I just watched the video…heartbreaking. I eat very little meat…but I don’t know if I can eat it ever again after watching that.

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What happpen to the butter chicken post?
    Where they go?

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That was the most horrifying video I ever watched in my life. How sad is it we eat meat and dont think twice about how it got to us. I cant believe animals
    treated that way. Repulsive!!!!!!!
I will think twice about ordering meat next time I eat.

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Misleading! Not all animals are treated badly… my parents raise cattle; they are free-range and taken very well care of, as they are on all the ranches that we know of. It is too bad that some peoople do treat animals in this way, but certainly not all animals are abused like that! I will continue to eat meat, and everyone should consider who made this video and their adgenda; they will show you the very worst, not the norm. PETA and their likes have even been known to stage videos similar to this to advance their cause.
I find it rather sickening that we live in a country where animals are touted to have so many rights, yet we kill our unborn??? I will consider animal rights when OUR innocent have rights.

Please don’t base all of your opinions based on Peta material. My husband is a veterinarian (a kind one, at that) and they (PETA) continue to hassle vets and vet clinics to no end. We are also ranchers who treat our animals well and our butcher process is very humane and ethical. Yes, there are some horrible things out there, but extreme groups like Peta do focus on the most horrible of situations.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

what happened to the butter chicken thing?

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hip to save, was that Butter Chicken site not legit? I gave them my address and now I am worried..

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Me too. I’m worried

thank you so much for your comments. I have an 18 year old who is so upset about this and I didn’t have any answer for her since Ive never been on a ranch or a farm. Thank you so much.

    Sorry, guys!:(
I went with what a few readers wrote and took it down. After looking further it’s based out of New Zealand and well, I’m guessing we won’t receive this…

Don’t worry, though. I’ve signed up for sooooo many freebies in the past that were actually just spam sites. I also sign up with my “freebie” email account. The worst thing that happens is you get some junk email that you’ll need to delete.

I am personally a vegetarian because of the way animals that are used to produce mass quantities of meat are treated. I am sure those of you who have posted that live on ranch and raise cattle for beef treat your cattle with respect and dignity; however, ranchers like you all are the ones selling to the major grocery store chains. The meat consumed from your local grocery is treated like that most of the time. It is a sad fact, but it’s reality. Also, I think that abortion and animal rights are two completely different issues and should be kept as such.

I have to speak up for the agricultural industry, too. My husband raises calves and heifers on a large dairy farm, and for many years we raised beef cows. Somehow we managed to restrain ourselves and not torture animals!

Videos are always chosen to show the worst of the worst, never companies that have the best practices.

As far as PETA is concerned, just by chance today I happened on the following — they are offering $1M to whoever develops the first successful in vitro meat production. To quote their website, “In vitro meat production would use animal stem cells that would be placed in a medium to grow and reproduce. The result would mimic flesh and could be cooked and eaten.” (Yummy!) While there are many fine people involved with PETA, sometimes the organization’s overriding philosophy seems a little nutty.

    dear mrosev14;
I would really like to know where you get the info that you base your belief that the majority of animals are abused from. I live in MT and have never come across this type of ‘animal farming’ (abusive). My father raises beef and also hauls animals for other ranchers nationwide and has never come across such awful conditions.
I would encourage EVERYONE to go by their own experiences and not be brainwashed by groups with an adgenda! Also, while I don’t know that this video was produced by PETA, I would encourage you to do a little research into their actual practices – they talk pretty, but have done some very inhumane things to further their adgenda…

To anyone – If you are really concerned about the way your meat has been raised and harvested, visit a local farm/ranch; many will allow you to purchase your animals directly. You get a better deal and so do the ranchers. Many have standing relationships with local butchers and you can choose your animal ‘on the hoof’ (live) – they arrange for the processor to come and take care of your animal, and you can pick it up directly from the processor, packaged and frozen.

In the meantime, I’ll take your share of T-Bones, Prime Rib, fried chicken, ham…

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How about a free offer from an international adoption agency along with a free video of an abortion? PETA people don’t ever want to talk about abortion. Ethics only go so far is suppose.

For those who are truly interested in where their food comes from, I would recommend reading a book called “Eating.” Then you will be educated to form your own opinion. Thank you Hip2Save for sharing all of your online finds with all of us!
