walmart wouldnt the scotch brite pad coupon.

    • kim

Wouldn’t do mine either. Said it had to have the “squiggly bar” at the top.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What squiggly? I know my walmart only accepts ones from bricks.

    • Barbara

I didn’t like the looks of that coupon. I used one at Kroger but then just threw away the other one I had.

I feel better sticking to the coupons with unique bar codes.

    • stacie

Yep, wouldn’t take mine either. She told me if it doesn’t scan, they can’t accept it. 🙁

      • Linda

Walmart wouldn’t take mine, but for a different reason. When the register beeped, the cashier call a CLS over and she told me that I couldn’t buy more than three of the same product and use a coupon for all. I asked if that was part of their coupon policy. She said yes. I went home looked up Walmart policy and it doesn’t state anything about only 3 items. Went back to Walmart and asked her to show me where it stated that I couldn’t use 4 coupons on 4 of the same item. She couldn’t. GO ARMED WITH THE FACTS!!! Print coupon policies from all stores and take them with you.

  2. Anon

Mine denied it too! I hate walmart, hardly shop there since I started couponing. Target is way better in my opinion!

    • :)

sooooo agree!! I had the same issue!!

  3. silvia o

I agree I also do not like to shop at walmart.

  4. coachk

I dont understand. Why would walmart not take the coupon?

  5. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I don’t understand their logic!! The coupon says $1 off ANY scotch brite product. The get reimbursed for the coupon plus 8 cents. They act like you are taking money from their pocket!

  6. Colleen

I find Walmart as a corporation to be bad..I can not shop there – no matter how good the deal.

    • jessica

Colleen I agree with you no matter how good the deal is I will not shop at walmart either I have heard so many bad things about them and I have seen things they have done which are not right. It happened to my sister and myself, we have bought things with red clearence tags on them thinking they are on sale and when we have taken the sticker price off what do we find? the price under it is actually less money. This is why we no longer shop there.

      • ME

I have so many friends who work at Walmart – let me just say that many many of the things you have heard are flat out not true. I find one of the common things to be that ‘all their stuff is made in China’. That is SO funny because most of the stuff in the entire USA is made in china, including items you purchase at Macys and JcPenney. People think if they pay more for it and go to a regular department store they are making some kind of statement about how awful Walmart is.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What are you talking about. Stick to the conversation, not taking coupons!!!

    • Barbara

There was a time in my life where I LOVED shopping at Wal-Mart. I can’t imagine being in touch with that feeling now. I stopped going there over a year ago~except in extreme cases of need, which doesn’t pop up too often.

They carry a few items that can’t be found elsewhere, but I think I am down to a trip every six weeks-a quick trip at that.

The Wal-Mart corporation used to place an emphasis on being the lowest-priced. Now they don’t even try to see what other stores are selling for. They just assume their prices are competitive, when 90% of the time they are not.

Plus, and this sounds bad, I see much nicer-looking, better-dressed people at Target across-the-street from Wal-Mart. The people going in WM scare me a little. And we all know Target is not necessarily a higher-priced store.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I really think this depends on where you live. Here in Albuquerque our Target is tiny and run down. I think our Walmart is nicer and I almost never have problems with using coupons there. Price matching is easy too. We even have a Walmart grocery right by me that is nice and never crowded. In the last state I lived in I hated Walmart, it was old and the not fun to shop in. Funny how it varies!

        • Kris

just wanted to chime in that i too, think it varies. in my small city there are three walmarts. One were (relatively)higher class people go, one awful one in the ghetto and one that is sort of a happy medium. Super Walmart has never given me a problem with coupons but my regular non-super Target is awful and that is the store i don’t bother shopping at. just thought i would through that out there. I wish it was more across the board but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

      • Me

Nice comment – must be less oxygen up there where you are. We are in a very rural area and Walmart is a life saver here. We have no Target with their fancy customers. We have a couple of grocery stores that don’t carry much and if they do the prices are at least 25% higher. Someday I may put my nose in the air about Walmart (maybe if I win the lottery) but for now they are just fine.

    • OiOi

Sarah, I had trouble using the Don’t Fret The Sweat’s save $3.00/2 full size Suave 24 hour protection anti-persirant & deodorant (for the 2.6 oz size only). The coupon beeped and they claimed it was a fake coupon I came home and checked it out on veri-fi.com and it’s a good coupon. This is just an FYI/YMMV for anyone trying to use this coupon – Wal-Mart seems to be a little too odd with coupon acceptance.

