Those Kellogg’s totes are so cute I think I’d actually be will to PAY the $1.75 for them (gasp!) 🙂

    • Tilla

i just filled out 3 different orders for them…so 2.19 a piece with postage…but i’m so willing to spend 6.57 on them because they are adorable! I can’t wait to get the dig em one…frogs are my thing!

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Totally doing the $1 ink… even though the only store that does it is in a REALLY bad part of town that is filled with “ladies of the night”… but maybe they won’t be out when I go :/

    • Jennifer

I would be careful with the ink….I heard that it can leak and some printers do not recognize the ink even after it is filled…..like mine…..lol

      • Janet

I had my ink refilled there for my HP printer. In the end I had to get a new printer because it ended up ruining my printer.

      • Tilla

my husband is a computer god for a living and he doesn’t recommend refilled ink cartridges. he’s a frugal person and hates spending money but that is the one area he doesn’t want me to recycle

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Same thing here with the refill ink! I had just refilled my ink cartridge when my printer didn’t recognize the cartridge! so I ended up getting a new printer!

    • PS

It really depends and only you can make that decision. I have bought remanufactured ink cartridges for years from online ink sellers and even refilled my old cartridges many times with those kits you can purchase and I never, ever have had a problem with my printer.

  3. Olivia Smith

    Awesome!! 🙂

  4. Dawn

I would order several of these if it would combine shipping, but $1.75 for each is more than I am willing to pay when I already have so many bags.

    • Jennifer B.

Me too. From the order from it says to enclose $1.75 for each item ordered so even though they are cute, I’m gonna have to pass on that offer.

  5. Ana Maria

That really sucks that Walgreens has so many printer brands on their list but not Canon! Oh well at least I’ve gotten pretty good deals on paper & ink and recycling cartridges with my Staples Rewards. I will be going by Origins & Salvation Army tomorrow though! 🙂

    • megan

      I know! 🙁 I need my Canon refilled. I wonder why…

      • Jennifer

Canon models have a little thing on them that has to be read by the printer….If it is not ink, and you let’s say, try to put a totally different brand and color in the spot, it will not recognize it….My printer is too smart for it’s own good….lol

P.S. I may have tried to put a different color in a spot and it told me that color was already in there….

  6. Patty

I have found the Kelloggs bags in Rainbow Foods & Cub Foods MN. They are super cute!

    • MommySpendsLess

Oh lucky you! We don’t have either of those stores down here in Florida but I’ll keep my eye out for them at Publix. How much are they selling for?

Somebody is trying to sell the Fruit Loops one on eBay for $4.25 plus shipping ($5.09 to my zip code) – wow!

      • Vickie

Hi Everyone…FYI’s on a couple of the Earth Day Deals…Both the Kellogg’s and Hanes deals have been around for awhile…the Kelloggs a long time actually. I have the bags…THEY are so cute, big, and made very well….they were originally around $4.50 plus ship…for earth day they are FREE and just pay ship…if anyone is hesitant…you won’t be sorry…imo, much nicer than the Target (small) bag and Publix bags.

I just sent in for my free Hanes T Saturday…can’t wait to get this one…every year they do this offer and they too are well made.

The ink at Walgreens refills…if compatible to your computer…this is also a great deal…that I always use and NO problems with ink leakage etc…normally priced for refill is $9.99 so this is a great price…filling your own cartridge is cheaper but messy.

Thanks so much Collin…I have done these deals already…and they are awesome if you are on the fence…HTH 🙂

  7. Mackenzie

Another great one coming up tomorrow: 20% off storewide on recycled office supplies at https://www.rebinder.com Great way to stock up on eco-friendly binders and notebooks for the kids.

  8. Cindy

I love these bags! The promotion doesn’t require receipts, so if you have a couple of Kellogg’s boxes (any cereal, not just the ones for kids) in your kitchen, you can use those UPC codes.

    • megan

      Thanks! 🙂

  9. amanda

I already mailed my order form for the bag this morning. I had a couple empty boxes of cereal and used those upcs. They are so cute. Can’t wait to get mine!!!

  10. Texas Chick

For those of you in Texas, HEB will be giving out free reusable/recycled bags from 3pm-7pm if you take in 5 plastic bags.

    • Lydia

Thanks! I’ll definitely take advantage of that deal.

  11. fran

Thanks Collin, I am definitely going to get the Hanes T-shirt. I have a raincheck for Hanes panties from Shop Rite, so I will be sure to buy 3 packs to qualify for the free T-shirt 🙂

  12. Rachael

Will I find the Walgreen in ad coupon in the store?!?!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yes it is in the ad, towards the back. My store had lots of the ad sitting in front. Even though the coupon does not say ‘linit one’ the cashier at my store said it is one per person. So I will be stopping at 2 stores on the way to work as I have 2 empty ones. She said it will probably take a couple days to get it filled bc there will be such a huge demand tomorrow.

