So, does this mean that this deal should work all month? Or is the $3 RR just for this week?

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

OMG! . I want to jump right in the car but the snow is coming down here and my lo is sick. Hopefully I can get in on this tomorrow.

  3. michelle Beer

If people who DO NOT NEED these are always buying these to make money off of, What happens to the people who do truly NEED these medical devises? I am all for making some extra cash, but people need these for health issues!

  4. Mrs. B

    Michelle-

I donate mine. Most people that NEED them dont even have the coupons 🙁 I just passed 2 on to my aunt who knew people that could really use it.

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

People who do not need them DONATE them. (c: I have never seen a shortage of these meters anyway….

  6. michelle

Donating is great, wasting is not!

  7. Aliya

I was just about to ask what you do with all the stuff that you buy to make money but you don’t really need. But I see that’s already the talk here. Donating them is a great idea! I’m sure there are lots of people out there who need these and just can’t afford them.

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep my diabetic husband and father do need these, thank you very much!

  9. Mrs. B

Donating is GREAT! Its a good feeling. Im sure those who recieve the donated items dont wonder if we ‘made money’ off the deal. Even when I have a stockpile of things I love, I donate.

  10. Cecilia

Can i buy two of the blue ones or does it have to be one green and one blue, to get the two 5 RR and the 3 RR??

    THanks

  11. tammy

I love it when I can get these. My father doesn’t have insurance and I get them so he can have the strips and extra machines. He has little income and depends on these strips. This is a really great deal to help him out, because I can use the rr to get strips also. Thank you so much for posting this deal Collin!

  12. Paragon

Anybody has these coupons, I want to get these for my dad.

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Is the coupon regional? I dont see it in my RP 10/25

  14. sassypants

yes WE HERE DONATE stuff we cant use.. aside from the boxes and boxes of kleenex i got.. 😉

  15. SandyK

Once again you bring me great news! Thanks for the scoop. I’m off to WAGS!!!

  16. AlishaK

Has anyone tried this yet? Both meters are by Bayer and in the past, I am not aware of being able to get 2 RR’s from the same manufacturer in the same transaction but if it’ll work in this case, where you get not only 2 but 3 all from Bayer, i would be happy to try!!

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

this is totally off subject but I for those religious people out there please pray for my family. Im a stay at home mom and my husband is self employed and doesnt have any work these 2 weeks leaving us with no paycheck with 2 young kids, one only 6 months old.

    just please pray… thanks

  18. Heather

Can someone please post on where to donate these??

  19. Janelle

I just did it twice at 2 walgreens. it worked great! Thanks!

  20. Stephanie

Yes, I’d also like to know where to donate these…

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Are any of the coupons available..this would be a great deal for me my sister does not have insurance

  22. sassypants

local shelter, local senior center, local food pantry

  23. Mrs. B

    Heather-
google shelters in your area or even nursing homes.

    Alisha-
I just got home and did exactly what Collin said. Even wrote down the UPC’s. Worked perfectly! Got 2 $5 RR, 1 $3 RR…total $13!! Excellent deal!

I cant believe the orginial price of these meters! My goodness!!! I think it was 79.99 & 54.99!!! I plan to donate them again 😉

  24. Paragon

People who got these, dont need them and looking to giveaway. Anybody in NJ, I can really use those for my dad.

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes, there are expiration dates on the box so if you aren’t using them, please donate them ASAP. 🙂

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Does anyone know where I can get any of these coupons for free, sure could use them for my sister………..Thanks!!!

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It worked! I bought 2 of the glucose monitors and got $13 back in RR. Then I bought 2 Revlon Age Defying foundations, but the coupon is only good for the 1 ounce, not the 1.2 ounce, so be careful. My Wags is always higher priced that you guys post — my foundations were $13.99 each, but still a good deal after all the coupons. Thanks so much for posting these bargains!

  28. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

No one answered the question Candy in the first post asked….did they? Maybe I missed it…..is the 3RR just for this week?

  29. Collin (not the mod)

It is super pathetic when people use medical equipment to make money. As a diabetic, I am fed up with bargain sites supporting coupon usage of equipment for a chronic illness. Walk in my shoes one day.

  30. anonymous

Some people, like myself, donate these items to their church and/or local charity. By the way, if a person can not afford diabetic equipment and accessories, there are usually free in their area – contact your local health department. Happy Couponing!!!

  31. Mom of a type 1 diabetic

Collin (not the mod) I agree w/ you!!
Doctor’s offices usually receive glucometers from medical companies to give to their patients who cannot afford them. Please don’t buy these items if YOU DO NOT need them.
My daughter is a type 1 diabetic. She is insulin dependent for likely her entire life(unless our prayers are answered w/ a cure).
I would not wish this disease on my worst enemy. Leave the glucometers at Walgreens for those who need them. Thank you for listening 🙂

  32. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I hunt deals every week and about twice a year, I go to the Salvation Army or Womens Crisis Center and donate a bunch of stuff. It is always so appreciated and makes me feel good to do it. I could use this deal but don’t have those 2 coupons for some reason. I am so bummed……
    Happy shopping and saving..