      • robyn

i had no problems using those coupons.

  7. Ari R.

I think it depends on which Wal-Mart you go to. I am lucky enough to have 5 within a 20 mile drive. Today I went to one that is somewhat closer to me than the one I usually go to, and I had ALL sorts of problems. I have been picking up the sponges about 2-3 at a time, and have used my coupons at 2 Wal-Marts. Today however, I must have gotten one of those “winners”, because she had to call all sorts of front end people, and FINALLY got a clearance to accept them. She came back to me with attitude that I was getting them for free, and why didn’t I just pick out a sponge that was a dollar. I smiled and told her because they have them on sale. I remember why I don’t shop there, and will make a mental note to go to the one that is North of my house instead. Hang in there guys…Wal-Mart DOES accept them, you just need to get the right cashier!

  8. Barbara

I used all the Mighty Dog coupons I had.

I bought 20 more for $3.00 and will be getting paid $3 to buy the product. (.15 overage for every five cans).

So…100 cans of dog food for free. Our dog doesn’t eat canned food exclusively, but it helps to stretch out the more expensive food.

  9. Julie Parker

Walmart wouldn’t take mine either. I am definitely not a walmart fan, just went in to use my $5.00 gift card. I have problems with Target and Walmart working with coupons. CVS and Kroger are my favorite stores when it comes to accepting coupons. Meijer has just started challenging certain coupons, but they are normally a pretty good store to work with.

  10. KK

Wal-Mart is offering a free gas grill (I am not sure which one) or $50 gift card with the purchase of a patio set. I have been shopping around and they really have nice quality furniture for the price.

  11. Megan

For those of us who have gotten the P&G $100 coupon book… there are $5 off any olay regenerist face cleanser/moisturizer coupons in there. My walmart had the basic regenerist moisturizer for $5!! The boxes don’t say regenerist but have the same coloring as the regenerist products. I tried it and it worked, plus on my reciept it says “olay regenerist…” on it! An easy way to add to your 50 dollar total to get the $20 rebate!

    • Lisa

Wow, that’s awesome. Thanks for the info!

  12. Jennifer

Does anyone know where to find the Clearasil Deep Cleaning Face Scrub for $0.97? Is it in the travel or with the regular stuff? I looked and couldn’t find this. Thanks!

  13. Cindy

The new Wheatables Nut Crisps are absolutely delicious! I love the toasted pecan crackers. Time for a trip to Wal-Mart!

  14. CarmenF

I have to say Walmart does have the most issues with accepting coupons, and i normally stay away… yet sometimes i do have to march in there and use my coupon powers!

  15. kelly

my walmart wont accept a coupon higher than the price of an item–so I couldn’t buy the 88 cent sponges with the coupon. They had some for $1.04 but were all sold out—hopefully they’ll get more soon. As much as I hate shopping at walmart with coupons, its pretty much the only store in my town. ERGH! Its especially dreadful with the older ladies that TAKE FOREVER to ring you out and pull out their reading glasses to inspect every single coupon like im some friggin theif! I much prefer younger girls and guys for cashiers. Maybe that sounds a little judgey—sorry if its offensive to anyone….but man oh man, today was not a good day for me in the walmart check out line (and there were only elderly cashiers on duty…so I had no where else to go! :/)

    • Angie

Funny you should mention that your Walmart won’t take a coupon for higher than the price of the item. I had the same thing happen to me this week and I called corporate and they said under no circumstances should they refuse a coupon for it’s value exceeding the price of the item…. huh, go figure…. Oh, and get this!! The cashier that originally questioned my $1 off any one Tide coupon said she was told when she was trained to go by the picture on the coupon!!!! Wow Walmart has a fantastic training program!! NOT!!

  16. Kenzi

I’ve only once had an issue with Walmart not accepting a coupon, lol. I just shopped there this morning and spent $90 but with coupons got my total down to $59. I used most of the coupons Collin mentioned above too. Just goes to show you every store is different! I’ve never had any issues with purchasing the travel size items as well which I seem to always have issues with at my Target.

    • Melissa

I was just gonna post the Kroger deal, too! 🙂

  17. Lori

Is there a way to print older coupons from SmartSource?

