it was good and others say it wasn’t

We got this for my son last year for college. He loves it, and we even use it when he is home for the summer. Love that I can print something from my phone to this printer. At this price, I’m considering getting another one for the house.

Can’t agree with you more! I had an old Epson printer that was just an ink guzzler, but I saved so much since switching to this HP.

        Danielle,
Would you please share where you get your ink from. Thanks

I have bought HP last time there was a deal on it. I think I paid $60… it was wireless. Although I loved the printer, when it was time for me to order more color ink I was shocked. The ink was going to cost me as much as brand new printer. And apparently no one sales off brand cartridges for HP. I tried to refill ink myself and it was a flop. So instead of spending $60 on cartridge, I bought Brother wireless printer for that amount. We print a lot for homeschool so I couldn’t bring myself to spending $60 on ink cartridges. Oh and Brother cartridge was about $10. So if you don’t mind paying a lot for a cartridges, it is a great printer. Check to see the cost of a new cartridge before buying. 🙂

Oxana, could you please share which Brother printer you purchased? Thank you.

I have Brother MFC-J460DW. I really like it. It is wireless and prints great in color. And the best part I can buy off brand ink for super cheap. Please note that I really liked HP (I don’t have model number since I no longer have it) but the ink was very expensive for the wireless printer that I had. I ended up giving it to my father in law and learned my lesson to check on the cost of the ink before buying a printer. 🙂

I only pay around $33 for the ink cartridges for this printer and that is for black and colored ink together. I can imagine with home schooling, you would go through a lot more paper though.

I buy LD ink for my hp printer. I buy it from 123inkjets when ebates has a high % rebate. I’ve been using it for years.

Now they have the ink deal so you pay as per how much you print as low as 4.99 a month and they ship the ink straight to your house

Has anyone seen any good computer deals? We need to replace our 9 year old computer without breaking the bank. 🙂

THANK YOU!! We have been wanting a wifi printer and now we grabbed this one, I had some money left on a Best Buy gift card too which helped even more!

      You’re so welcome!

Is the ink expensive for this printer?

    • Tiffany

I did the HP Instant Ink option and you pay for the ink you use. It starts as low as $2.99 for 50 prints a month and if you don’t print that much, it rolls over to next month.

    • Danielle

We pay around $33 for the ink for this printer. That includes a black and a colored cartridge.

  5. Amber

    It’s showing $49.99 now

    • Cassandra (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Darn. I am seeing that price now too. Thanks for letting us know, Amber! 🙂