  33. Allison

I did not get these coupons in my 10/25 Redplum. I am not sure why but would really use them. If anyone has extras or ones that they will not use, I would be glad to send an SASE if you could send them. You can email me at allycat1963@comcast.net if you have them.
    Allie

  34. Mrs. B

Wow. So I guess we shouldnt buy these products even if we donated them? I dont think that is FAIR at all. Do you know how many people probably benefit from these donated items? I can understand if there was a quick sellout. As many times as I have been to my local walgreens, actually the 3 surrounding me, these have ALWAYS been in stock. I have NEVER seen them out of stock. So to me, better for me to scope the items up and DONATE them. Yes, I do make money aka RR off the product, but Im able to donate them as well, to those people who ‘cant’ afford them. It would be such ashame to pass up items because YOU want them & feel we shouldnt purchase or donate them. What about those with diabetes who dont coupon? or read sites? Heck, who probably dont even HAVE computers. I believe in giving back & donating. I dont think its ‘super pathetic’ at all.

  35. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

For those diabetics out there who need them and the store is out of stock the managers have the ability to order them and they would be in before the week is over. As a type one diabetic myself I am lucky to have insurance and dont have to worry about these things, but people like my grandmother who are living off a fixed income, these sales come in handy, and a 90 year old woman is not going to coupon and go out and get these sales so i am going to help her and others out by getting them a free meter and getting some rr so that i can get some free diapers….win win situation.

  36. Brittney

I wasnt couponing when these two coupons came out… Diabetes is something that everyone in my family deals with and find my self in need of one of these quite Often! I do not have medical insurance and a great deal like this would help me save money in my pocket.. If any could spare a coupon i would totally aprecialte it. Please email Me daisy_crazy86@hotmail.com God Bless Brittney

  37. Paragon

Hello, If anybody who has these coupons and not need those please email me at s_paragon_7@yahoo.com. I can use these to buy the meters for my father.
    Thanks

  38. Mrs.Litz

I’m not sure what the problem is with buying them if you’re going to donate them. It’s not as if they aren’t making them anymore or are hard to find. There isn’t a shortage, at least not in my area, the shelf was completely full when I went today. If I can get them for free/cheap and donate them to someone who can’t afford it, what is the problem exactly? My coworker’s husband has diabetes and she thinks it’s wonderful when we can get them to donate. She is also very excited when there are coupons for things they need to manage his illness. I’m not sure why anyone who has or knows someone who has any illness would be unhappy that there are coupons for their supplies.

  39. Mrs. B

    Tara & Mrs. Litz:

I AGREE! That was exactly my point.

  40. sue

I agree, there is no shortage of monitors… and you can get these free w/ q like every other week lately. you dont always get a rr, but still its free, why not do somethign good for someone in a hard spot and “buy it” and then donate it to the local food pantry or shelter. I have gotten quite a few over the last 6 months or so and never have I walked into walgreens or cvs and seen an empty shelf. snaps to you who buy and donate! 🙂

  41. Sandra

Just tried this today at Walgreens and it worked like a charm, thank you for posting this money maker!

  42. Collin (not the mod)

The issue is that you guys only would purchase the meters for the money. Would you touch and donate them if there was no profit?

If you are a diabetic or have an immediate family member who is, this does not apply to you. However, those who are not and purchasing these to make money (and tax write off), you are taking these items off the shelf for people like me who need the meters.

  43. Mrs. B

    Collin (NOT MOD):

To be honest, if I could still use the coupon, then yes because it would still be free. If I had to pay the 14.99 value, no I probably wouldnt buy it. However, what is the difference? Does that take away from me being a ‘good’ person and donating. I dont have the money to shell out here & there, but If I can get it for FREE….and then donate it….heck yeah I’ll do it. I dont see the point you are making. So if I paid full price & then donated it…that makes me a better person. I think no matter what….if you got it for free or paid full price, just by donating is a wonderful cause and should be ALL that matters.

    • mom of a diabetic

Mrs. B and all of you who have angered yourselves over these comments should do something more positive w/ your free time, such as volunteering at a local childrens’ hospital or shelter. Perhaps giving your time to others in need will be more benficial to your well-being. May God Bless you with good health 🙂

  44. Mrs. B

Let me add, Im not doing any of these deals for a ‘tax write off’. You also obviously dont live where I live, because clearly the shelves have NEVER been empty. Im not taking them FROM you, Im DONATING them to someone else that could use them. We can play devils advocate too. What if you were poor, had no means of couponing or computers, and I donated this to YOU? Would you question if I got it for free? made a profit?

