Love the baskets and great ideas! I always save my plastic eggs and grass. I also use the same baskets for our family every year…what a $$ saver!

    • MommySpendsLess

This is my daughter’s first Easter but I have been thinking about rotating between a few baskets year to year. I’d rather spend more on the presents and, as cute as some of them are, there’s not much to do with them when Easter’s over. How does it go over with your kids? Do they notice or do they think it’s just part of the tradition (kind of like putting out the same stocking for Santa to fill every Christmas)?

      • Laura

we always put our Easter baskets on the table as a kid. that was tradition for us. but the EB hid my hubby’sbasket in the yard (along w/ cute breakfast items)

  9. Linda Wms

What a neat Idea. That got me thinking, Every Easter I have no Idea what to get for my son. He is 16 and doing the low carb thing. so Chocolate bunnies are out. I can do A diet coke basket and put Some atkins bars, Jerky, shower gel, and maybe a gift card er something. thanks.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

what about a IBC Root beer, I think they have diet. Kids love that it looks like a beer bottle.

    • Rosie

My youngest son is 13, a huge sports enthusiast, and not terribly fond of easter “baskets”. Baseball season is coming up so I thought I would fill a new pair of cleats with some treats, toiletries, cologne, a new baseball and a batting glove. Having four sons, I have done this many times. You could of course change up the sports theme, but no matter what you choose, they end up getting alot of what they need and like, all courtesy of the “Easter Bunny”!

    • KellyJ

the root beer is a good idea. thanks. and The baseball in cleats theme is very clever.

  16. anu1c

  23. AmazonsRock

Great Easter Baskets! I’ve been looking for some ideas, and you definitely provided some!

  24. Christy

    Great baskets!

Okay, have got to ask .. you ALWAYS have a cup of coffee in your hand! What is your favorite brand & flavor AND how many cups do you consume in one day? 🙂

Thanks for all that you do!

  25. SaraJC

Love the ideas! and your baskets look great!

  26. Tiphanie

Wow very crafty Collin! Love the pail idea. I’m totally heading to Micheals to use them for the baskets for my girls this year. Love the towel idea too specially since they are 50 cents at target with coupon. For my 6 yr old. I get a pail and put a towel in bottom then set princedd and frog dvd and doll i got for 7 bucks in it. and some eggs filled with candy. A basket for 10 bucks. love it! I still dont know what im doing for my one year old though.

  27. Laura

LOVE THE BASKETS! esp. the guy theme–so many possibilities.

last year, I cut into a plastic orange juice containter (similar to a milk jug but stiffer plastic). It was so easy for my 2 year old to hold, he ended up keeping it for his hotwheel cars. I think I might do that for all my kids this year since I can easily decorate them as well. Old detergent or clorox containers (thoroughly washed) also work well. The soft plush baskets make it hard to hang on to eggs at the egg hunt. For anybody that hates vacuuming the easter grass, I tried cutting green paper w/ a paper cutter. first, fold it accordian style & cut many layers at once.

    • Denise

Or run paper thru a paper shredder. I keep my straight cut shredder for just that reason. I also love to do that to tissue paper!

      • SaraJC

I had never thought of shredding my paper and tissue paper. I think I’ll try that! cool idea.

  28. Melissa

    Amazing Job!

  29. Mrs. B

LOVES the baskets…especially for the males! Great Job!

  30. MoKeaton

So creative. Good ideas. My son says he loves your purple shirt…he’s 2. Good Job. Can’t wait to put mine together.

  31. justmeagain

    Love the Easter baskets—AWESOME.

  32. What?

I did an entire blog entry (with pics and deals) on guy Easter baskets that would also make great college kid care packages. I had a guy basket stocked FULL for I believe $2.95, …might want to check it out. Just scroll down to the the entry! http://www.savingyoursenseandcents.com

    • What?

Oops! It was $5.50 for the guy basket or care package…just look for the post “Easter Ideas!”

