I did end up doing a quick shopping run last night and I do mean quick. My hubby got off work earlier then usual, so I was able to shop without the kiddos. A nice little treat… but I did have to hurry and get back before dinner.

Anyway, I went to Rite Aid first with a plan in mind… of course it didn’t end up going as planned. Everything was pretty much out stock and I was really hoping to snag a few free Glade candles. I didn’t do too bad, though! My total was just $1.81… all due to the wonderful $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon!

I had so much fun at Walgreens. My first transactions was the Bayer Meter and 6 travel size Dove deodorants. I purchased those so I’d be able to use the $6 Register Reward and the FREE toothpaste coupon on my next transaction. I ended up spending $2.85 on those, mainly due to tax.
My second transaction was awesome! Some of the highlights: 4 Mrs. Smith pumpkin pies on clearance for $1, Gorton’s fish fillets on clearance for $1, Bic Soleil Razors on clearance for $1.79, 11 almost FREE One A Day multi-vitamin drink mixes and more! I was so happy to have my coupon binder with me. I had previously printed off a bunch of the $2 Bic Soleil coupons, so I was really able to stock up. I will also get back $1.49 for one of the One A Day Vitamins. My total for everything was $9.97! However, I did use a $6 Register Reward from my first transaction and a $3 Register Reward from the Edge I snagged last week.

When I got home the first thing I did was put my oh so yummy $1 Pumpkin pie in the oven and then of course had a big bowl of Breyers vanilla ice cream and a slice of pie later that night. Why does my sweet tooth always kick into full gear in the evening?!?

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are amazing! How do you get Rolling rewards at Walgreens and whats does PG stand for? As you can tell i am new at this!

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I will forever be in awe of you. Seriously, I don’t even come close to this. I’m slightly interested in your coupon binder… how do you have things organized?

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Anonymous #1,
I wasn’t able to get overage on the Bic Soleil. I purchased 7 razors and used 6 $2 coupons. That way they all scanned without beeps!:)

    Anonymous #2,
The PG stands for Proctor and Gamble. It’s a coupon insert found in the Sunday paper.

You can roll Register Rewards by purchasing something that will generate an RR, then using it on a different deal that will generate another RR.

You may want to check out my Walgreens Store guide post on the right hand side of my blog.

    Sara,

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    I love you…haha-you kick CouponMom’s butt!!

You are a high “roller” for sure!!

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I can’t wait to see how you organize your coupons- that is one of my biggest problems, finding the ones I am looking for in my hodgepodge coupon file.

Also, I wish I could go SHOPPING with you! I think I need to see in person exactly what’s being done in order to really *get* how to get such great deals! Like, HOW in the world did you save $127?!?! And only pay $10? I need to know… it’s killing me that I can’t figure this out yet!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This is more fun than a person should have!! 🙂

Thanks to you, I was able to get 6 dove and 6 degree deoderants for next to nothing, and now I have the $12 RR to use next week! What a blast! I am saving my Unilever receipts for that $20 rebate too!

I also am eager to hear how you organize your Q’s. I like to keep mine un-cut so I can easily refer back to them by date, however, I can’t haul all of those to the store with me that way, so I often miss out on great clearance deals because all my Q’s are at home!

I am staying tuned for more of your GREAT ideas!

hey to make the bayer meter deal even sweeter than it allready is, look for the 6 oz crest toothpastes boxes with the full sized mouthwash bonus in them the coupon works for those i’ve gotton 4 of them so far but i did not find them in every walgreens and they were on the top of an endcap in a special displaybox in one of the stores that i did find them at.
    good luck
    ida

    Oh, I am in awe.

I so wish I could go shopping with you too!

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Do the trial size Dove deoderants really work for the RR? In the ad it specifies 1.7-2.7 oz size. I am afraid if I try it I will end up with a bunch of small deoderants and no RR.

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You did such an awesome job – look at all of your great finds! I’m really hoping to get in on the Dove/Degree deal tonight!

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Anonymous,
The $6RR as of now is still printing for the travel size Dove deodorant.

If for some reason it doesn’t print for you, then you can always return them at a later time.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are awesome!!! thanks for sharing.

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’ve gotten the Unilever RR to print on travel deodorant sizes — Dove, Degree, and Degree Men. The RR also prints w/ full-size Degree Ultra Clear, clearanced for $1.09-1.69. Combine that with the printable $.75 coupon…sweet deal!!

I’m about to tear up here wishing I could do what you can do! lol
I’m going to try out Walgreens next shopping trip. I have never been there before and I’m a bit nervous because I don’t want to have the register beep at me if I do something wrong.
I for the most part understand all the manufacturer coupon/store coupon..RR. Its just the combo to use them and to make more RR. When using the $5/$25, do you hand over that coupon first before you hand over the item coupons? That way the total is still $25 or more before coupon deductions?

