Alright, I have got to get this off my chest.

First off, I want to say that I work so hard on my blog and am constantly devoting lots of time and energy researching all the best deals and coupons to post for all of you. I am so exited to have so many fantastic loyal readers. It’s such an awesome feeling to know I am helping others save money… so thank you!

I have been very upset lately. It could be that time of the month or possibly because I’m a bit sensitive, but nonetheless I needed to post this. In my personal opinion it is not alright to fill up empty spaces on your blog by copying and pasting someone else’s posts! Even if you credit the source– it is still NOT right under any circumstances (unless you have written permission from the author). Developing posts and content takes lots of time, energy and creativity. To just copy and paste someone else’s post is really hurtful and well, pretty disrespectful. I’m not posting this to sound mean. I do, however, want to make it clear that I personally do not approve of others taking posts and placing them on their blog.

If you have found a post on another persons blog that inspires you or seems helpful, then by all means post those ideas on your own blog. Although, you’ll need to do this in YOUR OWN WORDS and credit the source when you’re done.

I don’t blame you one bit. I am sure it takes a lot of time to keep up on this site the way you do. You are the only site I check several times a day because you update it many times a day. I really apprecitae your site.

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    I agree completely!
Thanks for all your hard work!:)

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m so sorry you’ve been plagarized. I love your blog and check in daily (or more, if I’m home)! I appreciate your hard work and consider you my main source for couponing info and chief instructor (I’m a newbie). Don;t let the turkeys get you down.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree, I check your site almost once an hour (at least). Even on vacation. I completely appreciate you and your hard work. I’m sure my husband and I would not be making it as well without your couponing guidance.

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree with the others. While I am at work, I check you site at least 5 times and another couple when I get home. I owe you a lot for getting me the great deals I get. Don’t let those sour grapes bring you down. If there is anything that we readers can do for you, you just give us a hollar and we will be all over it. I wish there was some award or prize I could nominate you for. You are totally awesome!

I totally agree… and good for you for taking a stand on this! That is just one more reason this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE blog – it is ORIGINAL – and therefore, different than soooo many others! I have honestly stopped reading a bunch of other blogs simply because they all seem to copycat each other… maybe just changing a couple of words here or there. And THAT is SOOOOO WRONG!! So again, kudos for you for speaking up! 🙂

I had a food business. This happened all the time. Several companies copied our ENTIRE website, word for word (including my name and my partner’s name!). Many people would come in and use their camera phones to copy our recipes or other intellectual property.

Our attorney suggested we copywright our signature and include on every page and post. That helped. Otherwise, the Internet is part of the Public Domain.

That copywright, however cost me $25,000!!!

Look at YouTube. Talk about infringement! What a nightmare.

Suffice it to say, you are the original and sometimes you have to be content with that. Although, I will say, it hurts.

    I’ve been there!!

I don’t think I’ve ever linked to you, but when I do with others, I put it in my own words, but then try to get my readers to mosey on over to read the original. Cause, I can’t say it any better. After all, this blog world is about making connections, not stealing! There is a fine line between inspiration and outright copying.

    Best to you!

I agree with you. Each blogger should find their own info and post on their blog. Yours is the best! Your blog is the first thing I go to when I sit down at the computer. Not only is my family of five benefitting from you…I also pass on these deal to my parents and sister. We love you!

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

check out myfreecopyright.com, I saw it on someone else’s blog but haven’t tried it yet…maybe will help!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are my favorite blogger…always up to date, changes all day long. You work so hard and that is frustrating. I am a teacher and let me tell you that I felt the same way last week when I read two term papers taking directly (not even one word changed) from the internet. Have some integrity peopl! You are doing a great job and I REALLY appreciate all your hard work. You help me every day and that really matters to me! Jen

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Amen to that!!! This is, by far, my favorite blog site. You do a FABULOUS job. And as a writer by profession, I know how awful it feels to put your heart and soul into something and have someone else just take it and claim it as their own. Good for you for speaking your mind. I know I can speak for others when I say your blog is amazing. It covers different information that I find anywhere else and it’s obvious that you take a considerable amount of time and pride keeping it up daily. You go girl! Keep up the excellent work!! I’m a huge fan!

