Here are a few great Target Deal Scenarios:

Price matched with Walgreens ad
Total=$9.95

(You’ll need to login or register to access the coupon)

At my Target they will only price match on the item that is pictured… So pointless 🙁

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow, could you do that with the Edy’s at CVS this week? It’s BOGOF and with the man coupon of $1.00 off and Target $1.00 off coupon, you could get 2 for somewhere between .50 and $1.00?
    Sweet!

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My store is the same way, will only match if it is pictured and listed in the wording. . .is there a corporate policy on exactly how the price matching works?

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Walgreens ad is so confusing this week. It says General Mills cereal 10.5 oz – 14 oz I believe $1.99.

But when you go there it is only on a select General Mills cereals. I was bummed b/c I wanted to get Trix and it rang up $3.50 even though it was within the size guidelines.

Very deceiving Walgreens ad this week.

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I don’t think they match BOGO sales… am I wrong? I have never tried it but read that.

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh I was replying to Julies EDY comment, not this cereal post!

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The coco puffs links say I reached my print limit, I’ve never even printed it from there! 🙁

If anyone is shopping at the Target in Limerick and you haven’t been there recently you are in for a surprise. They are in the process of putting in produce and possibly a bakery. The guy I talked to wasn’t very clear about the bakery.
At any rate this means that currently the food section is dismantled. You can get some things, but the cereal section is gone. It was there a few days ago, but this morning it was gone. Not sure how long this transition will take, but in the meantime you may want to head to the Target in Oaks.

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great idea but read the below:

Price matching will apply to current, local print ads for in-store products only. Our price-match policy is not applicable to Target.com or other online ads. The following is a full list of exclusions:
    Target.com or online retail promotion
    Competitor’s Free Product
    GiftCards
    Limited quantity items
    Open box or damaged
    Clearance or closeout
    Mail-in offers
    Services (warranties, assembly, etc.)
    Bundle offers
    Special order
    Sales-tax promotions
    Liquidation/going out of business
    Special financing
    Coupons
    Used or previously owned
    Display merchandise
    Pricing or typographical errors
    Club or loyalty

    Bummer!!!!!!!!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So since “coupons” is listed as an exclusion does that mean that if I used a coupon at Target on the GM cereal that they will consider this an exclusion? I’m going to try it anyways, but has anyone done this successfully yet?

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If they’re price-matching the cereal, will they still give you the $5 gc? I’m betting not.

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

they already sh** a brick over coupons and now you want me to walk in there with a wags ad and say “I want you to scan my 40+ coupons but first lets take price matching”

    NO THANK YOU

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My experience last night was that they won’t take a manufacturer coupon AND a Target coupon for the Fiber One cereal because of the wording on the Manufacturer coupon – “Consumer: No other coupon may be used with this coupon.” Apparently, it’s a very new policy, and the cashiers have been trained in it.

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The walgreens ad won’t work for the fiber one cereals because of the size.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Even if the price matching works, I can’t figure out why you would want to use 5 Target coupons when it specifically says “1 per transaction”
AND people wonder why the cashiers and managers give couponers grief over the use of Target coupons. Things that make you go HMMMMMMMM!

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I bought my 5 boxes of Fiber One cereal this morning at Target. I planned to try to get them to price match with the Walgreens ad, but since Fiber One is not pictured or mentioned AND the size is not included, I decided to scrap it. I bought 5 boxes for $12.50, used 5 Target $1/1 coupons and 3 $.75/1 manuf. coupons and one $1/2 manuf. coupon. I had no problem with beeping or anything and I got my gift card just fine. Total: $.75 profit!

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think the important thing to note is the new policy, not if this particular deal will work…with this cereal…today.

I still want to know the answer to Anonymous – what about the word “Coupons” on that list?!

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Kelly,

Just last week i had to call Corp. about a MFG Q saying “cannot be used with any other coupon” and Corp explained to my Target Management that MFG coupon restrictions only apply to other MFG Q and Target restrictions only aspply to other Target Q etc. The two do not cancel each other out. you might want to be talking to Corp instead of just management becasue i think our general experience on here is that Target management does not know their own coupon policy any more than the cashiers.

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Target deal:

Hillshire lunch meat: Priced at $3.04….used $1.00 off Target coupon and a peelie right on the container for 3.00 off 2. Finally price .50 cents for lunch meat.

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Nothing comes up on the link for the $1 manufacturer coupon, for me anyway, I guess everyone else can get it?

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just got back from Target with two boxes of Cocoa Puffs for free! Actually they paid me .02 each. But I had to go to customer service because that’s the only register that is set up to do the competitors ad discount. The manager on duty was awesome and really helpful. But I was there at 8:30 at night purposely to avoid the crowds. I also came armed with the Walgreens ad and copy of their policy. There’s at least one Target that’s great!

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I had a great experience at Target with the new ad match policy. They said that the exclusion policy on the coupons with the ad match is the in-ad coupons from the competitor. So Walgreens “.99 coupon” for the Palmolive for example wouldn’t work because it is a “coipon item” not an “on-sale” item from Walgreens. So you couldn’t ad-match that. But you CAN you coupons with the ad match.

I even had them check the policy because I told them I did not want to do anything dishonest. They said I could do any General Mills cereal as long as it was within the size requirements because the ad did not state “on selected varieties”

So….I ended up walking out the door with 2 free cereals and 5 more at just $1 PLUS the glade candle sale from Walgreens 2 (2oz) for $4 for only $.50 each. Not bad in my book

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My target in CT wouldn’t do it with this deal due to the gift card being given with 5 boxes. If I wanted to buy <4 boxes they would have done the price match. I called target corporate and they agreed. With the gift card the price comes out to less than Walgreens so they won't adjust the original price.