  45. Bonnie

    Collin (not the MOD),

I’m with Mrs. B. Your point doesn’t make much sense, the shelves are not cleared of these meters. Go to any pharmacy and you can find them anytime. And like the other commenter said, if you are only able to shop one store and they are out, get them ordered, the deal goes all month. If you are a diabetic and want a free meter and don’t have these coupons, go to the Bayer site, they have a coupon available for you. (requires you to have a prescription) You shouldn’t complain about us “buying them” and donating them for the money. We are doing something good, and it benefits us too. Spending money responsibly is doing good also. There are some families who use coupons to make it work financially for them, instead of relying on government assistance. (Not saying that’s a bad thing, but if you can do something to avoid it you should) This extra money is for them, it pays for things they may not be able to find coupons for. It benefits everyone involved. I get the extra money to spend on things I need, the extra meters get donated to people who really need them (my favorite place is the local nursing homes), Bayer has more people buying the test strips that they sell, and Walgreens gets you to buy more stuff from them because you have to spend the RR in their store. So who does this practice hurt? Sounds more like jealousy to me!

  46. Mrs.Litz

I regularly purchase things that do not give out a profit and just end up being free or cheap to be able to donate. My husband and I are not rich, so buying lots of items at full price to donate is not something we are capable of doing often. However, getting things for free/cheap/just paying tax is a little something we CAN do to be able to do our part and give back. It isn’t as if we are buying up every single one they have, hoarding them away, and selling them for a profit on ebay or something crazy. THAT would be completely wrong. Buying them to donate to someone who otherwise wouldn’t be able to get them isn’t.

  47. Collin (not the mod)

Actually, my point is very valid. You only see this from one side. It’s not ok to make a profit on medical equipment donation or not. Had this not been a money maker, you would have never touched it. Justifying the profit by donating is just weak.

    • Mrs.Litz

I actually regularly buy items that don’t give a profit to be able to donate, including these meters. Usually if it’s less than a dollar I buy everything I can that would be donatable. I also pay tax on everything I buy in our state, free or not. The $13 I made on this yesterday helps comp the cost of the tax and the shipping I AM PAYING to ship these to someone else who needs them. Would you rather I just let them buy them FULL PRICE THEMSELVES (which is close to $100 each) since they didn’t get the coupon and missed the sale? That seems ridiculous if you ask me.

You’re being very one sided also. Is it really okay to make a profit on ANYTHING? What about the poor mom who goes into Wags in the middle of the night to buy diapers and tylenol for her sick child… OOPS they’re out cause everyone bought them at a good deal for a profit… Let’s hang those people out to dry too!

I’m not sure what stores you go to that you are unable to find meters, but I’m sure someone on this board would have been happy to send theirs to you had you not started attacking everyone. I know I would have, but I found someone who is actually VERY grateful to get them I’ll be sending the two I bought yesterday to.

    • dawnbdh

Ok, I am pretty sure I will regret jumping into this wild debate on making a profit with items you don’t personally need however, in an attempt to clarify your position I gotta ask.
Today, I went to Safeway and using coupons, was able to get 10 boxes of wheat thins for free. After I send in the current Nabisco rebate using this receipt, I will make a profit of $10.00. However, I already have a nice stockpile of crackers so I will be donating all 10 boxes to my local food bank. So my question is, does this make me a super pathetic person too or am I okay until I buy the forbidden glucose monitiors?

  48. Collin (not the mod)

To say that I am jealous is ludicrous. I am the one who needs these items to live. I do not need them to cover the cost of my groceries or HBA for whatever reason the person needs the money.

    • mom of a diabetic

Collin (not the mod) you go girl!
Diabetes is an insidious disease and one that I would not wish upon anyone.
I appreciate your making your point for all of us who are diabetic or who act as caregivers, such as in my case. There is no vacation from diabetes, as you know.
For all of you others who have been so quick to anger over this issue, I wish you all peace and good health in the coming year 🙂

    • April

      Here ya go…
I get them and I personally do not need them. I do how ever give them to my fil(as i did with all the meters and strips and lancets that were left when my mother died) and my co-worker. My fil has meters and supposed to check his sugar 2-3 times a day. Well with losing his job and his group insurance he can not do it. He is lucky to check it once a day normally every other day..WHY? because insurance paid for his meter and the ‘supplemental” insurance the company set up for their workers to use for a few months would not pay for his strips so he benfits from the strips in the meter. There has been coupons spit out for the strips and we used the rewards to put with money from his other kids and bought him strips. So now that I am so bad for profiting call the moral police and drag me off.

  49. SandyK

Sounds like there are a few who are upset because they can not get the meters. Don’t displace your anger/frustration onto those who get them and don’t personally need them. They openly disclose they donate them to those who do. I’m sorry you can’t get these meters but I’m stunned you would be angry with those who do, regardless if they make a profit. A diabetic SOMEWHERE benefits. Bayer is well aware of what goes on, and they are lovin’ the fact that we are buying outrageous amounts and passing them on! It’s a total marketing ploy. I think you’re being rather harsh in your judgement of those non-diabetics who make the purchase. If you really need them, just ask your WAGS store manager to order them for you. They will be most happy to do so.