  18. Felicia

My Wal-Mart has new Snuggle fabric sheets 70 count (they are new scents) for $3.48. $.48 after the $3 coupon.

  19. IndyMom

Just printed the coupon and it states Save $1.00 on any TWO Scotch bright products……. they must have caught on and changed it! 🙁

    • AM

wow that’s crazy, you are right!!! good thing i have it as a pdf file on my computer

      • Jessica

If you have it saved would you mind emailing it to me? I never got to printing it before it was changed. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!

        Thanks in advance,

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Would you mind emailing me the pdf coupon for the Scotch Brite? I didn’t print it before, and now it’s $1/2. Thanks! jfielding.1232@gmail.com

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Would you mind emailing me the file for the coupon on Scotch Brite Sponges, too? I printed one today and it says on TWO. Thanks
        kurcok@comcast.net

  20. Kimberly

Thanks for the finds!!! I was so put off by the Walmart near me today that I might not shop there any more!!! I had three IPs for the Scotch Brite scrubbers and they wouldn’t take them saying that they were counterfeit because of the address that was on them…but to prove them wrong I flipped through my binder and found a cut coupon from last week and showed them that the address was the same as what was on the IP…the CSM would not budge because she said she was told by their cash office (she gave me the # to call to ask them) to not accept them because all the coupons had been returned from that address unpaid. I really wanted to get funky but I had been chatting so nicely with the elderly lady behind me that I decided to let it go! I’ll go to Target and give them my business and not waste any more time with them!!! I told the CSM that I’m an honest couponer and I had I not been then I would not have gone to the extent I did to prove that I didn’t hold a fraudelent coupon!

    • Kimberly

And to add….they also said I couldn’t use the coupon because it was more than what the product cost. I think I’m done with Wal-mart as I hardly ever go there much any more.

  21. Summer

I just used four coupons for the scotch brite at Walmart and got four free sponges, plus overage I guess. I noticed that it wouldnt scan them so she just typed them in. I think my cashier was tired and there was a long line so who knows if she should have done it or I just lucked out.

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Okay so I feel blessed with my experience….

I went to the same wal-mart on 5 different occasions.
    1. The cashier took 10 of my coupons and took $10 off (i panicked and added some chips so it didn’t show that she owes me money lol)
    2. Went with 10 coupons again and the cashier said I can’t accept them because the value is greater than the sponge. I said you just go it as 84cent vendor coupon. She went and talked to some other cashier and did it.
    3. Had 5 coupons, supervisor was called, let it through as 84 cent vendor coupon
4 and 5—-cashier just did it as 84 cent vendor coupon.

Bottom line…..it’s all up to the cashier and maybe the supervisor not even the store itself!!

  23. coachk

I used two last night at krogers with no problems at all. The two i tried to use at walmart got kicked out by the computer, manager came over and said to do them as $1.00 vendor coupon. I used about 20 coupons at walmart yesterday and that was the only one i had a problem with.

  24. Coupon Princess

Wow I was able to finally use my 9 coupons last night but they would only put them through for the price of the sponges which was 84c. The manager said that it is NOT Walmarts Policy to give OVERAGE. BTW I gave them 5 other coupons (Mighty Dog food and schick razers) and they gave me overage for that. Same transaction. Same cashier LOL.

So last night I went online and looked up info about their CEO- do you think we can nominate WALMARTs CEO to go on “Undercover Boss” and figure out why they are losing so many customers???

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL love the idea!!!!! I would dare him to try to go in with 20 coupons and soo what him customers go through!!!!

  25. Danielle

The scotchbrite coupon is now $1 off 2 products

  26. 6kPaula

Walmart in Crawfordsville, Indiana did take my Scotch Brite (4) coupons but they had to over-ride the register. So it was a nail biter. However, I went over to Kroger and they took the coupons without any fuss. Good Luck All!

  27. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

When using coupon at Walmart, and you have overage,Like Walgreen have enough
to cover overage and pay a little.
Most of the time , it works.

