My daughter tried TRU this morning in PA and they said the coupons states cannot be combined with other offers. So no go………..
The stores lately have sure taken the fun out of a coupon havent they? But then again some people just abouse things. One or two deals should make anyone happy!

  2. Ashley

So I went today…I was the first one in the store with another lady. They only had one single pony in stock. They will get more tomorrow she said (when the deal is over). No rain checks either. Bummer! Oh well.. you win some you lose some, but lugging 3 kids to a store before it opens and coming out empty handed is kinda sad. I’m throwing myself a pity party now. I have a feeling though it will be a long day for that TRU with all the customers asking about it. Anyway…life goes on and so do more deals! Happy wednesday!

  3. Brigi

All the My little Pony deals at toysrus worked here in NY. Thanks so much Hip2Save, youre the best! 🙂

  4. Brooke

Just got back and got 4 ponies and 2 cars. My coupons worked great! 🙂

    Good Luck everyone!

  5. bonnie

went to the tru in murfreesboro, tn, and it was a no-go. he “kindly” said i was welcome to save the coupon for another time… oh well… worth a shot…

  6. Rita

I’m having an arthritis flare-up so I may have to skip this one…..I don’t feel like limping and gimping myself over there and possibly getting turned down!

    • Ann Dee

      You’re too cute!

  7. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Went this morning and got 6 ponies! The lady called over the manager to ask her and she goes oh I don’t know. So I explained how the manufacturer pays for one and the store would pay for one and she said well did you try scanning them? The cashier said no and tried them and the manager goes well by god they work! They were really nice about it but for a second I thought I might not get them.

  8. jen

went to mine in ohio and worked great got 8 ponies. The manager told my sister if the computer takes it then they will accept it:)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I happen to be that sister. lol we posted at the same time.

  9. Carolyn

No go on the deal at my TRU. Since they were already BOGO they weren’t taking them
    BOO!

  10. Colleen

In Mi..I bought 6 ponies and was allowed to use 1 of the BOGO coupons..since I had actually ‘purchased’ only 3 of them…I took the deal..I have 6 grand nieces that I making up a little Easter basket for..I figure 6 for the price of 2 is still a good deal..

  11. Ehrin

When I print the $5 coupon for the newborns, convertible, or ferris wheel, the barcodes don’t print completely. It’s not a printer issue b/c other coupons are printing fine. Is anyone else having this problem? Any idea if the coupon will still work?

  12. Kristy

Hi does anyone know if the gift card with the game deal is good for anything or can just be used on more games since it comes form hasbro and not toy r us thanks for anyhelp

    • Ehrin

The gift card doesn’t say anything about being used for games. I was under the assumption that it was just like a regular $5 gift card.

      • Amy

I just used mine today on My Little Pony toys, so it’s anything.

        • Kristy

          Thanks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It can be used as a regular gift card, but it expires the end of June.

  13. Crystal

just got back from TRU in Tigard, OR…Bought Ferris wheel & Convertible & 2 ponies; took of (2) $5.00 coupons & then cashier only gave me 0.49 credit for BOGO (to be honest, did not really understand his reasoning). Total 14.99…still a great deal. Oh, & I met another hip to save reader in the store. I wonder how her transaction went? (I was first in line for the morning).

    • jennifer

      Hi,
I live in Beaverton and so would be going to the Tigard toys r us… I’m wondering if it’s worth going? Are the shelves cleared out? I don’t want to go down there with my two little girls only to find empty shelves!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went when first opend & there were a lot of single ponies for BOGO deal. they also had a lot of stock up above, high on the shelves (but could not see what it was). I would recommend calling them to verify if they have Ferris wheel & convertible.

        • Tia Robertson

finally, some posts from people in the Portland area:) I was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to hit he Jantzen Beach location, but maybe I will call ahead too. Tigard is a bit far for me (Vancouver) and I scored pretty well on the Terra Chips deal ,TS an TS2 with no issues. Any issues with anyone at that store?

    • Bliss Baby Designs

Were you the one I met today? I was there at 9:20 a.m.! Mine went great! I walked the young guy through the transaction and explained very matter of factly how it works with the coupons and thanked him profusly for his time!! He let them all go through just fine! I also bought diapers and stuff too though!

  14. Amy

Ok I went and I am more frustrated than ever. There we no little ponies left. The girl said a lady came in and bought them all out! About 30 of them!! I know that you win some and lose some but its frustrating to hear that people are getting these deals and others are not because either the cashiers are not taking their coupons or because of shelf cleaners! By the way I was there a hour after the store opened. Sorry to vent.

