Finally some new deal pics!

I went to Rite Aid first and have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Rite Aid $5 off $25 coupon?!? Anyway, I ended up snagging 4 (2 pks) of Olay Bar soap, 2 Excedrin Migraine and 9 packs of Mentos gum for a total of .68! I actually was only able to use one $2 Excedrin coupon because my total would have been in the negative. My coupon overage actually helped pay my tax too!

Next on to CVS! I purchased 6 cans of Pringles, 1 Skintimate and 2 Schick Intuition Razors for a total cost of $1.31. I did use $7 worth of Extra Care Bucks, but received$3.49 back for the Skintimate purchased. I thought I did pretty well considering almost everything was out of stock!

Alright, now Walgreens… my favorite store! I know Walgreens can be difficult to shop at, especially when you don’t have the nicest cashier. I am lucky enough to have by far one of the best cashiers I’ve ever come across. She gets as excited as I do over the deals!! Today I managed to snag almost everything pictured below FREE! I was also happy to stumble upon some great clearance. Select L’Oreal Men’s Skincare products were on clearance for only $1.79-down from $10+. I purchased four and used two $3/2 coupon from the 2/1 Red Plum insert. The final cost ended up only being $1.16 for all four products… not bad. Definitely keep your eyes out for these L’Oreal products next time you’re their. They should be located by the razors and shaving cream.
I would have taken pictures of my receipt, but as you can probably tell from looking below… I had to do multiple transactions and have about 9 receipts!

I also went to Target and the Commissary. I did really well and spent under $90 total. That probably does sound like a lot, but I picked up a ton of Easter goodies at Target and loaded up on groceries at the Commissary!
So there is my day for ya! Can you tell why I’m tired?:)

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

hip2save..how many newspapers do you get a week for all the coupons?

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Are you able to use internet coupons at Rite aid??? I was told that I could only use 1 internet coupon per order per day. My Rite Aid also told that you can only use the 5 off 25 later the coupon total. Needless to say, the cashier was not the most coupon freindly. This was my first experience at a Rite Aid and probably my last.

I love Walgreens they are very easy for me to work with.

I wish we had a CVS.

GREAT DEALS – I’m not that good yet.

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Why do I feel so retarded that I can’t catch on to how to do all this?

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Nice work! you got a lot of practical stuff. Check out what I got this week:)
Oh, and I kind of forgot about the Rite aid deals, so I’m glad you mentioned them. https://beingdutchgetsyoumuch.blogspot.com/

    Memories,
I know what your saying! I too am trying to be an aggressive coupon/deal kind of girl. I most always shop at Walmart..only been to Rite Aid a few times..and have never stepped food into a Walgreens..yet lol.

I understand the whole store coupon matched with the manufacturers coupon..using the stores “card savers” card just like Safeway. But I’m just kind of scared of loading up and having multiple items with matching coupons and hoping the cashier doesn’t say “ahhh ya..NO..not here lady” and I’m all red faced.

I do kind of fine with my baby steps. But hope to me a master just like Hip2save lol.

    Anonymous #1,
The newspaper in my area is horrible when it comes to coupon inserts, so I have someone send me inserts every 2 weeks. I usually get about 10-15 like inserts for each week.

    Anonymous #2,
My Rite Aid is pretty coupon friendly and will usually let me use Internet printed coupons. However, I have been in a few times and they have rejected them… so it really does depend on the cashier you get.

Oh and I’ve always been able to use the $5 of $25 coupon before all manuf. coupons. I would stand your ground on this if they tell you no. Manuf. coupons are like cash to them and so it shouldn’t even be an issue to use the $5 off $25 coupon first– because you ARE spending over $25.

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Great Savings!!! I love Walgreens!!!

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

is it true that at walgreens you can only use one register rewards to pay per transaction?

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Do you coupon match at the commissary and if so do you ever publish a list for it? Or have a site that has a good list for coupons with sales at the commissary? Thanks!

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Nancy,
You can use more then one Register Reward per transaction. Just make sure that you have inexpenxive “filler” items if you already have a manuf. coupon for each item you’re purchasing. Register Rewards are considered manuf. coupons, so they have to have an item to attach themselves too.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Mandy,
You’ve read my mind–This is something I’m working on and am hoping to post deals and coupon match ups for the commissary starting next week.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That would be awesome, I try to do it but would like to see your list as you have a more “experienced” eye 🙂
    Thanks!

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

T- Maybe you and I should be come good friends and overcome this fear together.
My walgreens had the rudest lady at the cashier desk and It made me never want to go back again. I still don’t understand all the little codes and stuff, and how to get things for .68 cents! But I am willing to learn! I too can do the in store coupons, and the manufactors coupons, but understand what to buy first to get what and what I don’t get! lol
My husband says though, if it were easy everyone would be doing it…so I keep trying. keep on chugging keep on chugging

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the tip on Men’s L’Oreal products. They were priced $2.69 here in Chicago which was a bit higher than what you paid…but still a good price since they retail normally for over $10.

Love the blog – check it daily and always seem to find useful information!!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

OMG! HIP2SAVE you did AWESOME! (hamster voice from bol) LOL. I can’t wait to see your deals on the commissary! I was going to ask that very question. Glad that Megan asked and your taking on that challenge! LOVE your blog, I am guilty to say that I even check it on my blackberry! LOL

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oops typos. Sorry meant to say voice from BOLT and I see its not Megan it’s Mandy! My apologies I am the worst speller, when I text from my blackberry.

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Does your Riteaid adjust your coupons down to the price of the item? I was trying to buy the Excedrin for $1.99 and use my $2 coupon and they would not let me use it. I called Corperate and they also told me if the price of the item is less than the coupon that I am not able to use it. They will not ajust the coupon down. That is their policy. Hmmmm,

    Thanks

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Joelle,
I have not had any problems yet with coupons that create overage. However, that may be due to the coupon friendly cashiers that I usually get.

Oh and the $2 Excedrin coupon didn’t beep when it was scanned either.

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just got back from a different Riteaid and they took my coupons with no hesitation. The manager and cashier even ranted and raved about how smart of a shopper I am. 🙂 I will go to this store next time I have coupons over the price of the item. Thanks so much for all you do!! I check your blog daily!

    Joelle

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great Deals! I have so much fun bargain shopping! I had a great Target run and hit CVS for some 75-90 percent off clearance items. Love those deals!

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Memories,
Yes! That would be great! Like I said, I haven’t yet been to Walgreens so I have never tried the double coupon thing. I agree with some..its the cashier that holds the key in some cases. But I don’t know why one cashier will do it while the other will not.

I worked as a cashier at Walmart for 1 year, and at first the register would not beep if an item didn’t match the coupon. Lots of people were coming in and doing large transactions and passing over coupons even for stuff they didn’t even purchase and the register would take it. They finally changed it to where you had to buy the item to get to use the coupon..which made sense.

Now, I have cashiers who are like “if it takes it and does not beep, then all is well.” The others are just he!! bent on saying no and I don’t know why. Maybe they are jealous we shop better than they do lol.

Finding deals I’m still learning. I take my coupons with me and some I only use if the item is on sale for a better deal. Yesterday I bought a 4 pack of disposable razors for women and they were usually $3.99 on sale for $2.99 and I had a $2.00 coupon so got them for .99. This weekend though..my shopping was a total bust lol..and I saved a whole $4.85 in coupons.