      • Aliviah

You could also print the coupon from walgreens.com. Go to the Weekly Ad, under School and Office, you can print it from there. 😀

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Those bags are super cute, I have heard that some Food Lions also have them, though I haven’t seen them. I had hoped our commissary would have them as I have gotten free Kellog’s promos before from there (a plastic bowl) but I didn’t see them there when I went. I need more bags anyway,so I will order one of these.

    • mamabear

hmmm… how would we go about finding which food lions carry them? those are suuuper cute!!!

  14. Jessica

Does anyone know if we are allowed to have more than 1 ink cartridge filled at Walgreens for $1?? I don’t want to push my luck…

    • Kiesha

I called my local Walgreens and the girl at the photo counter said there was no limit. They are probably leaving it up to the stores to decide.

      • Jessica

        Awesome! Thanks!!! 🙂

  15. Megan

I never refill my cartridge at Walgreens again. I had no problem with their refill before. This year, I had to buy 2 new cartridges right after I got them refilled at Walgreens. I heard other people had the same problem.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

When they had the coupon that was 55% off a few months ago I went in with my cartridge. When I came back a few hours later to get it, the girl working the photo counter told me that I gave her a broken cartridge and that when she filled it, it leaked all over the place. Now I know for a fact that it wasn’t broken as I had printed somethings out that morning with it. I was really upset because I brought in a good cartridge and I am pretty sure the girl did something to it. I called a manager (I was too mad at the time to stay and chat with one), told him what happened and he said that since Walgreens doesn’t sell the cartridge I had, to go buy one and they would give me back my money for the new one since they broke my 1st one.

I go in a few days later with my old cartridge, and the receipt for my new one, the manager I spoke with wouldn’t give me my money and told me to come back when the other one would be there. At this point I was furious as now I am wasting gas and my time. In speaking with this 2nd manager he told me that 75% of them leak and I was trying to get money out of them. He then went on to say that really color inks shouldn’t be refilled. So when I informed him if this is the case then Walgreen’s is doing false advertisment, he laughed at me (with his arms cross, he was super defensive) and tells me that I have no clue what I am talking about and that I know nothing about advertising. Fake out on his butt as I just happen to have a degree in Communications and took way too many advertising classes. I did eventually get my $40 back, but because of all this I do not shop at Walgreens anymore, there is no need for me to waste my money there unless they are paying me to get their stuff.

  16. Amanda

I have some Kellogg’s cereals that I’m going to use UPC’s for, these bags are really cute, too bad you have to pay shipping and handling, but I think it’s not bad. I’m trying to switch over to using reusable bags so this will make a cute addition to the 3 or 4 bags I have already.

  17. Tracy

I think the bags would also make cute gift bags for birthdays.

  18. Melissa S.

This may be a stupid question, but I’ve never refilled ink before, I just either bought a new printer (which sometimes is cheaper) or bought more ink. This sounds like a fantastic deal, but I think mine are still half full. Can they fill them up the rest of the way for $1?

  19. Kelsey Bradshaw

I saw those bags at the Albertsons store, didn’t stop to see what they were all about so you might check the local store!

  20. Jackie W

I can’t wait to get my Toucan Sam.

  21. Jen

I found the Kellogg’s bags at Winn-Dixie next to the cereal aisle. They are super cute and roomy IRL. This is in Alabama. 🙂

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I AM SOO STOKED FOR THE PRINTER CARTILAGE REFILL!!!!!!! thanks i cant believe i missed that on my ad!!! i almost threw it away!!

  23. Amber

I had to laugh at myself last year as I drove all over town just to snag the earth day freebies. Nothing like celebrating earth day with a lot of needless driving. I was a nebie couponer and was excited about all the freebies. I think I’ll sit out this time around – I’ve come to my senses 😉

    • Tilla

hah! funny:) i think the only deal i am doing is the kelloggs bags because they are adorable! might as well get something cute for the gazillion boxes i have. I feel bad as it is because I am in the car so much with 4 kids. I bought a smaller vehicle 2 years ago and we all pile into it instead of the giant gas guzzling mini van i had. i switched to all natural cleaners (except my tide, sigh none of the natural ones replace it). … i hope we can all do our small part to love our planet Earth. I cried for an hour when the autopsied the grey whale (4th one to die in the past month on our pacific coast waters) and that beautiful creature had 20 plastic bags, sweat pants, and other trash in it’s stomach. 20 plastic bags? there is zero excuse to have these in our water sources!