  15. Kathleen

TRU in Springfield, MO would not accept the coupon. They said their system won’t do it. I think it is such BS because other TRUs stores systems obviously handled it based on other people’s post. My poor husband used his lunch break to run down there.

    • mtnhoney

The Manager at the Springfield TRU so does not need to be in any management position.
He was so rude to me over the b2g1 hasbro card Q, when they had the bogo sale on them! We need to be complaining to corporate about him! I won’t do anymore TRU’s deals just because of HIM!

      • Kathleen

I am going to write corporate. It’s not so much they won’t take a BOGO coupon on a BOGO deal. I understand every company has their own coupon policy and it’s their right to decide not to take it. It’s just frustrating that all the TRU stores are inconsistent w/ every deal I have seen posted on here. Last week it was the same that this store would only accept 1 coupon on the Princess and the Frog BOGO deal while other people posted they were able to use 2. Yesterday we were able to buy 3 Hasbro games and use all 3 coupons and other people were not. This drives me nuts and thankfully I wasn’t a big TRU fan in the first place.

    • Steph

Do you think there’s any chance of having better luck later…shift change, perhaps? Or is the same manager always there? I had bad luck this morning too.

      • Kathleen

They had a sign posted by the Princess and the Frog BOGO deal last week and then my husband said they had a sign by the My Little Ponies today. I don’t think a change of shift will make a difference since a decision by the store has already been made.

        • Steph

Oh, there was no sign when I was there at 9:30

    • Betsy

Yeah, they had a sign up, and when I went to ask about it, and explain how ridiculous it was, they didn’t care. Then, when I went to check out the manager (or supervisor) came over to tell the cashier that she couldn’t take any coupons for MLP from me! I was so mad! Oh, well. I should have tried Columbia since I was going to Sam’s anyways, from the Lake. Columbia is closer, but the Springfield Sam’s has better/more stuff. AArgghhh.

  16. Julie

My store said they’ve been sold out of them since the BOGO coupon has been out! What is the good of having a 1 day sale and then not having any in stock that day!!! So frustrating!

  17. Laurie

There were only 3 left in my store at noon. But, I did get two of them for free 🙂 I’m in Media, PA. Thanks for the heads up, Collin!!

  18. April

I went to TRU in Morrow, GA – Bought 6 ponies – only paid tax. Also bought 2 So Soft Newborns priced at 15.99 each – used (2) $5Q’s – total was $5.99+tax. Cashier was super friendly and said he’d rather have a happy customer, than an upset one. Definitely will shop that store again with Q’s.

  19. Anonymous

Thanks to the person who took EVERY last single pony at the Greenville, SC Toys R Us! I got there a little after opening and EVERY pony was gone and only 2 or 3 playsets left. I saw a lady leaving as I pulled in loading up her vehicle with MLP stuff. Way to leave something for someone else lady! I can’t believe TRU let her wipe off the shelves like that. I’m sorry, but that is just rude.

Luckily, I was able to get two playsets and since they were out of ponies, they let me use the single pony coupon on the Ponyville tubes since they were the same price. But I got stuck with two of the same one.

Please remember to be considerate and leave some for others! I drove 45 minutes out of my way and couldn’t even get what I wanted!

    • Julie

I went there at about 9:45am and one associate told me they didn’t have any of the single ponies when the store opened. She said since the BOGO coupon has been out they haven’t been able to keep them in stock. I was bummed too 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I totally agree! Leave some for others people!

  20. Kayla

It Worked! I went in SLC, UT and got 4 MLP and 2 Play sets – only $6 plus tax – Thank you Toys R Us!! I will shop there again!

    • Ann Dee

Me and two other ladies at the Murray, Utah location got all the single ponies since there were only a few in stock.

They were not stocked up for this deal and won’t do rain checks for one-day sales. I feel bad for those that drive out just for this sale. There were some ferris wheels and convertibles left so hopefully a few will be able to get that deal.

  21. Shirley

DG,IL store won’t accept BOGO coupon on BOGO items.

  22. Amy

It worked for me…kind of. The computer took off $5 each instead of the full amount. Still I paid 2.49 for six ponies. Not bad.

  23. Allison

Used my bogo coupons. Not very much on the shelves. Bought 2 babies but they only let me use 1 5off coupon. : ( I don’t get it. Got the games on deal. Got the 5gc and the girl said it would’t work for 6 hrs. Where am I going to put all these great deals. Thanks Collin

  24. Lori Poole

I bought 10 for $2.50 in Nashville, TN for those in that area there were about 6 left. Dan was the employee that helped me and he was super nice!