I had a small coupon organizer I bought at Walmart. BUT..even though I had it separated by departments and such, it was so difficult to find what I was looking for and it was just messy. So I switched to a regular 3 ring binder, and a pack of baseball card sleeves for 3 ring binders in the sports card section of my store. I place the coupons in the sleeves separated by the departments/items. Now I just flip through the binder like I’m looking at photographs and find the coupons right off! The problem?…my husband pretends he doesn’t know me lol. Solution? Large purse to hide the binder lol.

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    T,
You are so funny! That is exactly what I do! My purse is HUGE!:)… and yes my hubby pretends he doesn’t know me either!

Oh and to answer your question. I have the cashier scan all my items and then I gave her the $5 off $25 coupon first, then all the manufacturer coupons.

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The trial size dove deodorant did not work for me last night. I bought six of them and got no RR. I want to try again at a different WAGS tonight but afraid I may not get the RR and then I’m stuck with 12 deodorants that I don’t need. I haven’t returned the ones I bought last night, just afraid they will question why I’m returning.

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Where is this $5/$25 Rite aid coupon??? 🙂

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Scroll down to Rite Aid under Store Specific deals on the right hand side of my site. Click there and scroll down and you should be able to see the link to the $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon.

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh duh!Okay i get it. Rite Aid is a store. We don’t have one around here and I’ve never heard of it.. But thanks. (re: $5/$25 coupon)

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

T, and Hip 2 Save, That is funny that you mentioned that about the husbands! I’ve been following you site for about 1 1/2 or 2 months now and show my hubby my great deals. Last week, my regular shopping partner couldn’t go with me and I had some register rewards that would expire that night if I didn’t use them..$28 worth! So I has going to head over to Walgreens and Target (40 miles away)by myself but then my hubby said that he wanted to go to and see how I did it… while bringing our 8 month old with us! I told him that was fine as long as he knew he’d be in charge of the baby…I’d be in my deal shopping zone! So off we go. We get there and the “little monster” was pulling items off the shelves and grabbing things right and left. (As my husband became quickly and easily distracted) Hubby also would throw things in my cart that I didn’t have a coupon for which about put me over the edge! He totally brought down my percentage! On the way home, his cell phone rang and he told his friend that he just went on one of my big shopping trips and he’d never do that again…too much work..needless-to-say I’d never allow him to either!:)

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I never find good priced clearance food at my Walgreen’s. 🙁
    Lucky You!

  28. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    T….
    That is so funny!!!
I just made a binder and when I bring mine my boyfriend pretends not to know me too!
He will walk WAY in front of me!
I guess he is doesn’t like how I save money.
    LOL!

  29. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How r u able to print all those coupons?

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have 3 computers in my home I’m able to access. That’s why I was able to print off 6 Bic Soleil coupons-2 from each computer.

  31. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

my friend tried to purchase 6 travel degree deodorants yesterday and only a $2 RR printed 🙁 The store was ot of the Dove. so ymmv? I still have not been able to sneak away and try any deals yet! Hope to find something when I do go!

  32. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Hi Collin,
as I have said before, I love your site! You are so smart and I am seeking your advose now. Yesterday I went to Rite Aid and finaly I saw on the shelf 2pc Olay bar soaps. I had a rain check from last week but only 4 $2 coupons so I picked up some Aveeno products to go over $25 purchase to use $5 off Rite Aid coupon. When they saw my bunch of coupons they were so rude. They didn’t accept the 2 IP Aveeno coupons. I told them they have a new policy but they didn’t agree. Then they didn’t accept my $5 off $25 Rite aid coupon because they said I have to have $25 AFTER the other coupons. Thay made nasty comments like “You get it for cheep, what do you want – to not pay anything…” I felt very ashamed and I am still depressed. I don’t know what to do…

  33. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

awesome!!! out store doesn’t have carry the pie’s, boo! But what was the deal to be had on the ice cream, if you don’t mind sharing? Thank you!!!

  34. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Zee,
I am so sorry that happened to you! Just hold your head up high and ignore their rude comments.

This has happened to me in the past and I always stick to my guns and nicely tell them that my total is $25. I also explain that the manuf. coupons I’m using are like CASH to the store. If they still won’t let me I ask for a manager. Employees need to be educated about coupons… I swear they all have no clue.

I wish I could go shopping with you. You would probably be quite embarrased if you saw the extent I will go to to have them accept my coupons!:)