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The itme must be pictured or mentioned in the wording. The Fiber One is not within the size guidelines so it won’t work, I tried anyways but no luck. They did tell me that if it did work I would still have been able to use my coupons and get the $5 gift card.

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just had a great experience at Target. No problem with the price match on the cocoa puffs. The cashier did remind me i need to bring in the entire ad to get the match. All in all i got 5 boxes of cocoa puffs for 9 CENTS (You still have to pay the tax). I’m very pleased with my target!!

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just did the deal at Target. I went to the sevice desk with my 5 boxes of Fiber One. First they were not going to price match due to the $5.00 gift card. Then the CS got a manager and she told me that the sizes are different. The boxe sizes are too big at Target. I did the deal anyway.

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just tried using the $1/2 market Pantry cheese products, but the string cheese was on $.40 and added up to less than a $1. They told me that they couldn’t use the coupon if its worth more than what you’re buying : ( LAME

  28. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Tried the deal on Cocoa puffs yesterday. Had to have the actual ad from Walgreens, printed ad off internet would not work. Also computer would not accept the $1 target coupon- kept coming up invalid when cashier scanned it.

  29. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I argued with the manager about the rice matching. He said the Cocoa Puffs were not pictured, yet the Walgreen’s Sales Flyer reads “Generals Mills Cereals”, not select, or listed. I won after threatening to call corporate and got his name and number. Unfortunately that turned the cashier into a coupon Nazi and she checked every one and entered the value per item, and tried to give me trouble when I used the Target General Mills coupons on top of the Manufacturer’s. When I explained it to her and asked if she wanted to ask the manager about it and have me call corporate for him again to explain Target’s Coupon policy, she mumbled under her breath and took them. Got out of there with 6 Cocoa Puffs, 4 GM cereal cups, 10 MP string cheese, Wonka Gummies, 2 BC cookie mix, and MP salted butter to make them with. After using a Target gift card ($5) from the Fibre One cereal deal posted earlier I paid $.38 out of pocket which REALLY chapped the coupon Nazi’s ass. I thanked her for her time, apologized for the length of the transaction and told her to do her homework before she went shopping for anything again.

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

To all Anonymous Posters: Per my previous post, the cashier had to manually override the price to match the Walgreen’s ad. Also, because she was a coupon Nazi, she manually overrid all the Target coupons to match the exact price of the items, $.80 for the cheeses, $.95 for the cereal cups and $.99 for the Cocoa Puffs. Also, read the posts on how to coupon. I am new to this and this site (2 weeks) and learned fast that you have to scout the cashiers for the ‘Jedi’. I usually look for a college age male at Target. They really don’t care about what coupons are used. The first kid I picked had to manually override so many Target coupons that he did the same thing with 4 $1.00 coupons that I forgot to remove from the stack for product they were out of stock on.

Frustrating trip as well. The target manager told me she could not honor the price matching because there was a limit of 4 items stated on the Walgreen’s flyer. She did honor a total of 4 boxes of Coco Puffs and Cinn. Toast Crunch because they were posted in the picture. It took forever to refund my money because I had used 2 coupons per box of cereal. After 15 minutes of waiting it came out to $2.50. Not so sure that was worth my time.

  35. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

they told me I could only get 4 boxes after I had brought up 10 to the desk. Then they said well we shouldnt even be doing a price match with walgreens. It is companys like walmart, kmart…she finally let me do just 4.

  36. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

do you have to go to customer service to get the price matched prices or can you go to any cashier for them to adjust it?

thanks for all your hard work in compiling these for us.

    lisa

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

you have to go to customer service desk.

  38. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Our Targets in Montana won’t price match at all

  39. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I did this deal with 6 boxes of Cheerios, used the Target coupons and three $1/2 MFCs and went to the service desk. Got a Jedi. She had never done a price match and wasn’t sure if it would work because the receipt showed the price of the Cheerios after the $1 off target coupon which was lower then the $1.99 in wags ad. But she wanted to see if it would work and tried it and the register handled it fine. So I ended up getting each box for $.49. She was really excited and wanted to get some Cheerios for her family as well so I left her my Wags ad so she could do the same thing! Thanks Hip2Save!

I always find it interesting that the comments most critical of couponers are left anonymous.
We are all trying to get good deals, and most of us are asking questions so that we are honest about them. If you can’t be nice, don’t say anything at all.

The way I read the list of exclusions to the Target price match policy, this deal could be excluded because it is a “limited quantity item”. As we can see, whether this is is enforced or not varies according to the store.

Also, I would read the “coupon” exclusion to mean that they won’t price match competitors coupons.

As for the “one per transaction” policy on the Target coupons, that was added to prevent the people who came in with 100 Target coupons on the same item and cleared out their inventory (It happened with the Goldfish cracker coupon a few years ago). Some stores still allow multiples of the same coupon as long as they don’t feel it is an unreasonable amount. My store has actually trained employees to allow overage & multiples – but, I have never taken more than 5 of the same coupon (usually even less) just so that I don’t freak anyone out and so that the store stays coupon friendly.

I don’t think it is worth ruining my future coupon usage possibilities in order to get 20 free toothpastes now.

  41. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I tried this deal today, and first of all, they said it was limit 4 because that is what the Walgreens ad states. I said, fine, ring up four at that price and the other at regualar Target price. But then the issue was that they could not price adjust on an item that received a free gift card. She had directions at guest services, and it lists that as an exclusion. But, hey, I still made $1.25 on the deal, so I am not complaining. Plus I got two free Cocoa Puffs.