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I like your blog. Whenever I check your blog, there’s always a new post. I think you should put a line in the end of any of your post saying “do not copy this post without the author’s permission or I’ll sue u 😀 jk” or something like that.

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Those meanies! I LOVE LOVE your blog and I am sorry people try and take your great ideas and words and steal your creativity and wisdom! I always tell everyone, go on hip2save, she is my FAVORITE!

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s not easy to create all the posts, especially ones as creative and as original as yours. After wading through numerous blogs on the topic of freebies/coupons, yours is by far a standout. I check it out at least once a day, usually more.

Keep up the great work and I hope those nasty plagiarizers realize the error of their ways and come up with their own ideas!

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I totally understand and you have my sympathy. Nothing hurts more than working hard on something and not being recognized or given the credit (or at least a “pat on the back”). My friend sent me your page and told me how wonderful it it…she was right! I check it out daily! I live in a very rural area so some of the deal’s (restaurant’s mostly) do not pertain to me…but that’s o.k. I just love to see what you post every day (even my 10 yr old daughter checks it w/me)! Thanks for all your hard work!!

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

We all appreciate your wonderful work scoping out the latest and greatest in bargains and coupons. Please, keep up the great work.

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree completely. You are my favorite blog and I check you site many times a day. I don’t read alot of the others anymore because they all seem to just copy each other. Yours always has original things that you don’t see anywhere else. Keep up the great work!! You have helped my family to save a lot of money. Thanks!!

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I totally agree! Your blog rocks!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re so right and I’m sorry this has happened to you! Thank you for inspiring many of us to save money and live better (haha isn’t that the Walmart slogan, I knew it sounded familiar!!). 🙂 I’m brand-new to couponing and have learned SO much from your site. Be encouraged by your many loyal readers, I hope you get more & more!!

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Preach on sister 🙂

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m sorry that is happening! I appreciate your blog so much and is my favorite money saving blog of them all…it is very evident that you put in A LOT of time finding good deals and posting them. I hope you get something for all your work besides the satisfaction of saving others money. Do you get an income from advertisments, etc? I sure hope so. Thanks again for all your hard work!!!! I’ve gotten a lot of freebies and coupons from this site that aren’t on other sites.

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I love your blog. Rather than posting your hard work on my blog to share with others I have told everyone I know about your blog and now they are all addicted too! You have saved me sooo much time and money and it is a shame that people don’t respect your hard work. I do and I greatly appreciate it. Keep up the great work. We all love you!!!

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Love your blog. I am always amazed at the deals and freebies you find, and they are always posted way before other blogs I’ve seen. I don’t know how you do it, but keep it up. Sorry to hear you are being taking advantage of, but know there are tons of us out there that love and appreciate your work!!

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just want you to know that you have the best blog going and I read it several times a day. Don’t let the lazy people get to you. i recommend your blog to people all the time. Keep up the great work. Thank you. TJ

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What you have done for me is incredible and amazing, and it is an amazing amount of work. Even though you post all of this, I still spend hours combing books and ads. I’ve saved hundreds of dollars in just 3 weeks. Usually I delay or just buy it at Costco and try to make myself feel better… but now I’m crazy about coupons, in fact, yesterday I took a trip to Rite Aid, purchased Aleeve D and Clari tin for zero dollars…that was after a few various coupons and a rebate.

Sadly it sounds like I’m not the only one who loves your site, but instead of being honest someone is being dishonest. I think that in the coupon world we can get a little crazy, but we should think long and hard about things… ‘just because you can, doesn’t mean you should’

I wish that person would stop so it wouldn’t ruin it for the rest of us. Keep up the GREAT work.

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Preach it, Sister!! You have such a unique style and such fabulous information. I can echo the other comments here, because I also check your site multiple times a day… just to keep up with you!! It takes so much effort for you to be so thorough and unique. We do appreciate it!

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Amen to that!!! Your site is awesome. Im pretty new at this coupon stuff and your site is the one I always turn back to check a couple times a day. Your the one spending all your time on your blog and everyone else is sipping tea and stealing your hard work.