  25. Amy

Went TRU this morning around 10 am. Purchased 4 single ponies and 2 So Soft Newborns and paid $5.49 +tax. No problems with coupons…but cashier was younger guy.(go figure….we all know what Collin says about that…picking the right cashier–it can make or break the deal–I completely agree!!) . They had less than 5 single ponies on the shelf…..so it seems to me from reading everyones’ comments this seems to be the trend…have BOGO sale, but have very few in stock….?????..how disappointing 🙁 Also it is so sad to hear that there is no consistency when they accept coupons and when they don’t..sorry to hear all the problems and issues people experienced…

    • Ann Dee

I agree. Sad to hear about the inconsistencies and only a few in stock.

  26. Rachel

I was the last one that they would let use this for free ones in Aurora, IL. My Little Pony rep was actually there and when they showed her the coupon she didn’t even know about it and said “Lots of free ponies today” but the TRU employee said to no loger let people get them for free after me. She then put a big bag of ponies aside at CS for her “friend”.

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Columbus Ohio TRU would not accept the BOGO coupons…I was bummed. Lucky I had to go there anyway. ps. The “mail in” rebate offer for the Hasbo games only allows you to use one offer per game per household. Bummed too because I bought 2 of the same game and now I can only get one offer =(

    • Emily

Ask a friend if you can have the rebate sent to her in her name! I do that with my mom a lot!

  28. Rebecca

The manager at my location said he would let me do it one time. There were only five left so I got four. But there was a woman in there at the same time and she used the BOGO coupons on the $15.99 ponies and they let her. Which they should not have done, she knew that the max price was 6.99 but she did it anyway. She told me she didn’t even have kids she just wanted to get the free stuff. I was there trying to by ponies for my daughters party prizes. People like that are wiping the shelves clean for the thrill of getting free stuff and those of us who want the items can’t even get what we want.

  29. micki

The Daycare kids and I just got back from Toys R Us – we got $147 worth of Ponies/Hasbro games for $12 after rebates/gift cards! LOVE IT!! I had the kids pick out the games/ponies and we will be dropping them off at the womens/childrens shelter later this afternoon. What a GREAT teaching opportunity for my kids 🙂 The cashier tried to give me a bit of trouble with the bogo pony coupon. But, I politely explained that the manufacturer’s coupons should be used as a form of payment and that they would be getting paid for it through the manufacturer. He knew I was doing it for charity – so I think he just let it slide without too much trouble 🙂 Thanks a Bunch!!!

  30. izzy

just went to one in washington and she said I had to “buy” one, so I bought one and got three for free. Not bad. Also bought the remote control car that was so cute- buy one get one free is still a good deal.

    • Roni

Same here….I had to pay for one…which is okay with me, still a good deal.

  31. Kathy

10 AM Glendale/Peoria, AZ. Great clerk at Bell & 75th Store. They honoed the BOGO promotion and coupons. 98 cent for 4. This was the tax. Thanks HIP.

  32. kristen

Went to TRU this morning 15 minutes after it opened with my daughter. There was a lady in line with her ENTIRE cart full of the my little pony stuff. Not one left on the shelf. That seems really rude to me. There should be some sort of coupon etiquette. I’m sick of going to the stores and seeing this same thing every time. Its so frustrating!

  33. Crystal Wagner

I went this morning when they opened. There were hardly any left and then when I got up to the register they told me that I could only use one of the $5 coupons and none of the BOGO coupons. The manager that came over was not nice either. That’s why I don’t shop at toys r us very often.

  34. Rei

The manager wouldn’t let me do it at all…I tried to purchase 4 and use 1 bogo coupon. She wouldn’t budge even with that!

  35. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just did the deal and had no problems! 4 ponies, ferris wheel and the convertible for 12.56! I did them all in the same transaction. My daughters Easter basket is done! FYI the TRU on I-17 and dunlap doesn’t have any more convertibles! I grabbed the last one

  36. April

Yay! Had 5 coupons for BOGO and they took all of them – 10 ponies! The computer did beep but the lady just overrode no questions asked in Westminster, CO.

    • Cindy

Same here….went to Westminster, CO late this morning. It is a half-hour drive so I was hoping for the best. I scored 4 ponies, 2 of the baby ponies (for the ferris wheel) a ferris wheel and the convertible. I also took advantage of the Hasbro deal….got Operation, Connect 4 and Candy Land. They took the BOGO and $5.00 off coupons plus the Hasbro coupons with no trouble at all. Paid $22.00 for all and I left wih a $5.00 TRU gift card and will submit for $8.00 rebate from Hasbro. The ponies are for my girls and my nieces and I will use the games for gifts and/or donations. Thank you so much Collin, you ROCK!!

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went this morning and they aren’t even having a BOGO free sale at our TRU…am I missing something? I talked to a manager and she had no idea what I was talking about.

      • Steph

It’s the Deal of the Day on their website.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I even had the manager look online to see….AGGHHHH! That is annoying.

          • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

            Beth,
The store manager insisted to me that there was no bogo sale going on, I stood my ground, he went and checked and apologized. Annoying!

  38. Lane

Wishing there was a ‘corporate’ coupon policy for TRU!!! Get it together TRU—-until then me and Target will dance!

  39. Faith

I wasn’t able to get the BOGO deal in Everett, WA. The coupon’s fine print says it is not valid with any other “offers” My TRU considered this sale to be an offer. But I got some free SniKiddy snacks for my son, so not a total waste 🙂

  40. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My TRU in Atlanta has a sign up that they are not taking BOGO. They did have the so soft newborns on clearance for $15, so w/BOGO & 2 $5 off, I got 2 for $5. Not a bad deal.

  41. Tammy

My sister and I went to TRU and they would not accept the coupon here in MI. They said it could not be used in conjuction with another promotion. But as we were leaving seen a lady with the same cashier use 2 $5 coupons on the ferris wheel with the store promotion BOGO. Just very confusing. I will be writing corporate also on this issue.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The Roseville TRU Store and Madison Heights Store did this no problems for me today. I did 2 transactions in Roseville and 1 in Madison Heights. I was hoping to find the bop it game – but both stores were out of it 🙁

      • Lyndsey

Madison Heights worked for me too, but I got the last 4 single ponies. I couldnt believe how empty the shelves were!

      • stephanie

very interesting…..i was at the toys r us store in rsvl. today and waited for 1 hr there!!! they would not do it for me….how fustrating, i called corp. while i was there and they told me its basically up to the store if they want to do it…..!!! i dont know how you did it kimberly!! it was very fustrating!!!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I cashed out at the service desk, because when the coupons beeped, they had to enter in how much the pony was for the coupon to be accepted. I had no problems but then again I went first thing this morning and they probably didn’t have too many coupons or questions at that point …

  42. Lonie

My store took the BOGO coupons, so I got 8 my little ponies for $2 (just paid tax)!! It was awesome!! My store had SO many!

  43. stephanie

Anyone from Michigan that has tried this and it worked?

  44. Granny

IT WORKS IN CINCINNATI,OHIO!!!, IT SURE WILL HELP OUT FOR BIRTHDAYS PRESENTS FOR THE GRANDBABIES!!! YOU’LL NEVER BE DONE BUYING TOYS!!!
    YOU’RE THE GREATEST!!! HIP2SAVE

  45. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Anyone done the deal in Brandon, FL? Hoping theres some left when I can get there this evening 🙁

  46. Rebecca

Starting to get bummed out – stuck at work until 5 and sounds like my odds on even getting a couple ponies are slim. Will be keeping my fingers crossed as I drive 45 minutes to the store (lol, not literally crossing them as I drive though) as I am planning on picking up the hasbro games anyways.

  47. Knesha

I got to TRU around 11:30 this morning. Lucky for me there was one ferris wheel and one convertible left. They had quite a few single ponies, so I was able to grab two of those, plus each pony came with a MLP dvd inside. I had no problem using my two $5.00 off coupons, but the BOGO was a no go. The register kept beeping and the cashier said it was because I was already getting a pony for free, yada, yada. I was on my lunch break and didn’t have time to explain to her how the coupon should work. In all, I still scored a great deal: 1 ferris wheel, 1 convertible and two ponies for a grand total of $16.76!

  48. Amy

Waste of time. Cashier wouldnt take my coupons for the car and ferris wheel. Someone came in before me and bought out all of the little ponies. I knew I should have just stayed home!

  49. Jamie

I had the same issue trying to use 1 coupon and buy 4 ponies which would mean paying for 1. The cashier and manager were telling me to hold on to the coupon because I was getting 2 free and blah blah. I tried to explain that shouldn’t I still be able to use the coupon and pay for 1 and get three free. NO. The cashier kept trying to tell me it would not take it because I was getting free ones. She started getting aggravated and so was I,so I told her not to worry about it because she was getting frustrated at me and I did not want to seem like I was going to stand there and argue. As soon as I mentioned that I noticed her attitude, she got nice again. It was not worth the aggravation. I wanted them for Toys for Tots as my girls are past the my little pony stage.

  50. Janice

Thank you so much for posting this! I was able to go this morning. Got two My Little Pony toys at $15.99 each, used one $5 coupon, very nice gifts for about $5.50 each! I also did got 4 seperate Hasbro games (2 different transactions) so got $10 in gift cards to! Also a free stuffed animal as I bought one Gator Golf game! Yay! Had no problems whatsoever with the coupons.

    Great deals!