  28. LeAnna Shaw

Our walmart had the wheatable nut crisps for 1.37…FREE!!! As I was using my coupons though…the scotch brite beeped. The front cashier came over and said…oh it is .98 and coupon is $1-you can’t use it. I asked her to adjust it down. She said they don’t do that. Then my scrubbie bubbles beeped. I always put the $1 off before the get free item. But cashier did not know how to do free. So manager came over. We had already had a ‘nice’ discussion on how if an internet coupon beeped..they would not take it. AT ALL. I tried to tell her many coupons beep..why discriminate against internet? But she did not get my point-So she came and did all my coupons-they all worked then picked up the scotch brite one..I told her that the Head cashier had said it was .98(really .88, but no one asked me) and said I could not use it. She said-you can-I just adjust it down. But no one looked to see that my nut crisps were over…and so were my razors..two by .03 and one by 1.03. Silly people……I am personally writing walmart and getting a name and details. I get so tired of having to smile and say sorry to pple in line behind me b/c of this stuff!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I couldn’t find the wheatable nut crisp at our Walmart. Are they by the crackers? I also looked by the nuts and cereal. Maybe our Walmart doesn’t carry them yet.

  29. Kelly

I went to WM today and has the worst experience ever. I was all checked out and my cashier was at the end of my coupon stack and the scotch sponges beeped. He got the CSM and she came over and informed me WM does not accept internet coupons.. She then started going through all the other coupons I had used telling th cashier to take them off because I could only use one per transaction if it states on the coupon “one coupon per purchase” I tried to explain to her that it meant you needed to have a coupon for each on of the items you were purchasing and using that coupon for but she was extremely rude and wouldn’t here of it. I will not go to Walmart again because of this and I am writing corporate tomorrow. It is ridiculous for cashiers to treat customers using coupons like we are stealing from them. I tried not to get upset, but I was so angry, when I should have been sad for her that she was so jealous of me….. 😛

  30. MnM2135

I had a horrible experience with WM yesterday same scenario.. I get all my stuff checked out and when we get to the IP coupons cashier would not accept no IP coupons…I took out the store policy and showed her and nothing CSM was called over and she asked cashier if she scanned any and we both replied no…CSM also denied me to use them…What’s most embarrassing i had about 4 customers lined up behind me and about 124.00 in merchandise..ugh. Very frustrated shopper.

    • Kelly

Just wanted to comment I wrote an email to WM Corporate today and it will be sent to the manager of the store I was at yesterday also. I was very cordial, but explained that better training is needed and that if something is in writing and posted on the internet ( the coupon policy) then they either need to change it or honor it. I will kepp you all posted as to what the response is.

      • Kelly

here is the response I got from Walmart…feel free to print it out and take it along with you
        Thank you for your message.

        Dear Kelly,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your inquiry. Walmart Stores can accept coupons that are available on the internet for customers to print from their home computers. The following are guidelines for the stores for accepting internet coupons:

        – The coupon should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon”. There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer, to ensure the coupon can be processed for payment.
        – The coupon should have a scan-able bar code.
        – The coupon should have an expiration date.
        – The coupon cannot be a photocopy.
        – The limit is one coupon per item, per Customer.
        – A Salaried Manager can refuse to accept a coupon if it does not meet any or all of these guidelines.

        Sincerely,
        Walmart Customer Care

  31. Jamie

I don’t usually have trouble with my Walmart accepting my coupons, I do have a LOT of trouble with the cashiers not taking all the coupons off. MANY times I’ve been shorted several dollars worth of coupons that I had handed over to the cashier and somehow they didn’t come off my bill. I try now to go with smaller orders with less coupons – keeps everyone from getting too frustrated. I generally only go once a month or so and only use my coupons for things I can get free (or with overage if the cashier pushes it through that way) and then buy anything we absolutely need that particular week.
Sounds like everyone should keep a copy of their coupon policy on hand when you head to your local Walmart!

  32. Tracy

Used two at Publix with no problem.

  33. Ashley

im pretty new to this website! I was just wondering where do you get the SS coupons and RP coupons??

  34. Kari

I know walmarts coupons policy says that they have to have manager or CSM approval if you are using over 40 coupons or more. Also I had 2 scotch bright coupons for $1 off so I got 2 scoth bright pads that were 84 cents each – didnt have a problem. I did however have a problem using $1 off any size tide. Their travel tides are 97 cents each she wouldnt give me the $1 she would only give me the 97 cents – althought when they get that $$ back from the companies they get the entire portion and her excuse was they couldnt give me the 3 cents back. Eventhough I had to pay for other groceries so they wouldnt be giving me any money back.

  35. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Kroger is the best for coupons. I used 2 of the scotch brite coupons today. Walmart always gives me trouble. I had a cashier ask me once if I had nothing better to do than clip coupons!! Argh!