      • Priscilla

I almost laughed when I read about your gas guzzling van. Our ‘small’ van is a mini-van….our family vehicle (8 of us) is a 15 passenger van. took $80 to fill it up…it wasn’t quite empty when I started but getting too low for my comfort. Gas was $2.88 here in SE WI, last Sat. when I filled up.

  24. Meghan

I have 6 of the Kellogg’s reusable bags. For those of you in the NW, check QFC–you will have to buy 2 boxes of cereal per bag. I almost ordered them on-line when I saw them last week–glad I waited. The only drawback is my bags are quit faded. The color on the Kellogg’s site is vivid and deep. If you click on my name, it will take you to my post showing what the color of my bags. I am interested to know if anyone gets bags that are so beautifully colored as the ones shown on the Kellogg’s site.

  25. Meghan

I have 6 of these bags. For those of you in the NW, QFC has them and you will need to buy two boxes of Kellogg’s cereal. I like the size of the bags, but they are not vividly colored as shown on the Kellogg’s site, in fact they look faded. If anyone gets the rich, vibrantly colored bags, I want to know!

    • Tilla

as of today, my qfc went out of business. very sad, we didn’t frequent it often, but it was our go to store when we neeeded 1 quick ingredient for dinner

  26. bethany

the salvation army deal is a confirmed rumor!

    • Anna

yes, i just called mine and they said no. 🙁

  27. shell

I found the Kelloggs bags at Winn Dixie. They are free with the purchase of 2 Kelloggs cereals. The cereal was bogo and I had coupons. Score 🙂

  28. Aliviah

I have my empty cartridges, coupons and print out of accepted printers/my store location, ready to go! 😀

The other Earth Day event I’d love to do is the Pottery Barn Kids one, I’ll have to play it by ear with my son, make sure he’s not a cranky goose beforehand. lol!

    Thanks Collin!

  29. heather

I have called 3 Salvation Army Family stores in my surronding area, all have said the same thing. There is no Earth day sale. The next big sale (besides their Wednesday family sales) is Memorial Day. That was a big bummer, I needed to get a few summer things for my boys! 🙁

    • Anna

what is the memorial day sale? and what goes on Wednesdays?

      • heather

The woman on the phone really didn’t give any info. She just said the next big sale is the Memorial Day sale. The wednesday family sale she said is %50 off 4 different colored tags. She wan’t very helpful, you might call you nearest store and ask for info on the sales!

  30. margaret in seattle

just came back from origins counter at our local macy’s. they are really the full size tubes. made my husband go in and get me another one. so now i have one of each to try. always want to try their products but they tend to be very pricy for my tight budget.

  31. Heidi

I was really excited for the Salvation Army Earth Day Sale. Bummer . . .I called two local stores in PA, and they said there was no such sale.

  32. Laura

Found the Kellogg’s reusable bags at Farm Fresh in Chesapeake, Virginia this morning. Another couponer in front of me told me about them and after hunting down 2 managers, they pulled out an enormous box of the bags 🙂 Got 4 boxes of cereal for $7 oop, 2 bags (tony the tiger and toucan sam) and THEN I got a catalina printed for $4 off your next order from buying 4 select boxes of cereal. What a great earth day!! We now have over 20 boxes of cereal that I have either got for free, made money on or paid less than $1 a box-we are set for awhile.

    • Laura

Just a quick note about the bags-not so glossy looking as they appear in the picture but made with all canvas. Very cute bags with extra long handles to sling over your shoulder.

  33. Erin

Talk about timing–I just got a bunch of Hanes underwear on clearance at Target: $1.98 for two pair! They are kinda strange–they’re called “chiffon” and are made out of an extremely thin but stretchy material. I was skeptical, so I bought only one pack at first. Then I tried them, and bliss! They are everything the package says–they *will* fit (even though they seem too tiny to fit anyone but a toddler!), they don’t ride, and best of all, no panty lines! I even tried these out at the gym, and they were just fantastic. So I went back and snatched up some more. When I saw this deal, I figured I might as well get shirts for the whole family, so I got a couple more pair. If you see these, buy them (but make sure both pair are still in the package. One was missing from one of mine). They are great!

  34. Susan

Got my Earth Day Hat at the Disney Store (along with a few other things lol) thank you!!!

  35. Julie S.

    Thanks so much Collin!

  36. Lisa

They have the same deal in Stop and Shop in CT. They are right on a display near the cereal.

  37. clutterkeeper

fyi: The Disney store hat deal is a past event…. from 2010 Earth Day! This year they are giving a tote bag, its on their Facebook page 🙂