  33. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I LOVE the baskets! You did AWESOME Collin!!! I have baskets that I bought a few years ago (after Easter :P) that i use each year. I LOVE the way the beach paile one came out. I jut might have to run to Michaels & grab those for my 3 youngest. You can get those paint pens there or other craft stores & personalize it with there name! You definatly got me thinking! I always like to look for Disney DVDs cheap to add to each basket. This year should be easy with all of the $10 off coupons! Now I am excited after watching your video! Thanks for your inspiration! 😛

  34. Tiffany

wonderful video – again 🙂 Love you and your ideas! Thanks.

I got some of the hotwheels cars that are B1G1 at Walgreens this week and will be putting those in Easter baskets or hiding them in plastic eggs for our Easter egg hunt (Its $1.29 for two which is great and my boys just love them). Also I’m putting in some of the Disney vitamins I got on sale at Rite aid a couple weeks ago – my kids think they are candy (which is bad, I’ve got to keep them up very high!) and the kids spongebob toothpaste I got for .25 cents at Albertsons! Couponing makes holidays so much more fun!!

And yes – Collin you’ve got a very cute figure! Maybe its all the running around to stores, LOL, my husband joked I need to make a grocery store workout video.

  35. Katie Walker

I’m always looking for non-toys and non-candy things to put in my boys’ Easter baskets. The Pail ides is so cute. I bought them nice kites and will throw in a pair of Old Navy flip flops (I think they’re 2 for $5). I like the book idea too!

  36. amy

C’mon guys I thought we were all putting all the pictureka, and monopoly card games we got for .24 or $1 here lately into the easter baskets!LOL My teen daughter is getting some makeup i scored at Rite Aid for free during the Cover Girl sale, fingernail polished make great additions too. My 7 year prefers markers and paints, scored some on the clearance rack at Target last week. I always reuse the easter eggs, and I am going to try to make my own Easter Grass using the paper shredder since my old easter fluff didn;t make the move:( Nothing I hate more than plastic easter grass all over the floor!

  37. Connie

Great video Collin! I love all of your tips and ideas, I can’t believe Easter is already just around the corner 🙂

  38. Lisa Edwards

Great job! Loved getting ideas. Even though I went overboard on my step-children Easter Basket (as always)! But I love to see the smiles on their faces! And really plan on hitting some after Easter sales for decorations and some things for basket stuffing next year! My niece is expecting in June plan on buying a basket after Easter for her shower to stuff with the great deals I have found thanks to this site! Keep up the great job!

  39. Mindy

Love the baskets that you did. It has got me to thinking we are expecting our first child in May. We are having the baby shower soon and we have been trying to think of different things to do or to give a away. I’m thinking it would be a good idea to make a basket up and have a drawing and give it away at the end of the baby shower.

  40. Darcie

you are just too stinkin’ cute, collin! can’t wait to make my hubs a creative basket! thanks

  41. Tracy

Collin, you crack me up. You should have your own show. Quick FYI, you spelled pail wrong at the end of the video. 🙂 OOPS

  42. Jenny Lynn

Way too cute 🙂 Thanks for sharing! Time to get creative!

  43. Hope

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’VE BEEN TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT YOUR SITE….

  44. Laura

    Awesome video as always Collin!

  45. Peggy

Thank you for the great ideas. BTW- I have the exact same rug!

    • Heather

      Looks like an IKEA rug

  46. AC

Great idea. How do you make the film stripe again please? I can’t hear you in youtube. Thanks.

    • Dana

She bought it at Michaels for $2.00 and put the pictures in it herself. They are really cute. I bought a few a while back.

  47. Sarah S.

I’m going to do one using IBC for my boyfriend. Thank you for the idea!

  48. Carolyn

Thanks for all the great tips and ideas! I think I need to hit more yard sales.

I have 2 boys who are into Elmo so I bought a bunch of books in the Target $1.00 bin. I also save my Easter baskets. They have really cute camo eggs at dollar tree. They have the green ones and they might have the pink ones. They are so cute and only $1.00. Aslo for the friend, teacher, or mother you can use a flower pot that you can get for really cheap at dollar tree. You can even decorate it. I also put my kids names on their basket with the foam sticky letters.

  49. Shayna

Great “Man Basket” idea! My husband dosn’t drink, so I am going to make him one with Rootbeer bottles/box. Thanks.

  50. Ann Dee

Yes, we’re all proud of you. Hee, hee. Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas. (o:
