WOW! Are you going on vacation in April?! Well, I may have the deal for you! Red Roof Inn is offering up rooms for just a penny April 1st-April 15th! Did you hear me? One little penny! You can only book this deal Online here and rooms become available everyday at noon EDT. I’m guessing these will sell out seriously fast, so if you miss out today–try again tomorrow! Let us know if you’re able to score a room for a penny! 🙂
**This is what the fine print states: “This deal applies to all participating Red Roofs. Rooms will be available for online booking 48 hours in advance. For example, on April 1, rooms for 4/2 and 4/3 will become available. Rooms become available online from 3/31 to 4/13 every day at noon EDT. Only one room per booking, and one room per guest. Some blackout dates may apply and are determined by the individual Red Roof property.”

My family is also going to a concert on the 11th…..Since we only have to drive about 2 hours or so, its not worth it to pack up everyone to stay overnight… but it would be a good deal if we had to!! 🙂

I also just booked a room a mere 30 miles from here! Grandparents are taking our 6 children for a day and night… YAYYY!!!!! =) It says that taxes are not included in the price. Still sweet!
When the hotel came up did it automatically say 1 penny or did you have to click on “click for red hot deals:” So far I am not seeing any hotels with this price for tomorrow. I am trying multiple locations but nothing. ;(
Me again… The only one that was available for me was the one with 2 dbl beds. No kings were priced at this.

Yes, just chose a location and then the price displayed for a couple of the rooms was a “$0.01”. I just booked mine about 15 minutes ago and just checked back again and they are all sold out already. I also had to try a couple of the ones near me to find one that still had them available for a penny, so you might have to try a couple a little further away, or try again tomorrow.
Sorry, wanted to clarify that the actual hotel I booked at was sold out, not all the hotels. I just looked at some others and can see some still have them. I see a room in Savannah if anyone wants it!
So cool, I got one in SC, about an hour and a half away! Now I just have to see if we can find a babysitter or if we will be taking the kids with us!

For those asking about the final price, when I checked out, I had to enter my credit card, and it said the price of the room was “$0.01” and it said in little writing below that that the price did not include tax. It did not say anything about any fees. So, I’m not sure if I will be paying tax on a penny, or tax on the full price of the room, but I figure even if I had to pay tax on the full price, it couldn’t be more than like $10 right? I saw other rooms available priced at $90. (For those who haven’t booked yet, be careful you select one that indeed says it is a penny, cause a lot of choices popped up for me when I selected my hotel, and some of them were full price.)

Okay I put in just my state this time and not my city and three choices came up. Only one of the three were offering a room for a penny, so I guess it’s just certain ones not every Red Roof Inn.
I *THINK* I got a room. There are a few little quirks going on for the room I supposedly got.
It’s saying I reserved for the 3rd and leave the 3rd. Which I chose the 2nd overnight to the 3rd.
I called redroof and they’re trying to fix the problem. If they don’t call back within two hours I was told to call them back.
So..we shall see….
Oh and I asked about tax on a penny. She said no tax..it’s basically a free room. I hope she’s right and I hope they get my reservation fixed! 🙂
I am so excited!! I have to travel to central florida to see my high-schooler complete at the state level FBLA competition, and was going to go home today and book at a Red Roof Inn anyhow, since I had price shopped earlier in the week. I am soooo happy! Thank you so much!!!!!

I got an email confirmation, and tax is “$0.00” so the entire charge to my credit card was “$0.01”!!!!!

In the email it shows taxes as zero. I only found double beds and once they were gone it just shows regular prices.
Ok so someone who got this deal, please spell it out for me….Do you have to click on the red hot deals link or just Collin’s link and flip through hotels in your state/surrounding states until you find one that has the price of a room at a penny? If they all say regular prices, the penny deal is gone for the day?
The way I read this is u can only book 48 hr in advance starting at noon. So if u are not planning to stay Friday, it won’t show the penny deal. I am planning to do this either the 5th or 12th. I emailed my husband and said we have to do this. We really need a night for us. It has been a rough year.
Has anyone ever stayed at a Red Roof Inn? I have heard there are issues with bugs/cleanliness.

if you want to see how the room .01 will look when booking…i found one thats still available….search…knoxville, tn check in april 1st, check out april 2nd…the very 1st location that comes up 5334 central ave pike….click choose room…and .01 shows 2 rooms available……now no one rush out and buy this room…its strickly for show and tell so everyone can see…lol

The National Parks is having as well free days April 17-25. Seems like you could use the hotel rooms to get to a park that you have not seen yet.

I started searching a few minutes before 12 est and never could find one for a penny. I called and the man I spoke with said that there is ONE room at every hotel that is available for a penny. I was really hoping to get a night away for my hubby’s birthday. Darn 🙁
I got it! I praise the Lord! Just the vacation that I can afford. Just so ev1 knows….I clicked check availability and the first several I checked were not for a penny, but then, the last one said 1 cent, in the same place all the others had said $48. I hope that makes sense. Thanks so much for telling us about this Collin, this is going to be such a treat!

Thanks Collin! My husband and I were planning an overnight trip to Atlanta to see the Cubs opening game and money’s been tight lately. This helped out more than you can imagine! Granted, we’re not staying “IN” Atlanta, but in a ‘burb, but just the same – $.01 compared to $90+? I think I’ll deal with it!
Oh – and, I used to clean rooms for a Red Roof Inn as one of my many summer jobs. There is a check list that you’re required to follow, and all rooms get inspected at the end of your cleaning shift – if anything’s wrong AT ALL – you have to go back and clean the whole room again. Hopefully all Red Roofs are as picky as the one I worked in. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!
